Chapter 384
The Broken Warrior’s Daughter
Chapter 0384
I am stunned at the power that Grace just pushed out. And according to her, it was only half her power. She literally knocked all three Alphas, a fae king and a group of warriors on their collective asses.
Cara starts clapping. âNice job, Grace!â
Rik jogs over to Trevor who is limping but not injured badly.
I walk with Ailduin and Liam back over to my mate. âAre you okay?â She asks me, her eyes looking over my body for injuries.
âIâm fine. But, wow, baby. I had no idea you were that strong.â
âI told you, itâs a LOT of power that I can feel now.â
As Trevor limps closer she goes to him. âAre you alright? Did I hurt you?â She asks him, concern etching her voice.
âIâm good, Luna. I asked for it and wow, that was something else.â
âMaia? That was only half of your power?â Ailduin directs his question to Maia, rather than Grace.
âYes. I pushed my power into Graceâs Alpha aura and then helped her hold it back.â
âImpressive. I will have to come up with another way to test your strength, since your full strength would cause injury to the pack.â
âI think Iâm done for now.â
âAre you fatigued from pushing your aura?â Ailduin asks her, his brows furrowing.
I walk over and put my arms around her. âNo, sheâs concerned about hurting Rik and Caraâs pack. Can we switch gears to something else for now?â I answer for my mate. I can feel through the bond that she feels guilty for hurting Trevor, even though it wasnât bad, and he is already healing.
âOf course. I want to test your strength as well.â Ailduin says and I walk Grace to a chair, helping her to sit her, before kissing her forehead and walking back.
âWell, I can tell you, Iâcanât do what she just did.â I say.
Ailduin chuckles. âNo, I wouldnât expect that you could. But that doesnât mean that youâre not stronger than you used to be. Have you tested your strength?â
Not specifically I train like the other Alphas, but I canât say Iâve tested my trength other than during the obstacle course we did a couple weeks ago.
Iâm not as knowledgeable about the gifts of being mated to a Guardian. Based on what Iâve learned from Rik and Liam, you gain some of your Guardianâs abilities. Iâd like to see if thatâs true for you. I believe Liam has agreed to spar with you today?â He asks, looking at Liam.
âHell yeah!â He says, hopping up and coming over.
âYou letting me get some payback?â I ask, as I take a defensive stance.
âNo way, youâll have to fight for it.â He says, before coming at me.
I quickly realize that Iâm faster than I used to be. Iâve fought against Alphas before, and I always struggled to hold my own. Now, however, it feels like Iâm faster than Liam.
Iâm also very familiar with how hard Liam punches, having been his punching bag for six months. But now, his hits donât seem so powerful, and my own punches are making an impact.
After about 30 minutes, Ailduin calls us to stop.
Whew. Were you always this strong?â Liam asks me, holding his ribs. I got some good hits in.
âI donât think so. I know I wasnât this fast, and I also know that your punches feel weaker than before. Unless youâre getting old.â I say, lightly punching him in the
arm.
âWho are you calling old, old man. Youâre older than me.â He says, punching back.
If someone had asked me a year ago if Iâd be sparring with Liam Holstin in the back of Rik Forteâs packhouse, joking with both Alphas, I would have laughed in their face. And yet, here I am.
âHow about you, Rik. Are you going to give the old man a go?â Liam says tauntingly to Rik.
âI donât know if the old man can take a young stud like me.â He says, walking over. âBut, if heâs game, so am I.
Iâm not as experienced with Rikâs fists as I am with Liamâs, but I have some memory of our fight when I was trying to kidnap Cara. Itâs the same as before, even though Rik is nearly 13 years younger than me, Iâm skipping in and out of his reach, getting my punches in. He lands his share on me, but they donât feel
nearly as powerful as I remember.
When Ailduin calls us to stop, I give the same feedback. I feel faster and Rikâs hits feel weaker than I remember.
