Chapter 351
The Broken Warrior’s Daughter
Chapter 0351
âWeâll need lighter food for the injured. You should begin making that turkey soup you! inentioned. Those recovering will need it and anything else you can think of that might help them to recover more easily.
âYes Luna.â She says just as Carlos and Noah return with supplies.
âYou must be Grace.â A deep, unfamiliar voice says from behind me. I spin around to see a man standing beside one of the women I sent to guard the packhouse.
âLuna, this isâ¦â
I recognize him. I donât know how, but I recognize this man. âLiam.â I finish for
her.
His answering smile is like the sun breaking through a cloudy day. âItâs nice to finally meet you.â He says, looking around. âAlthough I wish it were under better circumstances. Angel and I heard your call for help. I am here to assist, and I have brought some warriors and my doctor as well. Angel wanted to come, but sheâs pregnant and I didnât know what we were going to be walking into.â
I shake my head. âLiam, thank you.â As I stare, he raises an eyebrow at me. âAre you go
going to tell your Amazonian squad that itâs okay for my pack members to come in?â He asks dryly.
âOf course, let them in.â I tell my pack member.
âWhereâs Eli?â Liam asks, coming in and beginning his own assessment of our injured.
âHere. Heâs been hit three times.â Liam comes over and looks at him, nodding.
âGet the bullets out and the arrow and heâll be fine. My guess is that heâll be up and walking around before tomorrow morning.â
I turn to look at him. âHow do you know that?â
He smiles at me. âGifts of being mated to a Guardian.â
He looks at me for a moment. âYouâve been avoiding us, Grace. Itâs time Maial came to meet her sisters. You donât know what it means to them and will mean to you until she gets her memories back. But itâs time. Weâre family. Maia just needs to remember that.â
Liam takes a scalpel and begins cutting into Eliâs shoulder before taking forceps.
and reaching in to pull the bullet out. He drops it on the floor beside him.
âAngel has an immunity to silver and therefore, now, so do I. I donât think you have that Guardian gift, but it looks like you are resistant to wolfsbane.â He says nodding to my leg. âIf so, Eli will have it now as well. That will help his healing.â The moment Liamâs doctor enters the room, Noahâs head shoots up. âMate!â
Her head lifts in the same way, looking at Noah in awe. âMate.â
âWell, fuck, I just lost my best doctor.â Liam says, working on the other bullet in Eliâs thigh.
The adrenaline is wearing off and having Liam here feels surreal, so my response is not appropriate for the situation. âYeah, Eli said we have a lot of unmated pack members and wants to set up pack gatherings between the three packs.â I tell
him.
âGreat idea. Rik and I have done something similar, but weâve pretty much cleared out all of our mated pairs.â
âIâm bummed about losing Dr. Phillips. Sheâs great, but we have another doctor. It sounds like you need her here anyway.â
He moves to start cutting the arrow out of Eliâs thigh. âIâm guessing this was hunters?â He says, looking at me.
âYes. We had a woman and her baby come to our borders asking for refuge.â I look up to see Carlos. He hasnât stopped working on the injured. âShe was
running from the hunters, and they must have chased her here. Sheâs mated to our Beta.â I say, nodding at Carlos.
Liam glances over, lifting his nose in the air. âHe smells like an Alpha to me.â He says, before tilting his head. âBut, no wolf?â
I can see Carlos flinch, having heard Liam. âHeâs a great Beta, wolf or no.â I say defensively.
âNever said he wasnât, I just said heâs got Alpha blood.â He says as he pulls the arrow from Eliâs thigh, dropping it to the floor.
âOkay, youâre next.â He says, standing up.
âWhat?â
He arches his eyebrow at me. âYouâre a Guardian, but the arrow still needs to come out. Iâm not a
He arches his eyebl so Iâll only work on you and Eli since whatever I
screw up, I know your body can heal.â
-IL BONDS
He kneels down in front of me, looking at my thigh, before taking the scalpel and slicing a cut beneath the arrowhead. I hiss as he pulls it out, blood dripping downII my thigh.
âLiam, get the fuck away from my mate.â Eliâs exhausted and pained voice says.
âEli!â I say and drop to the floor beside him, laying over him and letting the stress of the day go. I didnât realize how scared I was that I might lose him. As my tears begin to fall, his arms wrap around me, his scent enveloping me. âIâm here, baby.â
