Roderick said, “You’ll know when you arrive at the police station. Don’t worry. No matter what happens, I will be there for you, Mela.”

No matter what Melanie said, Roderick seemed calm and carefree.

Roderick continued, “Mela, she still got Michael. There must be nothing serious. Don’t worry too much about her. Okay?”

Every time she looked into Roderick’s eyes, she felt nervous.

Roderick said, “It doesn’t matter, Mela. My arms are reserved only for you!”

Melanie was bewildered hearing his casual and affectionate confession.

Melanie said, “Will you, will you stop talking like this?”

Melanie glared at Roderick.

Roderick said, “I’m simply telling you the truth. Mela, don’t you want to hear the truth?”

He was still smiling and he sounded sincere.

Roderick’s question made Melanie blush.

Melanie felt her face burning in embarrassment. She didn’t know what to say. She wondered whether she preferred the truth from him.

Melanie coughed drily.

She thought, ‘Even if I want to hear the truth, I don’t necessarily want it from you.”

But Melanie didn’t know what to say so she kept silent!

Her hand was still firmly held by Roderick..

Melanie said, “Let go of me. Why do you keep holding my hand?”

Roderick said, “I’m sick, Mela. It’s such a long journey from Beloris to Kdeal. If you don’t let me hold your hand, what should I do?”

Roderick looked aggrieved and even his voice sounded pitiful.

Melanie has no other choice.

Melanie thought, ‘All right, all right! For the sake of your illness, I’ll let you hold my hand. Anyway, I won’t get pregnant because of it!”

Roderick said, “Thank you, Mela!”

Roderick smiled and got closer to Melanie!

Their postures now were very weird.

Roderick and Melanie sat side by side, holding hands. Melanie’s arms were crooked because she was trying to stay away from Roderick as much as possible.

Roderick not only held her hand but also kept staring at her.

Their postures were still weird and the atmosphere was still awkward. Although they were sitting in a top–class luxury car, she felt extremely uncomfortable.

Melanie thought silently, ‘Ah! What did I do to deserve this?

‘Why is Kdeal so far away?

“When will we arrive there?

‘When I get back from Kdeal, I must avoid being in the same car as Roderick again. It is too horrible.”

Thinking about this, Melanie cursed Angie a thousand times in her heart!

Melanie twisted her waist outward to keep away from Roderick!

Roderick said, “I won’t be tired as long as I am holding you in my arms!” As he spoke, he grabbed Melanie’s arm and hugged her tightly.

Despite Melanie’s struggle, he pressed her head against his chest.

Roderick said, “Get some rest. I know you didn’t sleep well last night!”

Melanie said, “Let go of me! I can sleep on my own.”

Melanie grabbed Roderick’s arm around her waist but she couldn’t shake off it.

Roderick said, “It won’t be as cozy as being held in my arms. Have you forgotten what happened last night?”

Roderick held Melanie tightly in his arms, ignoring her struggle.

Melanie smelled a refreshing fragrance surrounding her.

She felt the hot air that Roderick breathed out on her face when he spoke and she felt her face burning.

She was agitated and ashamed and wondered why Roderick still dared to mention what happened last night.

Melanie said, “Last night? Don’t ever mention it again. I slept alone last night, okay?”

Roderick said, “Yes, yes. Mela, you slept alone. I just carried you to your bedroom!”

Hearing this, Melanie felt her whole body burning in embarrassment.

Melanie wanted to refute Roderick’s words but she didn’t know how to do it!

She thought Roderick was too mean because he deliberately talked about things. that would embarrass her.

Roderick said, “You sound like you’re not happy about sleeping alone. Do you want me to sleep with you tonight?”
