He smiled and walked forward. “Are you guys Mr. Zachmann’s friends?”

She nodded slightly. “Hello, we are his friends. Who are you?”

There was a smile in the man’s hazel eyes. “My name is Sable. I met Mr. Zachmann on the snow mountain. He has a high fever, so he asked me to pick you guys up.”

“Thank you” Stephanie asked. “Is he seriously ill?”

Sable smiled, “It’s a bit serious but not too serious. He had a fever of 102.2°F, but he ate two plates of pasta in the evening and had a good appetite.”

Stephanie curled her lips. It was so typical of Ronan. She said, “Then please take us to him.”

Sable nodded to Vincent and Stephanie. “Okay, I’ll take you to your own room first and then take you to his room.”

Sable took Vincent and Stephanie to the guest room on the second floor, handed Vincent the room card, and said, “The check–out time is twelve o’clock at noon the next day. If you want to renew it, you can tell the owner.”

Sable smiled, “Mr. Zachmann, I brought your friends here.”

Ronan got up quickly and his eyes lit up when he saw them. “Stephie, Vincent, you’re here.”

They came to the bedside. Stephanie asked, “How do you feel?”
