Mr. President You Are The Daddy Of My Triplets
59 59- A Mess
After Rafael left, the silence still lingered in the air. Gerard gave a c fusing look to Flint, âWhat!â
Flint snapped at him, âDonât act like a fool, Gerard. We all know he resembles Alex a lot!â
âResembles, Alex?â Gerard repeated.
âIâll get us some beer,â Sophie once again left Marissa alone and went to the kitchen.
âYou contacted the kidsâ father?â He seemed to have difficulty wrapping his head around the fact.
âNo, I didnât. He contacted us,â Marissa brought him to the couch, ânow tell me about your business trip. This
one took longer,â
She mouthed a silent thank you to Sophia who was handing over the beer cans to them.
âI know, Marrisa. And I missed you every minute of it!â Sophia wanted to roll her eyes. This dude knew Marissa never encouraged his advances and still he was reminding her how much he missed her.
âYou look tired,â Sophie remarked and took another

sofa right across him, folding her legs under her.
âYesâ he took a chug from his can, because I just came straight from the airport.
âStraight from the airport!â Marissa and Sophie both repeated after him but for some reason, his mood seemed grey.
âSo, what this dude⦠who is supposedly your kidsâ father, is doing here?â he was trying his best to keep the sarcasm out of his tone, but they did get the hint.
Marissa wasnât planning to back off. She gave him a sweet smile and raised the beer can in her hand. âCheers for coming back home. G. Now you tell me. What do YOU think about it? Why was he here? You telll me.â She demanded with a poised smile.
There was so much confidence on her face and in her actions that for a minute Gerard was speechless.
âNo. I meant to say isâ¦â he took time in gulping down the canned liquid. âIf he is their father then maybe you could have sent the kids to his place. I know it has to be your decision and I respect it. Marissa. But the way be tried to hurt you in the past â¦â
Wherever hannened hannened in the past. He might

have hurt me, but he is still their father. I canât tell my kids that they are supposed to meet him at his place because he is not welcome here.â
Gerard went quiet after that.
It seemed like he was not liking it. His company sent him away for a business trip to close some important deals and here Marissa got busy meeting her ex.
He felt hurt.
âThatâs good,â his expression suddenly transformed, âI like your decision, Marissa, I wish my Mom had decided the same for me. She never let me meet my
father.â
Sophie and Marissa nodded in sympathy,
Gerard got to his feet and asked for their empty cans. He then disposed of them in the kitchen bin.
âI guess I must leave now. Already jetâlegged due to long flight.â He stretched and, in the process, his tâshirt lifted a little giving a glimpse of his wellâtoned
abs.
âBy the way he straightened, âI can also stay here if Marissa will let me⦠in her room. Haâha, both the

girls were at a loss for words on his poor sense of humor.
âCome on, you two! I was just kidding.â
He then ruffled Sophieâs hair and kissed Marissaâs cheek before going out of the apartment.
When the door slammed shut, Mariss
eyed each other and fell back tiredly.
d Sophia
âGosh! An ideal start to the weekend,â Sophie muttered and started laughing.
Marissa sighed, âAgree!â she said looking up at the ceiling.
âNow what, Mar?â Sophie asked her and Marissa knew what she was talking about.
Rafael Sinclair.
He seemed mad.
What would she do now?
âThat was hell awkward, man!â Sophie remarked again.
Marissa tried to remember the moment when he
pulled her to him and touched her hair. Her hand
raised and touched the same hair strand.

âYou never leave your hair down!â he had said to her.
God! Whatâs the matter with me? He was here for the
kids! Not me!
âDonât worry,â Sophie patted her shoulder, âGo and get some sleep. Weâll think in the morning,â she yawned loudly.
âRight!â Marissa stood up and headed to her room. She needed to come up with a solution after getting some much needed sleep.
However, throughout the night she couldnât get a peaceful sleep and kept twisting and turning in her
bed.
This was one of those nights when she used to dream of all the good moments she spent with Rafael.
The way they used to talk, the way he used to touch her, and the love Nina Sinclair used to shower at her.
âNever tell Rafael that you are Marissa Aaron. The moment he knows you are not Valerie Aaron, you might lose him, Marissa. I beg you to keep him safe.â
She could still see Nina joining her palms together while begging her.

Early morning when she got up there was just time thought on her mind

âYou duhet sleep well, she felt Flintâs bound in her hair when she was dozing with her head down on the kiti hen counter
Poor, Mar, Nophic switched on the electric kettle for her lemon grass tea that she used to take on an empty stomach
âMar How about I make you this tea? It will keep your belly flat and dissolve all your fat. They say youâll lose weight in no time.â
Marissa showed her a thumbs up sign without lifting
her head
âOK. Got it. Forget about this teaâ Sophie then turned to Flint, âGrandpa. Make her coffee. She canât even seem to talk with that swollen faceâ Sophia then eyed Marissa with a meaningful pout, âI was thinking to give

around our belliesâ¦â This time Marissa didnât let her
finish and at last raised her face,
âYour tire, Sophie. I donât have any tires. Itâs just a
pouch⦠a small, baby pouch,â Sophie observed her face with a smile,
âYeah. Agree. Pouch!â
âAnd you canât lose that belly tire of yours if you keep snacking those sweet treats. Thatâs the reason I take very little sugar,â Marissa snapped with narrowed
eyes.
âYeah! I have seen how you avoid those sugar cravings by eating lots of ice cream!â Sophie attacked back and that flared Marissaâs rage.
âDonuts and iceâcreams are your department, not
mine!â
âGirls! Can you two shut up, please ⦠There is
someone at the door! I donât know who will visit us at
this ungodly hourâ¦â Poor Flint who was pouring coffee into cups tried to move their focus away from this morningâs fight but none of the girls heard him.
âFine!â he threw his arms in the air and went to open
the door

However, both the girls had to hold their verbal judo and froze when Rafael Sinclair entered the kitchen with a huge grin on his face. He looked handsome in that casual tâshirt and cotton trousers, w dark shades on his face.
âHello! I brought waffles for you allâ¦â he lifted the brown paper bags that he was carrying and tossed a huge container of Vanilla ice cream on the counter, âAnyone up for a waffle and iceâcream combo?â
Marissa wanted to crawl inside that kitchen drain hole. He looked so perfect, while she?
Well! She looked like a mess.
Smelly teeth, unwashed face, tired eyes, and
disheveled hair.
What was he doing here, early morning? Wasnât he mad, last night?
