Chapter 9
Triplet Mommy’s Triumphant Return
Chapter 9
In the car, Andrew John, who was driving, seemed to want to say something, but he didnât.
Melanie thought to herself, Iâm afraid the dinner wonât be simple tonight.â
When Melanie arrived at the Robertson residence, the Robertson family welcomed her warmly. Melanie couldnât help but feel weird.
It was reported that Steve suffered financial losses after investing in a batch of porcelain, placing Steveâs Art Gallery in a state of crisis.
But the Robertson family seemed to be much more wealthy than before.
When Melanie entered the hall, Tracy greeted her with a smile.
âMela, I miss you so much. Your father is cooking for you today!â said Tracy.
âI heard from Dad that you and Vanessa both wanted me to move back home?â Melanie asked.
As Melanie spoke, she also put on a fake smile.
Tracyâs face fell, but she quickly roused a smile.
âThatâs right. Itâs not safe for you to live outside alone.
âAlthough you are with someone from the Thomas family, you donât know them well. How can they be more reliable than us?â Tracy said.
Then Tracy sighed and pretended to be sad.
âThank God youâre finally back home! You used to care about Vanessa the most.
âAfter what happened that night, Vanessa has been crying in her room every day and hasnât gone out for several days. Please help me persuade her later,â Tracy said.
âOkay,â Melanie said, âbut I want to see my room first.â She sneered in her heart.
âOn, right! Your room has been cleaned up a long time ago. Itâs still the room where you used to live. Have a look and see if you like it,â Tracy said enthusiastically.
Then Melanie went upstairs to her old room.
It looked clean but unfamiliar.
There was nothing in the room/that Melanie used to have.
The curtains, sheets, the bed, the sofa, and the desk were all different.
Even the paintings on the wall bore no resemblance to their former appearance.
Everything was new in the room.

Melanie opened the makeup box and found nothing but a few new cosmetics.
There was not a single trace left of her past belongings.
Melanie held back her anger.
She went out to another room on the corner, twisted the door knob gently, and opened the door.
But the interior of the room was very different. There was nothing but a cabinet.
None of Sherryâs old belongings were kept.
Lush green trees and vibrant red flowers adorned the view outside the window. Birds serenaded the spring sky, creating a warm and delightful atmosphere.
But Melanie suddenly felt cold all over.
How dare they?
As soon as Melanie left, they erased all traces of Melanie and Sherryâs existence.
How dare they!
Melanie rushed out of the room and went downstairs. Seeing Tracy looking at her with a smile, she felt angry.
âWhere are my motherâs things? Where is my motherâs stuff?â Melanie asked.
âMela, your father sold all those books and paintings,â Tracy explained casually while clearing the table.
âThe clothes and accessories are so old that no one wants them, so I donated them to the relief box,â Tracy said.
âWhat? Did he sell them all? And you donated the other stuff?â Melanie questioned.
Melanie felt her blood rushing up to her head.
Tracyâs indifferent voice echoed in Melanieâs ears, âThatâs right. Your mother was my best friend. I have always thought of her.
âBut every time I saw her room and those old things, my heart ached. So did your father.
âWe didnât want to do that either. You can understand me and your father, right?â
âSo youâve thrown away all my stuff, too,â said Melanie.
âMela, when we heard that you had an accident in Solustria, your father and I were almost mad. We didnât even dare to go upstairs.
âWe had no other better way, so we called someone to clean both rooms,â Tracy said.
Melanie listened dully to the murdererâs explanation.

âItâs gone. Itâs all cleaned up, Melanic murmured.
She grabbed Steve who rushed out of the kitchen..
âDid you dispose of all my motherâs things and keep nothing?â Melanie asked angrily.
Steve glanced at Tracy and said immediately, âMela, I didnât know what else to do.
âEver since I heard about your accident, I have felt hopeless. When I saw the stuff, I always thought of you and your mother. You can forgive me, right?â
Tracy also said, âMela, we are happy that you can come back safely. Letâs forget about the past and live happily together in the future, okay?â
Melanie felt a dizzying rush, her vision flickering between dimness and brightness.
Tracy said they were a family, and Steve showed an apologetic look.
Suddenly, a red figure came downstairs and called Melanieâs name.
It was Vanessa!
Melanie widened her blank eyes and tried to see the person in front of her, but she couldnât see anything except darkness.
âMelanie, youâre back. I miss you so much,â Vanessa shouted and hugged Melanie.
