Collision of Truths
Mrs. & Mrs. Elahi ( INTERSEX GxG )
Linaâs POV
The morning after the brunch, I woke up to an unusual quietness in the mansion. Normally, the house hummed with activityâstaff bustling, my mother dictating her endless to-do lists, and Zaraâs clipped voice somewhere in the mix. But today, it felt⦠off.
I grabbed a hoodie and made my way downstairs, curiosity pulling me toward the source of the silence. It didnât take long to find it. Zara was in the dining room, pacing like a caged tiger while her mother and mine sat at the long table, their expressions grim.
âAm I interrupting something?â I asked, leaning against the doorway.
Zara stopped mid-step, her eyes narrowing. âYou always seem to have perfect timing.â
âWhatâs going on?â I asked, ignoring her sarcasm.
My mother sighed, gesturing for me to sit. âWeâve had⦠a development.â
âSounds ominous,â I muttered, taking a seat across from Zara.
âItâs the Ahmed deal,â Zaraâs mother explained. âTheyâve pulled out of the merger.â
âWhat?â Zara and I said in unison.
Apparently, the Ahmeds had decided that the risk of merging with the Elahis wasnât worth it. Something about market instability, but it felt like a thin excuse.
âWithout the Ahmeds, the Elahi-Chaudhry alliance wonât hold as much weight,â my mother said, her tone laced with frustration. âWe need a new strategy.â
Zaraâs jaw tightened. âAnd let me guessâthe strategy is us.â
Her mother didnât deny it.
I frowned. âYouâre saying that even though the Ahmeds are out, we still have to go through with this wedding?â
âItâs not just about the Ahmeds,â my mother said. âItâs about solidifying our familiesâ power and showing the world that weâre united, no matter what.â
Zara laughed, but there was no humor in it. âOf course. Because appearances are all that matter.â

Zaraâs POV
After the meeting, I stormed out of the dining room, my mind racing. Lina caught up with me in the hallway, her footsteps echoing behind me.
âZara, wait.â
I stopped but didnât turn around. âWhat?â
âThis isnât fair,â she said, stepping in front of me. âThey canât just use us like pawns.â
âNewsflash, Linaâthey already have,â I snapped. âThatâs the whole point of this ridiculous arrangement.â
Her expression softened. âYouâre really angry about this, arenât you?â
âOf course, Iâm angry!â I said, throwing up my hands. âIâve spent my entire life doing what they want, being who they want. And now, Iâm supposed to just⦠smile and play along while they use me to fix their problems?â
Lina studied me for a moment, her gaze steady. âYou donât have to do this alone, you know.â
Her words caught me off guard. âWhat are you saying?â
âIâm saying that maybe we can figure out a way to survive this together,â she said. âAs a team.â
I scoffed. âYou want to team up with me? You canât even stand me.â
She smirked. âTrue. But I hate them more.â
Despite myself, I smiled. âFine. But if weâre doing this, we do it my way.â
âDeal,â she said, holding out her hand.
I hesitated for a moment before shaking it, the contact sending an unexpected jolt through me.

Later That Evening
We decided to start our âallianceâ by figuring out how to handle the fallout from the Ahmeds pulling out. My parents had invited yet another potential investor for dinnerâa middle-aged billionaire named Mr. Malhotra, whose ego was as big as his bank account.
âYou want us to what?â Lina asked, staring at me like Iâd lost my mind.
âCharm him,â I said, adjusting my earrings in the mirror. âPlay nice, laugh at his jokes, make him think weâre the perfect couple. Itâs not that hard.â
She crossed her arms. âYou realize I have zero interest in stroking some old manâs ego, right?â
I sighed, turning to face her. âLook, I donât like this any more than you do. But if we donât, our parents will never let us hear the end of it.â
She groaned but reluctantly nodded. âFine. But if he says one creepy thing, Iâm out.â

Linaâs POV
Dinner with Mr. Malhotra was as awful as Iâd expected. He spent most of the evening bragging about his wealth and subtly insulting everyone else at the table. Zara played her part perfectly, nodding politely and occasionally laughing at his terrible jokes.
I, on the other hand, was struggling to keep my composure. By the time dessert was served, I was ready to snap.
âSo, Lina,â Mr. Malhotra said, turning his attention to me. âTell me, how does it feel to be marrying into such a prestigious family?â
I forced a smile. âWell, itâs certainly⦠an experience.â
He chuckled, clearly oblivious to my sarcasm. âIâm sure Zara will keep you in line. Sheâs always been the responsible one.â
Beside me, I felt Zara tense.
âActually,â I said, my tone sharper than I intended, âI think Zara and I balance each other out quite well. Donât you agree, darling?â
Zara blinked, caught off guard, but quickly recovered. âAbsolutely,â she said, slipping her hand into mine. âLina keeps me on my toes.â
The warmth of her hand in mine was unexpected, and for a moment, I forgot where we were.
âWell, I must say, you two make a lovely couple,â Mr. Malhotra said, raising his glass.
As we clinked glasses, Zara leaned closer to me, her lips brushing against my ear. âNot bad, Lina. Maybe we do make a good team.â
For once, I didnât have a snarky comeback.

After Dinner
When the guests finally left, Zara and I collapsed onto the living room couch, exhausted.
âWell, that was horrible,â I said, kicking off my heels.
Zara laughedâa genuine, warm laugh that caught me off guard.
âYou werenât so bad,â she said, surprising me. âYou actually held your own.â
âDonât get used to it,â I muttered, but I couldnât help smiling.
We sat in comfortable silence for a while, the tension from earlier fading. For the first time, I felt like maybeâjust maybeâwe could survive this together.
