His Promise: The Mafia’s Babies
BEAU AND ISOBEL
7 HOURS
âArenât you nervous about meeting your family?â Isobel who had been looking at Beau for quite some tirolled his eyes at her and stared out the window.
They had followed Christianâs instructions and after he had cleaned himself up they had made their way near the Lambertiâs estate. Christian was very clear in his instructions and they both had an idea that it mbecause the combination of a rat and Garcia did not look well.
Beau could still not stand Isobel and wished for all of this to be over so he did never have to see her agaof not being able to choke her had burdened him, and Isobel speaking to him did not make it any bettera lot, do you?â Isobel sighed and leaned back in her seat. âBut youâve never been that much of a talker, s
âYou tried to kill my twin sister and my niece, whatâs there to talk about?â Beau spoke for the first time. Hwaiting for Christianâs phone callâso he didnât have to be alone with her.
âI donât understand you or Christianâ¦Iâve saved your life?â Isobel spoke offended. She had not expectedher and she knew that she still had a long way to go, but she at least expected them to be a bit grateful.âYouâre so selfish,â Beau whispered. He couldnât believe how she could not see how wrong she was. âIâmIsobel frowned her eyebrows.
âI said that you are selfish. Donât you feel even a bit embarrassed that you have to walk through that houone, not even your own father wants you here?â He spoke a bit louder this time. âIf it wasnât for you, nonbeen in this mess, and maybe my sister can forgive you, and maybe I am a followerâbut even I have a lifar as Iâll go.â
âI will never forgive you!â Beau spat in her face. Those words felt like a dagger through Isobelâs heart andhead so she didnât have to face him. Unlike Christian and Serena, Beau had not even shown her the slighand was a complete cold stone. âAnd when all of this is over, you better stay away from my sister and myChristianâs phone call came at the right time and she didnât hesitate to pick up her phone. âWhere are yoâWeâre near your familyâs house like youâve asked us to.â Isobelâs voice cracked as she wiped away her teyou okay?â Christian asked.
Despite forgiving her wanted to ignore her feelings, but he couldnât. Isobel was one of the few who had side when there were barely any left, and he would always care for her well-being, just like Vincenzo.
âIâm in a car with motherfucking Beau who has let out his feelings about wanting to choke me, do you refine?â She hysterically sobbed while Beau rolled his eyes in disbelief. âWell, thatâs a way to describe him.âchuckled.
âBeau, I know how you feelâbut can you please work alongâthe last thing I need at the moment isâ¦thisighed. Beau glared at Isobel and let out an exhausted breath. âFine.â
âGood, I knew I could trust youâbut I have one more request.â Christian carefully addressed the situatioBeau obeyed his every wish, but there was nothing he could do about it. âI donât care about how much yfamily, and thatâs between the two of youâbut please just until everything is over, please try to work aloBeau clenched his fist and wondered how far he was actually willing to go, but the moment he thought ahe had a change of mind. At the moment his feelings were not a priority.
âYes, fine I got it.â
âYouâre so different from Serena, you listen.â Christian spoke relieved. âIâm at the gates, you guys can coIt wasnât long until Beau and Isobel walked to the gates in awkward silence and met up with Christian. âWthis?â One of the guards asked with a confused look on his face, but Christian shrugged him off. âTheyâreâLetâs go, we donât have much time,â Christian spoke. As he walked through the driveway he immediatelpresence of all the vehicles and knew that Lucio had followed his instructions. âBeau, a few hours from nsurrender herself, Iâm giving you a heads up but please donât freak out.â Christian warned him. âJohnny aher, theyâll take good care of her until itâs time.â He spoke.
The only ones aware of his plan besides Vince were Isobel and Beau. âI understand.â
âGood, Iâm not going to tell them anything about keeping Vince and Luis alive.â Christian spoke.
âWonâtdanger?â Beau asked. This whole idea of handing Serena over had bothered him, but he trusted Christianto follow Christian, the same way Serena trusted him. âVince will keep her safe, Serena will come out of twonât harm her unless youâre there.â
âCanât I just go?â Beau tried to convince him. âNo, Fabio sees you as an appetizer and Serena as the maibetter to hand her over and not get anyone on our side killed in the process so we can at least have somIsobel told Beau.
âRight, you should know as best.â Beau sighed. âBeau, donât worryâthis will all be over in seven hours. Syou know that.â Christian praised her. He knew as best and even got to experience how Serenaâs personaafter her pregnancy. âYouâre right, she is and she will be fine.â Beau agreed.
âHow did it go with Vince?â Beau asked and listened as Christian told him what had happened.
Despite whappened Beau knew that Vince would eventually do the right thing.
âI feel extremely uncomfortable,â Isobel spoke and tried her hardest to ignore the looks everyone was giknew she deserved it, but she could not understand how no one had moved on.
Christian led them through the mansion until they had arrived at his dadâs office and made them wait besliding door. âWhat are you doing here?â Aldo Sala asked as he opened the sliding door and glared fromdaughter he had disowned. âDad,â Isobel whispered.
âSheâs with me, itâs okay sir,â Christian reassured him, but to Aldo, that wasnât enough. âChristian, why dordered everyone to come hereâI thought we had one more week.â He ignored his daughterâs existencan answer.
Christian sighed and looked at the Lambertiâs, the Alfonzoâs, and all the others who had not realized his could only see Beau and Isobel. âThings have changed sir, come we have a lot to discuss and not that muChristian and Aldo walked through, while Isobel leaned her head against the wall and Beau looked to hisbrothers through the sliding door. They still donât know, Beau thought to himself.
It had bothered him that despite him and Serena having the same eyes, which a parent shouldâve been aMatteo had failed to do so many times. It had even made him jealous when Serena told him that they allknew it right away.
âYou were right.â Beau gulped after a silence of nearly ten minutes. It was taking a long time and Christiaexplain. Isobel turned her head and looked at him. âWhat?â She hissed, as she was not in the mood to dehis rude comments.
âAbout me being nervous, youâre right. They are the same people who handed me to Fabio while they hpower to fight for me, but they chose not to.â Beau spoke. The thought of his parents giving him away likmeat, while they send away Serena in the hopes of saving her from Fabio and giving her a better life madbut he knew that she was no to blame. Perhaps Serena had a reason to forgive them, but he really didnâtwas to be there for Serena.
âTrust me, the Alfonzoâs are warm people and within a few minutes theyâll be squeezing the life out of yoon the other hand?â Isobel chuckled as she looked at the Salaâs who were all giving her a side-
eye. Gettiher father meant getting disowned by her entire family.
âYouâre still family, itâs not that they donât want to forgive you. They need time and what you did was vercanât accept them to welcome you back with open armsâso you should wait for a bit.â Beau tried his hadown.
âThen maybe you should follow your own advice and forgive the Alfonzoâs.â Isobel smiled at him but Behead. âYou donât understand, thatâs differentâyou never got tortured, belittledââ
âItâs actually really sad, Iâm so sorry for all of that.â Isobel pouted and reached out to touch his cheek, buface to stop her from doing so. âDonât ever touch me.â
âIf thatâs what you want.â Isobel shrugged her shoulders. âBeau, look!â She nudged his shoulder and poiAlfonzo who held his hand against his heart and looked right at Beau.
Even though the sliding door, it wasnât that difficult to notice Matteo Alfonzoâs emotional reaction.
Just lelse they had all turned around their heads to look at Beau, who had gotten self-conscious and lowered Matteo Alfonzo took several steps forward and threw open the sliding so he could face Beau. âLet me loMatteo gasped and held a polite distance.
Beau slowly raised his head and looked into his fatherâs tearful eyes while Marcello and Emilio had also sâCarmen is going to pack her bags and leave the family,â Marcello spoke with big eyes as he placed his hshoulder and pulled him into a tight hug.
Beau was aware of Carmen and the stories Serena had told him. Carmen, their little sister who was not thcompared to Luke, their younger brother.
âWelcome home,â Marcello whispered while Emilio joined into the hug. Beau had no choice but to hug tcould easily see that Isobel was right, they were warm peopleâbut his issue was not with his brothers.
They had both pulled away and took a step aside so Matteo could look at him. Matteo could sense the ahis eyes and did not have the guts to reach out to him, so he grabbed his hand instead. âSo your sister dyou all to herself.â He smiled and rubbed Beauâs hand as a tear left his eye.
âThis reunion is very nice, but we only have around six hours leftâso if you all mind.â Christian invited thgave Isobel a look. âI think itâs better if you uh..â
âYes, I understand.â Isobel smiled through her pain. âIâll just wait here.â
She was well aware of the kind of strings Christian probably had to pull, just for her to be here and wouldâI would like to introduce you to everyone, but we should do that some other timeâthis is my dad, youâtimes.â Christian led him to Lucio who was still in shock by the news. âItâs nice to meet you.â Lucio smiledEspecially to him, it felt as if another half of the guilt he had felt had washed away.
He did not want to leawith any unfinished business, and considered Beau to be part of it. âThis one looks different from Serenavery cold and he doesnât look all that excited to meet us either.â Franco Lamberti had pushed everyone alook at Beau.
âGrandpa, please stop this.â Christian sighed, but Beau shook his head. âDonât worry, itâs okay.â He chucsomething new to him and something he had often heard, but he had no reason to smile. âI meant no oftold us all about how youâve helped us.â
âItâs better for you to be at this side because weâre not letting a single Garcia breathe, right Christian?â Fwhile Christian looked the other way. It was beyond him how they were all so prepared to create a bloodwhich he was trying to avoid. âSo what youâve told us is that Fabio wonât harm Serena as long as they stasighed, while Beau listened to his fatherâs words with clenched fists.
Even until now all he cared about waâWe can send someone to deal with Vincenzo and Luis,â Gio suggested. âNo, I will deal with them, I told them and I donât know if I can trust you.â Christian spoke.
âWe donât have any time for this, we should go over everything.â He spoke, but there was only one thinghis mind.
Serena and the baby. He began to think that maybe he was crazy for handing over Serena to keep Fabio forcing Serena to surrender herself.
He couldnât even imagine how betrayed she would feel after seeing Luis and Vince alongside Fabio, but that Serena was a smart person and would soon realize on her own that it was all part of the plan and thnever betray her ever again.
