Chapter 57
Mafia Kings: Valentino: Dark Mafia Romance Series #6 by Olivia Thorn
Mafia Kings: Valentino: Chapter 57 I thought about Cat all evening.
She was the last thing on my mind when I fell asleep â
And the first thing I thought about when I woke up.
With morning wood, I might add.
I didnât do anything about it, though.
I was planning on saving all my energy for her.
I took the ten grand Cat had given me, stuffed it in my pocket, and went down to breakfast.
Paolo didnât show up until I was finished.
When he did, he looked pissed off.
Too bad.
âWhereâre we going today?â I asked.
âRagusa,â he said grumpily.
âHow far away is that?â
âTwo and a half hours.â
Good to know.
When we got to the car, I got in the backseat and demanded Paoloâs phone.
âWhy?â he asked angrily.
âBecause I need to tell Cat where weâre going.â
He was sullen as he gave me his phone... but he still gave it to me.
When I called, Cat answered sleepily â because it was still 6 oâclock in the fucking morning.
She also sounded apprehensive â probably because she thought it was Paolo calling her.
â...hello?â
âHey, babe.â
âHey!â she said brightly, now fully awake. âWhatâre YOU doing calling me?â
âI wanted to hear your beautiful voice.â
âAwwww...â
I could practically hear her blushing over the phone.
âAnd I wanted to tell you where to meet me today. Weâre going to Ragusa.â
âRagusa?â
âYeah. I wonât be there for another two and a half hours, and Iâve still got to deal with Rocco. I might not be able to get away early. But whether I do or not, go ahead and get us a really nice hotel room. Like, a great room. Then text the details to Paolo, and he can tell me where to meet you.â
âOkay!â There was a pause for a few seconds â then she said, âGoogle Maps says Ragusaâs only an hour away from me.â
âGood â go back to sleep if you can. Get some rest, because Iâm going to give you a good workout later on.â
She giggled.
Paolo rolled his eyes in the rearview mirror, which annoyed me.
âAlright, babe, I gotta go. I got Paolo listening in, and I donât want him hearing all the stuff Iâm going to do to you later.â
She giggled again. âAlright... Iâll see you soon.â
âSee you soon.â
I hung up and handed the phone back to Paolo.
Neither of us said a word to each other the rest of the way.
