Chapter 1039
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 1039
Cassie looked like an angel that descended from heaven.
Nash was slightly stunned.
âCassie, open your eyes and take a look!â
A smile appeared on Nashâs pale face.
Cassie slowly opened her eyes.
A dreamlike scene appeared before her eyes, making her eyes sparkle.
âWow, itâs beautiful! How did you do it?â
Cassie ran and spun around the flowers.
Little butterflies were dancing around.
She smiled happily. Suddenly, death did not seem that scary.
âDo you like it?â Nash smiled gently.
âYes, I love it!
âI didnât think you were so romantic! But it feels like something is
missing!â
Cassie bit her fingers while thinking.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up.
She took off the whistle hanging around her neck and blew it.
At the foot of the mountain, Ashley and Bertram looked at the lush
mountain in the distance in shock.
Bertram said in disbelief, âH-How is a human capable of that?â
All the flowers, plants, and trees within a kilometer radius had.
withered, but everything on the mountain where Nash was had been
revived.
It was simply outrageous!
Ashley looked shocked too. âIâm afraid that our president didnât use
martial arts to achieve that!â
Bertram trembled. âDo you meanâ¦â
Ashley nodded.
Bertramâs heart stirred up a storm.
Meanwhile, Ishmael and Callum were smoking by the fire.
Suddenly, the two boxes behind them made a clattering sound.
The father and son were stunned.
A bitter smile appeared on Callumâs face.
Those were Cassieâs parasitic bugs.
Did they want to say goodbye to Cassie too?
Callum sighed and opened the lids of the boxes.
A firefly-like bug flew out of the box, flapping its wings toward the
mountain.
While it was flying, it split into two, then four, then eight.
Soon, a large group of glowing green bugs were flying toward the
mountain.
Callum sighed. âDad, do you resent Nash?â
Ishmael smoked his cigarette and said with a faint smile, âWhatâs
there to be resentful about?â
âIf Nash had agreed to be with Cassie, she wouldnât have been so sad and left without saying goodbye-let alone fall victim to Abrahamâs soul-eater bug!â
âThat doesnât mean itâs not our fault either,â Ishmael said with dull
eyes.
Callum lowered his head and remained silent.
Ishmael continued to smoke, seemingly in deep thought.
On the mountaintop, Nash and Cassie were lying on the grass.
The moon shone brightly overhead while the stars sparkled.
The air was filled with the freshness of spring, making the atmosphere around them all the more beautiful.
Butterflies were dancing gracefully and fireflies were chasing each
other
It was heaven on earth.
âItâs a full moon tonight!â
Cassie stared at the full moon with her twinkling eyes and murmured.
This was the last time she could admire the moon..
âA manâs life is a tale of joy and sorrow, farewells and unions.
âThe moon, with its phases of shadow and light, waxes and wanes in
tune.
âSuch is the way of life, a truth forever keen.
âWherein perfection falters, a timeless scene.â
Cassie expressed her inner feelings with poetry.
Nashâs heart was filled with sorrow, and tears fell from his eyes.
Cassie turned sideways and smiled.
âAre you crying because of me?â
Nash rubbed his eyes. âThereâs sand in my eyes. How can the Smiling Grim Reaper shed tears that easily?â
Cassie smiled and said, âWhen you hugged me just now, your tears
fell into my mouth. They were very saltyâ¦â
After saying that, she lay on the grass again and asked softly, âIf we meet in another world, will you marry me there?â
Nash nodded without hesitation. âYes⦠If you survive, Iâll marry you in
this life!â
