Chapter 2339

My Substitute CEO Bride

"You little punk!" Clayton scolded, still reaching for Chuck's phone.

Meanwhile, Vizimir watched the two brothers playfully argue from his spot at the counter, where he was listening to a track by a contemporary master known by the stage name of Marcus.

"Oh, you're quite the connoisseur," Barther said as he approached the counter to pay his bill.

Vizimir waved him off. "Nah, I'm just a casual listener. I've heard that Mr. Malrose is quite popular lately."

Barther nodded.

"Yeah, I enjoy his music too. They say his songs are deeply connected to his own experiences. Even though his early years were filled with setbacks, they never dulled his edge. That's why he can still sing the kind of songs no one else dares to. That's what makes him a true master."

"Thanks for the insight, Mr. Barther."

"Haha, you're too kind, Mr. Vizimir. I just hey, ow!" Barther's mother suddenly yanked his ear.

"What are you doing here? Hurry up! Your dad's about to head to work soon!"

"Yeah, yeah, I know." Barther grabbed the takeout and left the restaurant with his mother.

Up in the sky, Dusky watched everything unfold without saying a word.

Howl turned to him and remarked, "You're a lot like him, you know."

"Him?"

Howl nodded. "Yeah, you. You really went and changed their fates, didn't you? But are you sure this was the right thing to do?"

Dusky hesitated before responding, "I'm not sure. Even now, they're facing their own struggles. It's just the intertwining of luck and misfortune. I don't know if what

I did was right or wrong, but... I just couldn't bear to see even worse things happen."

Dusky fell silent, still unwilling to leave.

Howl was puzzled and asked, "You're still not leaving?"

Dusky shook his head and then posed a question. "Howl, at the start, who did you think would become a god?"

Howl thought for a moment before answering confidently, "Chuck."

Dusky chuckled and pointed downward. "But in most scenarios, the one who won was him."

A figure appeared in their line of sight-a man unfamiliar to most.

"Who's that?"

"The masked man with the gun, Immanuel Herrera."

"Why him?"

Dusky explained, "I witnessed him becoming a god about 40 times, roughly half of

all outcomes, but he gave up each time. Do you know why?"

Howl shook his head. As this was Dusky's domain, he had only been observing and had not paid much attention to other anomalies.

Dusky continued, "For a brief moment, he sensed my presence. Although it was fleeting, I'm certain that his strength far exceeds what he shows."

"But why would he hide his power or even his identity?"

Dusky shook his head. "Those details don't matter anymore. Still, this guy has definitely piqued my interest. Maybe I'll keep an eye on him for a bit longer."

...

Over the past few days, not much had happened in the Land of Nion.

Most of the dissenting residents continued to protest in the streets, but those voices were soon silenced.

The Justice Guild had been subtly interfering with the Rauch family's actions, but they kept their moves hidden.

They clearly did not want the spotlight turned on them, knowing that no one wanted to be the one to stand out. However, if they managed to gain the upper hand in this operation, then no other country would discover their secrets.

Universal Group was not naive either. They, too, were keeping a close watch on the guild's moves.

Nash sipped his coffee leisurely, gazing in the direction of the Rauch family. "So, it's a game of patience, huh? Let's see who can outlast whom."

Above, in a plane, the members of the Justice Guild were constantly monitoring the Rauch family's activities. At that moment, the team leader picked up the radio.

"Everyone, get ready. Tonight, we begin the operation!"
