Chapter 48
Marry My Ex’s Uncle After Rebirth
Chapter 48
Stephanieâs opinion represented Vincentâs.
âHow do you think we should punish him, Stephie?â asked Kevin.
Stephanie glanced coldly at Douglas, who showed no remorse for his wrongdoing âAlthough Vincent and I didnât have a wedding ceremony, weâve gotten the marriage license. My opinion represents Vincentâs. According to Article 39 of the family rules of the Fletcher family, any member who harms their kin shall be immediately expelled from the family registry, forfeiting any inheritance,â
Douglas hadnât anticipated Stephameâs relentless determination, which pushed him to a dead end.
Ever since the engagement party, he suffered significant losses due to Stephanie.
His eyes turned crimson with rage. He pressed his tongue against his molars, wishing to tear her apart.
Lorelai knelt before Kevin and Ellen. âDouglas merely spoke out of anger. Heâs simply taking the blame for things heâs not responsible for. You two raised him and know better than anyone he wouldnât have such malicious intentions.â
âSilence!â Kevin flared up. âThe evidence is right before us. What more is there to debate? Your son is the apple of your eye, isnât he? My son is too. You have spoilt Douglas!â
Lorelai crawled forward, clutching Kevinâs trousers. âKevin, please spare Douglas, considering itâs his first offense.â
Kevin snorted. âImpossible. The parties involved will have the final say. Since Stephie speaks for Vincent, weâll go by her decision.â
Lorelai widened her eyes in disbelief. âKevinâ¦â
âStop. Stephie has been lenient toward Douglas if reported to the police, Douglas will be behind bars,â Kevin said.
Then, he looked at Douglas âFrom now on, you shall not inhent any of the Fletcher familyâs assets nor engage in any investments or financial activities in the name of the Fletcher family. Also, you are forbidden from setting foot on the Fletcher residence
Lorelai glanced at Frederick and Edith, âHey, please speak up for Douglasâ
However, Frederick shook his head, âHe brought this upon himselfâ
Meanwhile, Edith remained silent, silently agreeing with Frederick,
Olivia, on the sidelines, was merely there for the spectacle and wouldnât meddle in such affairs.
Douglas loathed Vincent and Stephanie to the corn, wishing he could tear them limb from limb.
He gritted his teeth, turned, and walked toward the door.
âWait,â someone exclaimed.
Douglas turned to see Stephanie striding toward him, raising her hand for a resounding slap, followed by another.
âHow dare you hit me, Douglas shouted.
Stephanie then kicked him in the knee. Douglas, already in pain from the previous blows, collapsed to one knee.
âI hit you for a reason,â Stephanie said coldly, ber eyes radiating a chilling aura. âDouglas, fun this moment on, if you dare harm Vincent again, I will

make sure you suffer. Scram!â
Douglas had no strength left to rise. He glanced at Lorelai nearby, who finally approached to help him up.
Lorelai hesitated initially, not wanting to assist him, knowing that associating with him could bring trouble.
However, considering the situation, she couldnât stay at the Fletcher residence any longer, even if she didnât assist him.
She had to help Douglas, or else she might lose him. Hence, without a choice, she picked a side.
Lorelai rushed over to support Douglas. âKevin, Ellen, Iâm sure thereâs a misunderstanding here. Letâs wait for Raphael to return and explain.â
Kevin waved his hand dismissively. âNo need for explanations. Who knows if they have the same intention?â
Lorelai bit her lip, glaring at Stephanie before helping Douglas leave.
â
Stephanie watched Douglas limp away and thought to herself, âDouglas, this is just the beginning. Your fate, along with Florenceâs, will be utterly miserable. Iâm getting revenge!â
The engine roared as Douglasâ car departed from the Fletcher residence.
Kevin coughed a few times out of frustration. âDouglas has disappointed me. I never thought he would harm Vincent. Itâs truly disheartening!â
Stephanie turned to Kevin, squatting before him,

him, and reached out to feel his pulsa. âYour anger has affected your health.â Subsequently, she took a small bottle from her bag and poured a red tiny pill.
âThis pill tastes good. Have a try. Itâs good for your health and blood circulation,â she said.
Without any doubt, Kevin took the pill and swallowed it without hesitation. However, he hadnât tasted any taste. âIt does taste good. Can you give me another one?â
âYou only need to take one pill a month. Iâll bring you a bottle when the time comes,â Stephanie explained.
After taking the pill, Kevin felt relaxed almost instantly. âWhat magic medicine is this?â he asked.
Vincent took over the conversation. âItâs from Dr. Summer.â
Upon hearing that, Kevin nodded. âNo wonder. But does Stephie know medical skills?â
Stephanie chuckled. âJust a little.â
Kevin looked at Vincent. âSince you know Summer, why not ask her to be Stephieâs mentor? Sheâs talented and has a knack for medicine.â
Vincent smiled faintly. âWe can give it a try.â
Kevin sighed. âI never expected such a thing to happen to the Fletcher family. Itâs truly lamentable.â
Ellen wiped her tears. âI never thought Douglas would turn out like this.â
Kevin shook his head, âIndeed.â
âLetâs not dwell on unhappy matters. I have some good news to announce, Stephanie interjected.
Ellen subconsciously glanced at Stephanieâs belly, then quickly averted her gaze. She thought, âWhat am I expecting, considering Vincentâs condition?â

Stephanie awkwardly forced a smile before clearing her throat. âItâs estimated that Christie will regain consciousness in about a week.â

Frederick and Edith finally understood why Vincent had summoned them. It wasnât just to witness the spectacle but mainly to announce this good news.
Edith excitedly grasped Oliviaâs hand. âOlil Your sister is finally waking up! Itâs been three yearsâ
There was a flash of hidden resentment in Oliviaâs eyes, but she maintained a joyful expression. âThatâs right. Itâs great that Christie is about to wake up.â
Frederick was teary-eyed. âThree years, and finally, thereâs hope. Dr. Summer is truly remarkableTM
Oliviaâs eyes glistened with tears. âYes, sheâs truly amazing. If only we had met her earlier.â
Vincent looked at Frederick. âFrederick, have you found out who was behind the poisoning?â
Frederick shook his head. âAlter Christie left, that person didnât dare to act recklessly.â
Vincent nodded. âIt doesnât matter. Weâll find out sooner or later.â
At Junchtime, everyone sat around the table for lunch.
Just then, Olivia received a call. She apologized, âGrandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Uncle Vincent, Stephanie, I apologize, but I have to leave early. Thereâs an unexpected addition to my shooting schedule with my film crewâ
Ellen sighed. âIt always seems like youâre in a rush whenever you come home. Well then, off you go.â
Olivia stepped out of the house and got into her car. Once seated
