Melody turned to Elsabeth with a warm smile. “Elsie, I can’t thank you

enough!”

Elsabeth giggled. “Come on, we’re like sisters! I owe you big time. If it weren’t for you and the Stone family, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My company’s raking in over half a million each month!”

Elsabeth had just finished college and was starting her own business when she met Melody.

Her parents had sold their house to give her the money to start up.

She was determined to make it big and return home a success.

Luck was not on her side, though. She got a tough reality check when she put all her money into the stock market after trusting her cousin’s

advice.

In less than a week, she lost it all.

She hit rock bottom and even thought about jumping off the Xanthalos River Bridge.

That was when she ran into Melody.

They clicked instantly, like they had known each other forever. Melody did not think twice before giving Elsabeth two million to kick-start her business again.

Tina took a big gulp of clear liquor and immediately started coughing.

She was not used to drinking, but she felt so angry about the injustice Melody was facing that she just had to let it out.

Elsabeth let out a huff. “They’re all ungrateful. Without Mel’s help,

would they be living so comfortably now?”

Melody looked down, took a small sip of her drink, and forced a smile.

“We can’t really blame them. My family’s enemies are just too strong.”

“You’re too nice. That’s your problem,” Elsabeth said, giving Melody a

look.

Melody’s smile grew wider. “Let’s just enjoy our meal and drinks. I’ve

missed the liver from this place!”

She picked up a liver with a mischievous twinkle in her eye and put it on Nash’s plate. “Try this. The liver here is famous!”

Nash raised an eyebrow, grabbed the liver with his fork, and popped it into his mouth. “How did you know I like liver?”

He suddenly thought of the time he invited Queenie to have liver and

haggis soup.

Melody paused, surprised. She thought most people did not like liver

Elsabeth, sitting next to them, pushed her plate toward Melody with a playful pout. “I want some too,” she said in a flirty tone, making

Austin’s heart race.

Everyone at the table was eating and talking.

Elsabeth and Melody started talking about Austin. “Austin just got

back from overseas,” Elsabeth said with a big smile. “He’s now the boss of a finance company!”

After she finished speaking, she wrapped her arms around Melody’s

neck and whispered, “Plus, he’s from the Kennedys of Capiton!”

Melody glanced at Austin, surprised. She then smiled and said, ‘

That’s awesome! The Kennedys are super powerful. You’re going to

be living the high life!”

Elsabeth laughed softly. “Once I’m part of their family, I’ll help you get

even!”

Melody’s eyes filled with tears in an instant.

Nash, overhearing Melody and Elsabeth’s chat, took a peek at Austin

too.

He did look a bit like Atlas.

Austin acted as if he did not hear anything. He just focused on his

drink and food.

He seemed a little sad.

Nash poured a drink and offered a toast, “How about a drink?”
