Chapter 2452

My Substitute CEO Bride

Outside, Huntley overheard the conversation and felt mostly disdain.

"Hmph, friends? What a ridiculous joke."

With that, he left as it was soon time for his one-on-one match. Although there had been a few surprises today, the competition had to continue as there were still many whose strength had yet to be determined.

The match proceeded. Huntley strolled casually into the arena where his

opponent had long been waiting for him.

"Match 20-Huntley versus Zach Sable!

"Match! Start!"

Huntley glanced at the original lineup.

"A change of opponent? Interesting. It looks like Maxim really is afraid of me."

Zach said, "Twigg! I suggest you surrender now!"

"Oh? You're so sure you can win?" Huntley replied with scorn.

"Of course! I'm the most outstanding disciple of my family's generation."

"In that case, your generation must really be lacking in talent."

"Hmph, you only know how to talk big!"

With that, Zach launched his attack, swiping a massive black claw formed from true energy toward Huntley.

Twigg casually stepped to the side, dodging the attack easily.

"Not bad. You have some skill."

"Hmph, I don't need your approval!"

Immediately, Zach used the black claw as leverage to close the distance between himself and Huntley. Huntley hurriedly retreated once again.

At that moment, Zach's other hand morphed into another giant claw. With a swift strike, he managed to land a hit on Huntley.

A wound appeared on Huntley's left shoulder, blood seeping from the cut. Zach's grin grew even more maniacal. "Haha! This is the consequence of your arrogance!"

"Really? Just a light scratch? I was expecting something much more impressive."

Zach sneered, "Keep talking while you still can." Then, he immediately launched another attack. This time, his hands and feet had transformed into claws. He crouched on all fours, adopting a predatory stance.

By now, Huntley had a clearer understanding of his opponent's strength.

"So, that's it. You're not from one of the five immortal families."

Zach lunged at Huntley with a powerful pounce.

Huntley realized it was no longer the time to toy around. His opponent was not just aiming to defeat him—he likely wanted to take his life.

Without hesitation, Huntley pulled out his Seven Star Beads from his hand and launched them. The beads successfully blocked Zach's attack, sending him flying backward. However, Zach twisted mid-air, regaining his balance before landing smoothly on the ground.

Huntley taunted again, "Really? I expected more. Is that all you've got?"

"What did you say?!" A sudden surge of killing intent burst forth from Zach's body.

Huntley calmly retrieved his Emerald Pearls. "Just as I thought... A wolf—a decisive, ruthless immortal. Looks like I'll need to get serious now."

Zach glared at Huntley.

"I warned you, Huntley, but you insisted on courting death. Now, there's no other way!"

He raised his right hand just as Huntley's eyes narrowed in focus.

"What?!"

Huntley noticed traces of his own blood on Zach's hand, left behind from the earlier wound. Suddenly, the blood began to flow into Zach's body.

"Elder Wolf, the conditions have been met! I, Zach, the 80th-generation descendant of the Sable family, humbly ask for your assistance! Help me punish this arrogant fool, Elder Wolf!"
