Chapter 2568

My Substitute CEO Bride

The young man stood up while everyone was watching.

"20 million!"

At that moment, the old man suddenly blew his top and threw his chair aside. The young man dodged the flying chair deftly and calmly. The old man's rage was palpable, and the scar on his face became more pronounced as his complexion reddened.

"Raylee, you little brat! What do you think you're doing?"

Raylee Lione shot the old man an impatient look, a flicker of malice gleaming in his eyes. "Old fool, don't throw a tantrum here!"

"What did you say?!"

A security guard approached them at this point. "Gentlemen, I believe neither of you would want to embarrass the business associations' representatives present."

The old man looked around and noticed the disdainful glances from the crowd. Reluctantly, he stormed out and slammed the door behind him.

Raylee straightened his clothes, brushing off the dust. "Apologies for the interruption, everyone."

The auctioneer then continued, "We shall resume with the auction. The current bid for the Battle of the Hundred Insects stands at 20 million. Is there anyone else who would like to bid for it?"

A brief silence followed.

As the auctioneer counted down, the atmosphere grew tense.

Finally, with a decisive bang of the gavel, he announced, "I hereby declare that the Battle of the Hundred Insects goes to Mr. Raylee Lione, No. 59, at a price of 20 million. Additionally, we will donate ten million in Mr. Lione's name to help impoverished areas. Let's give him a round of applause!"

The hall erupted in thunderous applause as Raylee stepped up to the stage and removed his cap.

For the first time, Nash was able to see the young man's face clearly. His most striking feature was his eyes. One of his pupils was a normal dark brown while the other was a light purple that resembled toxic gas.

Raylee's facial structure was exquisitely defined, yet faint scars, similar to those of the old man before, were visible in certain areas like the corners of his eyes and around his ears. The reasons for these scars remained a mystery, but he had skillfully concealed them, as there were no similar marks to be seen on his neck or hands.

It would have been difficult to notice them without keen observation.

After taking a few photos, Raylee returned to his seat with an air of nonchalance. As the auction continued, a series of items were showcased, and a small scene took place with each item.

Nash eventually noticed something significant. Recalling Philemon's words from earlier, Nash remembered that he had already made it clear. Philemon had said that he would not accept artifacts related to martial artists.

For such an auction to be organized meant that it was actually designed to cater to the needs of various martial artists. The earlier bidding for the Battle of the Hundred Insects had ended with 20 million, and the subsequent items were similarly valued, each imbued with significance far beyond their material worth. Philemon had not lied to Nash.

If the item he sought was also coveted by other factions, things could get troublesome. Not only would he have to contend with those at the auction, but he also wondered whether he could leave with the token safely if he did win it.

Time ticked by slowly as the auction showcased its tenth item.

Then, the auctioneer theatrically announced, "Alright everyone, let's bring out the highlight of today's auction!"

Everyone held their breath, and Nash felt a surge of tension as he focused on the final stage. At the auctioneer's command, all the lights in the venue dimmed.

Suddenly, spotlights illuminated the display area.

"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to make an introduction!" As he yelled, the red cloth was slowly pulled away. "This is a product of the Divine War, left behind by the leaders of humanity-an emblem of the unparalleled glory of our kind-the All Souls Token!"

When the red cloth was completely removed, everyone in the room fixated on the token's true form.
