Chapter 190
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 190
Nash sighed. âLetâs sit down and talk. I hope you can tell us the truth. Otherwise, Jade and Henderson will also be implicated for helping you.â
It was because of Jadeâs help that they had gotten rid of Wesleyâs affiliation to his family, thus avoiding the Inspection Department.
If everyone accountable was pursued, Jade would definitely be investigated.
The old man, Walker, nodded with tears in his eyes. âItâs rather noisy in the restaurant. Letâs talk at my house.â
The restaurantâs backyard was their houseâs front yard.
Old Walker led them into the living room of the house he was renting for cheap before scurrying about to serve them water.
Nash looked at Kale, who was in handcuffs, and said, âCaptain Holt, why donât you uncuff him?
××
Jupiter hesitated. âThis kid practices-â
Nash smiled. âItâs okay, Iâll step up if he tries anything.â
Jupiter had heard about Nash being a Golden Amulet Master, so nothing should happen with him here. With that, he took out the key and uncuffed Kale.
Kale rubbed his wrist before then kicking his leg toward Nash.
He wanted to see what this young man in his early 20s was made of for him to have the courage to speak so arrogantly.
Nash struck Kaleâs yellow rubber shoes with his palm. The moment his middle finger touched the shoe, he knocked Kale into the air using just an ounce of his strength.
Kaleâs nearly 100kg body slammed heavily on the old table. The table shattered.
âKaleâ¦â
Seeing this, Old Walker, who was holding the jug of water, turned pale as he walked over.
Kale clutched his right foot in pain as he felt a crushing pain reverberate through his right leg.
He looked at Nash again and saw him sitting on the sofa calmly as if he had not done anything at all just now.
That strike was not something a normal person could manage.
Kale was horrified. Only then did he realize this person was arrogant because he had the skills to back it up.
âKale, a-are you okay?â Old Walker worried and helped Kale up.
Kale gritted his teeth and shook his head. âIâm fine.â
Old Walker helped Kale onto the sofa before serving water to Nash and the others.
Nash smiled faintly. âYou donât have to be so polite!â
Old Walker said in a deep voice, âYouâre my guest. Our family isnât well-off, so we donât have anything good to entertain you with. Itâs just the simplest of food and drink. Please donât be offended.â
Jupiter said, âOld man, can you contact Wesley now?â
Old Walker shook his head. âI canât get in touch with him. Itâs been almost half a year since he returned to Somer and weâve only seen him three times!â
Angelica looked at Kale and asked, âKale, you know where Wesley is hiding, right?â
Kale shook his head and said, âI donât know!â
Angelicaâs tone became colder. âIf you confess, weâll go easy on you. If you resist, weâll be strict. The 50 members of the Lewis family canât die in vain!â
Old Walker sadly said, âKale, just say what you know. That beast isnât worthy of your protection.â
âI really donât know!
âYouâre his father and you donât know where he is, so how would I know?â Kale said, frustrated.
Nash picked up the glass of water and asked, âYou were wandering outside the Lewis familyâs estate to confuse us and focus our suspicion on you.â
Kale replied to that indifferently, âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
The glass in Nashâs hand broke, and his eyes narrowed.
Cold killing intent enveloped Kale. Nashâs indifferent eyes were like the gaze of death.
Kale looked into Nashâs eyes and felt short of breath as his chest tightened.
The strong pressure was oppressing him so much that he could not even breathe. Kale felt uneasy in his heart, and his stalwart body trembled involuntarily.
