Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 10
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 10
Cassandra looked up at Orlando. âYeah, I did,â
âWhy didnât you discuss it with me?â He looked upset, a wave of emotions swirling in his eyes.
Cassandra didnât understand why Orlando had such a strong reaction. âWas it because I took the liberty of informing the Jackson family about the divorce?â she wondered.
âI didnât see the need for a headsâup. Arenât we signing the divorce papers on Monday? In that case, you shouldnât have an issue with me laying out our situation to my family, right?â Cassandra replied.
âAre you that desperate to sever ties with me?â Orlandoâs tone was frosty.
Cassandra was taken aback, unable to make head or tail of his cryptic question.
She plastered on a helpless smile. âOrlando, did you forget youâre the one who brought up a divorce?â To herself, she added, âYouâre the one in a rush to leave me.â
With a darkened expression, Orlando frowned and fired back coldly, âThereâs no need to rush things. We can wait till all the paperwork is tied up. Your parents dropped the bomb on Grandpa the moment they heard. Weâre heading back to the Quinn manor later.â
His comments sent Cassandra on a thinking spree. âCould it be that Grandpa Peter getting wind of the divorce threw off Orlandoâs plan? He wants out and doesnât want any hitches.â Smiling a wry smile, she brushed off the overthinking.
Taking a calming breath, she replied evenly, âDonât sweat it. Iâll sort it out with Grandpa Peter. Heâs fond of me. Heâll surely come aroundâ
Upon seeing her nonchalance, showing no slightest hint of reluctance to break things off, Orlandoâs face turned even frostier. A peculiar sense of discontent swam through him, stirring up a storm inside. He couldnât wrap his head around how Cassandra could switch her attitude so rapidly.
Before the divorce bombshell, Cassandra was always tender and thoughtful, caring for him in her unique way. They maintained their respectful distances, free from any disputes. However, since he dropped the divorce bomb, Cassandra swung between sarcasm and indifference.

Chapter 10
âWas it because I asked for divorce first?â he wondered.
Orlando eyed Cassandraâs radiant, spectacular face, feeling like she was cloaked in a layer of mist, obscuring her true essence. He knew she was the crown jewel of the high society. She wasnât all flash and no substance- rather, her allure was magnetic, leaving an indelible mark on peopleâs minds.
He couldnât help but question, âWhat kind of man was her ex that made her sacrifice her marriage?â
Before they took their vows.
Orlando made it clear that he was in it to honor his grandfatherâs wishes. In contrast, Cassandra was looking to part ways for good with her ex.
This didnât just click for him once, but now an uncomfortable sensation gnawed at his heart.
Orlandoâs jaw clenched up, his voice rough and low. âCassandra, are you planning to run back to him once weâre divorced?â
Cassandra paused, fumbling to grasp his implication. When realization dawned on her, her face turned glacial. âNo.â
âWhy?â he probed.
âNo reason. Weâve already split, so why would I get back to him? Besides, heâs probably moved on and found someone new by now,â she answered.
She appeared detached, as if discussing someone elseâs affairs.
Orlando kept staring at her and didnât let go of any emotion on her face. He questioned, âWasnât he opposed to breaking up? Maybe heâs still hanging onto hopes of a reunion.â
âPeople change. No one s the same forever, right?â Her comment could as well be a pep talk to herself. As a dogged internal voice chind in
