Chapter 2558

My Substitute CEO Bride

"But... can you really handle them alone?" Whistler asked.

Linden shook his head. "I definitely can't... but the grandmaster can."

"What do you mean?" Whistler asked back.

Linden helped him to his feet, then turned to face Oakley and Yellowhorn with resolute determination.

"Oakley, you're afraid, aren't you? You're afraid of the Heavenly Master of Hydra Hill-the unpredictable variable."

"Ridiculous!" Oakley snarled and suddenly appeared behind them, summoning lightning to launch an attack.

Linden, however, remained unfazed. He calmly unlocked a seal within his body.

"You should be all too familiar with this." Linden's entire body began to emit a dazzling golden light.

"As expected!" Yellowhorn stepped forward to attack as well.

This was all part of their plan. If they could harness Amulet Glory and the full power of the Heavenly Thunder Tranquility Technique here, they would surely be able to overthrow the current Heavenly Master.

However, both Oakley and Yellowhorn had underestimated the true power of Amulet Glory.

Amulet Glory was, in essence, the accumulated power of all past Heavenly Masters. When this immense power was inherited by a new successor, it could be refined into newer abilities.

Passing Amulet Glory to a new heir often meant that the previous Heavenly Master might face immediate death due to the toll it took on their life force. Fortunately, the current Heavenly Master of Hydra Hill was not yet dead as his life force was still intact.

Amulet Glory was more like a power-boosting enhancement.

It was akin to an invincibility buff from a game item, a temporary but overwhelming advantage. Its essence lay in the accumulated abilities of successive Heavenly Masters.

In other words, Linden could also wield his sect's core techniques, which were the Golden Light Barrier and Thunderstorm. It was nothing short of terrifying. He could deal a blow so fearsome that even a skilled expert like Oakley, who was at the Divine Sojourn Realm, would not dare confront it directly.

As Oakley and Yellowhorn tried to flee, Whistler activated an array that pulled them back into range.

"Linden!"

"I got it!"

After a brief moment of silence, a blinding white light erupted, consuming everything in its path. Wherever the light touched, all matter was annihilated. Following the light, a powerful bolt of lightning shot up into the sky, splitting the heavens.

Under Linden's fierce gaze, Yellowhorn and Oakley were instantly reduced to nothingness.

An eerie silence followed the white light. The protective true energy slowly dissipated as Linden withdrew it. This strike had nearly cost Linden his life. Fortunately, the danger had been eliminated.

Whistler crawled over to Linden's side.

"How are you? Are you okay?"

"Could be worse. Whistler, my buddy, I'm afraid you'll have to help me walk in a bit."

"Alright. Wait, why did you call me 'buddy'? Are you disregarding hierarchy now?"

"I'll explain that later. The barrier's down, so let's go notify the others!"

"We probably... don't need to." Whistler pointed to the sky.

Curious, Linden looked up. The disciples from their sect were flying through the sky, searching for the two of them and Oakley's accomplices.

Whistler waved toward the sky. "Over here!"

Linden, however, hid himself. His action confused Whistler. "Isn't it over? Why are you still hiding?"
