Chapter 1174
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 1174
âW-Winston, look. That beautiful woman looks like Melody Stone.
Sheâs my idol. Quick, go get her autograph for me!â
Wendy was so excited she nearly began jumping up and down.
She did not chase after any celebrities, but that did not mean she did
not have any idols.
Ever since she could remember, she had sworn to become like
Melody after she grew up.
Now, she was so excited to see her idol in person that she nearly
began crying.
âRemove the words âlooks likeâ from your sentence. That is Melody Stone⦠I never imagined she and Mr. Calcraft to be friends!â
A look that was equal parts envy and admiration appeared in
Winstonâs eyes.
Wendy dashed over, unable to wait any longer.
She was determined to get her idolâs signature today, no matter what
it took.
If permissible, she would like to get a photo with her as well.
Naturally, Melody noticed Wendy running over, and she also heard Wendy exclaim that she wanted her autograph. She looked at the rearview mirror and glanced at Nash as she asked, âDo you know
those two?â
Nashâs eyes were shut, but he replied, âYes, I do!â
The corner of Melodyâs mouth curved upward. âIn that case, Iâll give her an autograph so that I wonât embarrass you!â
Nash chuckled. âWhy, thank you so much!â
Melody was in a good mood that day and even got out of the car to
take pictures with Wendy.
The driver was a man in his 40s. He glanced through the rearview mirror from time to time to sneak glances at Nash.
Though Nash had not opened his eyes, he could still sense everything
around him using his energy.
Melody returned to the car after about ten minutes had passed. Instead of getting into the front passenger seat, she got into the back
seat instead.
Nash asked, âHow was todayâs battle?â
Melody smiled slightly. âTotal victory, of course. The Eve household is probably in a state of total panic right now!â
Fulcrum Group had a market value of 100 billion dollars.
However, it had only taken her one day to have their market value
down by 60 billion dollars.
Nash rarely saw Melody smile, and he smiled alongside her before asking, âTonightâs dinner wonât just be an ordinary dinner, will it?â
Melody lowered her head. She seemed like a child who had done something wrong as she said, âItâs a dinner with the authorities of
Sagen!â
Fulcrum Group was a company worth 100 billion dollars, and the fact that their market value had gone down to 60 billion dollars in one day had caused plenty of other chain reactions to be kicked into action.
Dozens of small and medium-sized enterprises were panic-stricken, and dozens of employees had received news that they would be laid
off.
That had attracted the attention of Sagenâs governmental authorities.
âIâm not close to Sagenâs authorities either. They might not even care
about my presence!â
Nash pinched the bridge of his nose, acting as if he had been put in a difficult position.
Melody blinked. âIâm sure you can do it. Real men never say no!â
Nash took his phone out so that he could make a call. Then, he abruptly asked, âHow will you thank me if I take care of this for you?â
Melodyâs heart skipped a beat, and a blush appeared on her face as she gazed into Nashâs dark eyes. âHow do you want me to thank you
âWe can discuss that later!â
Nash smirked as he dialed Hendrixâs number.
âMr. Calcraftâ¦â
âThereâs something I need the Sagen governorâs help with. Do you think you could help me pull some strings?â
âIs that all?â
Hendrix sounded somewhat huffy. âI could even make you head governor if thatâs what you want!â
Nash pursed his lips. âI have no interest in becoming a government officer. But could you help me out on this matterâ¦â
He told Hendrix the details of Melodyâs predicament.
At the parking lot of the Empire Hotel, there was a black Audi parked
there.
The governor of Sagen, Zachariah Dune, spoke to Saul on the phone.
âMr. Dune, you have to help me out here. The Eve family pays over three billion dollars worth of taxes every year!â
Saul sniffled as he wailed into the phone.
Not even in his wildest dreams would he have ever imagined that his downfall would be brought to him by a woman in her 20s.
Other than Fulcrum Group, the other businesses ran by the Eve fam
had also been hit hard.
Zachariah said in a solemn tone, âDonât worry, Mr. Saul. Iâve alrea arranged a meeting with Melody Stone. Sheâll stop whatever sheâs
doing today!â
Fulcrum Group was one of Sagenâs ten largest companies.
