Chapter 2490
My Substitute CEO Bride
A new day arrived, marking the quarterfinals in which the top six would compete for a place in the final three. Various forces began to stir restlessly.
Nash, Clinton, and Huntley packed their belongings and checked out of the hotel. "Nash, why today?" Huntley asked in confusion.
As they walked, Nash explained, "It's simple. Tomorrow is the day when three spots for the god selection will be decided. That means Maxim's opportunity is limited to today.
"If nothing happens by the end of the event tomorrow, then all of Maxim's previous efforts would be meaningless."
"Exactly," Clinton added. "If the fruit appears again, then the arrays Maxim set up will definitely be affected. He had to take advantage of today's deadline to achieve his goals."
"I see. So, what do we do now?" Huntley inquired.
Nash pointed seriously at a large red sign ahead. "We're having breakfast."
"Breakfast?" Huntley replied, slightly exasperated. "You're serious?"
Clinton and Nash entered the establishment, and Huntley reluctantly followed.
"Sir, do you serve breakfast?" Clinton asked.
"What kind? Coffee?" the owner responded.
Nash interjected, "Just bring us oatmeal and tea."
"Alright, coming right up," the owner replied.
Clinton sighed helplessly. "After being in the East District of the Northern Territory for so long, I'm really missing my usual breakfast."
"We'll probably head back tomorrow or the day after. Just make do for now," Nash said.
"By the way, Nash, isn't your woman coming along?" Clinton asked.
Nash shook his head. "She's probably still asleep. I took her around to many places the past couple of days, so she must be tired. She said she wants to catch up on sleep today."
"Oh, I see... She's here, right?" Clinton suddenly interjected.
Nash nodded. "Yes, she's here."
The exchange between the two seemed like some kind of secret code, which left Huntley feeling annoyed. "What are you two talking about?"
Just then, two figures-an elderly man and a young man wearing hats and masks -sat down in front of them.
When the food arrived, Nash and Clinton ignored the newcomers and started eating.
The young man ordered two portions of oatmeal as well. When the food was served, the five of them ate breakfast in silence.
At that moment, Nash pushed the honey toward the elderly man and the young man. "You need honey for your oatmeal."
"Haha, you're right," the old man said.
The moment he spoke, Huntley felt enlightened. He had found the two familiar from the beginning. These two were one other than Tobiah Goldberg and Philemon Troyer!
When that young man spoke earlier, Huntley had his doubts, but as soon as the old man spoke, he realized they were the two masters from the Enigma Clan.
He knew Nash and Clinton were not just here for breakfast.
Tobiah then asked, "How should we eat the oatmeal?"
Nash explained, "Just add in a few tablespoons of honey."
