Chapter 66
In Love With My Evil Stepbrother
Read In Love With My Evil Stepbrother Chapter 66 â Another Stepbrother Easonâs POV I march into dadâs study. He is already there waiting for me.
I used to dread this place. Whenever I made a mistake as a boy, he would ask the butler to bring me in here and sit me down for a long lecture. He had to make sure I knew that I wasnât good enough to be the Ramirezâs heir.
But now that Iâm old enough, Iâve learnt not to give a sh*t about how he thinks of me.
âSit,â my father nods at me as I take my seat in front of me across the table. âYour security team reported some unusual activities to me today. I think I have to ask you the reason.â
I lean back on the chair and raise my eyebrows at him, âMy bodyguard snitched behind my back? How unprofessional.â
A faint smile appears on his lips, âYou can fire him if you like. But the new guy will still report to me. I can assure you that.â
My face tightens out of my control. I know thatâs a warning. He is telling me that I still donât have any real controls over the family.
âSo? The reason?â
I snort, âI was looking for someone at the airport.â
âWhom?â
I slightly narrow my eyes, giving him a challenging look, âAs the head of the family, I thought you had already known.â
He stares back at me, the look in his eyes very dark and cold. Other people would start shivering in fear under this gaze, but not me.
âNatalia,â he says eventually. Thatâs a statement, not a question.
I make a funny noise with my nose.
He slowly rises from his seat, now looking down at me, âYou got an apartment off campus not long ago.
Was that for yourself? Or was it for someone else.â
I sigh, âBeating around the bush is very unlike you dad. Just cut to the chase.â
ââ¦Were you two seeing each other?â
I sit still for a moment and then suddenly burst into laughter, âThatâs a very conservative way of saying.
But yeah I guess you can say that. We were seeing each other, kissing each other, f**king each otherâs brain out and sneaking around behind yourââ.
A hot slap landed on my face before I can finish. God it f**king hurts. The old man still got it. But I feel more liberated than angry or ashamed. I enraged him on purpose. I need to get the lingering steam out of my system.
âItâs been a long time since I last hit you. Because I thought youâve outgrown that. But apparently, I was wrong,â I hear my fatherâs rage-filled voice. âThat slap was for me, for Natalia and for her mother. Youâve disappointed me, youâve disrespected her mother and you have messed with the wrong girlâ And that got me.
âWho said she is the wrong girl!â I jump out of my seat and roar. âI love her, and she loves me! We are perfect together. Whatâs your place to call her the wrong girl?!â
âShe loves you? Then why is she running away from you right now?â
F**k.
Anger almost made me forget that he is my father. I just want to punch him in the face right now.
Then he says sternly, âI know you are a troubled kid, Eason. But I didnât expect you to be this outrageous. Now I need you to back down from this now and I will take everything from here. I forbid you to see her again.â
Iâm so infuriated that I want to smack things now.
âWhy the f**k are you stopping me dad?! You like Nat! Why canât you just be f**king supportive for once!
Like a real father!!â
âSupportive? Are you even listening to yourself? I like Natalia as my stepdaughter. I didnât bring her into this family for you to screw her! You are brother and sister for godâs sake! Just think about the scandal and rumors if this breaks out. I can see that you have absolutely no family honor!â Oh here it is. The family honor.
I let out a low chuckle, but it is filled with sarcasm, âYes father, you are a very honorable man. So thatâs why you married mom for her wealth and title and let her into your loveless marriage. You turned her into this control freak and call that family honor.â
My fatherâs face darkens. I know Iâve hit his soft spot.
âIâm not going down your path,â I stand up facing him. âNat is the one. You can try and stop us, but it wonât work.â
This is the first time I leave the room before he dismisses me. I guess my respect for him has run out at this point.
âIt wonât work,â I hear my father announces coldly behind me. âI wonât let you ruin your life and her life like this.â

Nataliaâs POV As soon as we step out of the airport, Iâm immediately welcomed by the dense and dripping humidity of Miami, which is so drastically different from the crisp and dry weather in Boston.
I stand still in the evening wind for a movement, taking in a deep breath of the fresh air that smells like sea, and suddenly feel at home.
Everything happened in Boston feels like a dream now.
âCome!â Jenna waves at me. âI got us an Uber. We will make a stop at your home first. If things donât go well, you can come and stay with me.â
âJennaâ¦â I look at her and fell my heart full of gratitude. âThereâs no way I can thank you enough.â
âYou can save it then,â she gives me a playful smile. âIf I run into a heartless b*stard in the future, you will be responsible of getting rid of him for me.â
She checks plate number and walks to our car, which turns out to be a black and shiny Benz. It surprised me a little when I saw it. This car is not exactly a luxury one but itâs not cheap either. So it seems that even rich people have to get out and make a living Jenna bends down and taps the car window. It slowly rolls down and reveals the driverâs face.
Itâs a young man in his early 20s, dressed in tie and suit. And most importantly, heâs got a super handsome face that can easily attract any girlâs attention, âUmmâ¦can I help you?â he slightly frowns and asks. Even his voice is beautiful.
Jenna blushes suspiciously, âUber? Can you open the trunk for us? We got luggage.â
A flicker of doubt passes through his eyes. But then his eyes settle on me and the look of suspicious on his face quickly vanishes, âAre you going to 388 Loganâs Drive?â
Thatâs my dadâs location. I nod.
A charming smile appears on his face almost instantly, âOf course. Let me help you with your luggage.â
He gets off the car and opens the trunk for us. I can smell a pleasant scent of male cologne when he stands next to me. Suddenly for no reasons at all, my cheek turns pink.
When he is not looking, Jenna secretly gives a tack at my sleeve and months me: Hot!
I let out a rather stupid giggle at her comment.
When the car drives smoothly out of the airport, our handsome driver slightly adjust the rearview mirror and asks, âSo, what brings you ladies to Miami?â
âWe live here, actually. We just came back from a rather horrible and exhausted trip.â
âOh? Where did you go?â
Then Jenna goes on to complain the weather and everything about Boston. My mind starts to wander about while they are talking. I canât help but think about Eason and all the mess I left behind.
Whatâs he doing right now? Is he still trying to call and text me?
Is he still mad? Or has he moved on already? Maybe not yet but he will eventually. I know I shouldnât but I still feel the urge to cry just thinking that this may be the end for us.
Suddenly Jennaâs cry whips me back to reality, âWait! Stop the car!â
I jerk my head in her direction, âWhat?â
She seems horrified, waving her phone at me, âWe got on the wrong car! This isnât our car! Our car is still at the airport!!â
What the f**k?!
Suddenly a cold shiver runs down my back, as all those horrible news Iâve read before resurface in my mind: Serial Killer disguised as Uber driver abducts young women and brutally murders them in the wild.
âWho the hell are you!â Jenna yells at our driver and smacks the back of his seat.â Stop the car right now or Iâm calling the police!â
âWait, wait, calm down for a second,â our driver takes a look at us through the rearview mirror. âWe are going 80 miles an hour so I canât really stop the car right now. And Natalia, do you really not recognize me?â
Iâm stunned. How did he know my name? Do I really know him?
âLiam Brown. Rings any bell?â
I frown and search my memories. But no, no clue at all.
âWell then I guess your dad didnât tell you about me,â he shrugs.
âMy dad? Are you a friend of his?â.
âMr. Moore showed me a picture of you, Natalia. So thatâs how I recognized you at the airport,â there is a hint of smile in his voice. âWe havenât officially met yet, but my mom is dating your father.â
Me and Jenna exchange a look of shock.
Wait, if his mom is dating my dad, then that makes him my âSorry to frighten you earlier,â he slightly turns his head back and gives me a charming smile. âBut I guess that makes me your stepbrother in a way.â
