Chapter 2414
My Substitute CEO Bride
"What is it like, then?!" Sienna turned around and faced Nash with tears welling up in her eyes. She really wanted Nash to love her in a way that made her feel that he was truly hers.
Nash, however, said, "I like youâall of you, Hera and the others. You're all equal to me."
"Equal?!" Sienna screeched, his answer triggering a nerve.
She did not want equal treatment. She wanted Nash to prefer her more.
However, how could Nash possibly understand? Nash liked her the same way he liked them all.
Nash had won many women over with his charm, and they were all willing to follow him. He had always thought that it would be fine if things stayed the way they were forever. What Sienna said woke him up.
It was true he loved her, but he also loved Hera and the others. However, was this equal and easily attainable love real love?
Thinking about it now, Nash did not seem to have even understood the meaning of love. It was why he had accepted the affections of all the women around him. Just what exactly was his love for Hera?
Hera was deliberate with her affections, but what about him? He seemed to have always accepted everyone who came.
It was no wonder Sienna was troubled. It was likely the others felt the same too.
Sienna had bravely brought it up, allowing him to face the reality of things. Indeed, while Nash could deceive everyone, he could not deceive himself.
Nash's feelings for Sienna were not love but a momentary impulse and a sense of guilt.
He had always accepted everyone who came to him because he feared losing them. He was afraid that if he rejected them, his conscience would be weighed by guilt.
This, though, was not love. When Nash realized this, he stood there, stupefied. Tears rolled down Sienna's cheeks.
She had lost, completely. She had lost herself. She had always thought she was the exception, that she would be the special one in Nash's heart. In the end, she tore the hypocrisy apart by herself and widened the distance between herself and Nash.
She could have chosen not to face reality, but her mind was constantly condemning her for being blind.
Nash had never loved her. All this time, he had just been compromising.
Sienna cried. As expected, she did not have the courage to face the reality she already knew. However, she had to tear it apart herself. She had to wake up from this madness.
Sienna's mind was blank.
At this moment, Nash was unusually calm. Relationships, worldly matters, deep grievances he did not want to think about them too much. Could everyone not just be happy together? Was that not enough?
Still, he underestimated Sienna. What she wanted was genuine emotion, not impulsiveness or responsibility.
In Sienna's eyes, this so-called responsibility was not love.
"Is this... your answer?" Sienna asked coldly. Nash froze. He had never heard
Sienna speak to him in this tone. Still, he said nothing.
"I understand." Sienna then turned away and reached for the doorknob.
"Thank you, Nash, for always indulging my unreasonable demands. Really, thank you. But I think... it's time for me to wake up from this dream."
Sienna opened the door.
