Chapter 2456
My Substitute CEO Bride
The fourth day arrived, and it was the day when 24 competitors would battle to reduce the number to 12. Although there were 25 victors from the previous day, Huntley was naturally disqualified and removed from the competition due to what had happened.
The next match was between Anox and Kalo.
Nearly all the prominent martial artists and high-ranking officials had gathered to watch this competition. The Dune brothers were among the top disciples of this tournament, yet it had not been determined who was the stronger of the two.
Would this time be different?
Anox and Kalo were sitting together before the match. Anox handed a cup of water to his younger brother and asked with concern, "How are you feeling? Nervous?"
"Haha, I should be the one asking you that. Do you think you can beat me?" Kalo replied with a grin.
Anox laughed as well. "Of course. Let's give it our best this time!" He then unscrewed his water bottle and took large gulps. Kalo stared at the bottle intently, lost in thought. Noticing the unusual expression on his brother's face, Anox could not help but wonder what was going on.
"What's wrong?" Anox asked.
"Anox, you're the older brother, so I want to ask you something..." Kalo said, catching his brother off guard.
Anox was a bit surprised. Although Kalo was technically the younger brother by three minutes, he had always been more decisive, so it was rare for him to ask for Anox's opinion.
Over time, Anox had grown to rely on Kalo's judgment in most situations. However, things were different now. Kalo was actually asking him for his opinion.
"Go ahead," Anox prompted.
Kalo took a deep breath before solemnly saying, "Let's settle something with the outcome of this match."
"What?" Anox still did not quite understand.
Kalo continued, "This time, whoever wins will be the one to confess to Teresa. What do you think?"
Stunned, Anox stared at his brother in disbelief.
"Kalo, you..."
"Well? Do you agree or not?"
Anox was speechless, completely thrown off by his brother's unexpected proposition. He never imagined this would be Kalo's motive for the match.
From Kalo's perspective, it all seemed perfectly natural. He always knew that he had only been pretending to be strong and was constantly following in Anox's footsteps. Deep down, Kalo knew Teresa's heart belonged to Anox.
He should not rob them of their happiness. Still, there was a sense of unwillingness in him... Of course, he was not content with just letting it go.
However, he knew better. Love had to be mutual, built on shared affection and understanding. Even if he did win the match, he probably would not confess his feelings. He was certain he would be rejected, and his decision had already been made.
At least this way, his brother would not remain lost and hesitant any longer. Kalo was determined to ensure that Anox would win!
"So, have you made up your mind?" Kalo resumed his usual assertiveness.
Anox avoided his brother's gaze, still unsure. His sense of duty as the elder brother made it hard for him to make such a decision-it pained him to take something his brother might want.
Kalo could see that Anox had not yet made up his mind, so he pressed on, more aggressively this time, "Don't worry, I won't lose! By the time you're done hesitating, I'll have already confessed to Teresa!"
...
The match began, and the two brothers charged at each other with full force.
Maxim observed them closely from the judges' table. He glanced at the list of matchups.
