Chapter 2601

My Substitute CEO Bride

"I'm the only child..." Alistair's personality changed again. Along with this, his memory might have also changed. Rather than out of self-protection, he was trying to escape.

Troy was confused as to what was happening and would have to continue to investigate. To do that, he would have to stay by Alistair's side.

There was no way Alistair could fight and win right now. Troy would wait for the opportunity to arise before he completed his revenge. For this, he had to endure. Even if his companions' bodies were scattered around him now, he had to endure.

Amy and Dorothy were rescued by Whistler, and the three of them went to the hotel.

Dorothy had lost hope at this moment. "Amy... I..." she trailed off as she looked at her feet. "I'm a burden..."

Amy shook her head. Holding Dorothy's hand tightly, she said, "No, you're not a burden."

"I am... I am..... I can't become a martial artist, I can't do anything. I knew back then that I couldn't stop Raylee, but I wanted to try. I didn't want to leave. I don't want to be a burden anymore."

Amy's eyes were wet when she heard this.

"No, Dorothy. You're not "

"Excuse me."

The two immediately snapped their heads toward the voice. Aurora was standing

at the door with takeaway.

"I-I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"

...

In another room, Fogort was woken up.

"What? Didn't you say to sleep?"

"Ask Whistler. He seems to have discovered something," Linden said.

Whistler nodded. "I went to the Goldspin Plaza to monitor the situation because I wanted to verify my guess. If my guess is correct, then I'm afraid I know why Alistair lied."

"So, what's the reason?"

"That man withheld a lot of information, so I made an assumption on the situation. It's not dissociative identity disorder. Alistair's personality at that start was already icy."

"But..."

"Wait. Did you just say cold?" Fogort asked. "What do you mean? He doesn't look cold to me at all."

"Fogort, look at this." It was a talisman, a work of the previous Heavenly Master, Esen.

Whistler pasted the talisman on the window. Then, a paragraph of text appeared on the window. Whistler then explained, "This is Hydra Hill's Thousand Miles Spirit Talisman, which can be used to transmit information.

"After you told us the story Alistair shared with you back then, I calculated the time. Don't you think it's quite a coincidence that something else happened on Hydra Hill when whatever he mentioned in the story happened?"

"Hydra Hill?"

"Exactly. It's the only scandal in Hydra Hill in the past hundred years. A Path master, my uncle, went crazy. I don't know why but nothing came out of it in the end. All I know is that my master swept this incident under the rug."

"What about now?" Fogort asked. "Is Master Aellopus willing to talk about it now?"

"He told me you have to be present for it, Fogort. I don't know why, though."

"Me?"

"That's right. Come look. Let's see the content of the talisman.*

The words on the window shone before colliding with each other as if people were

talking. The collision and vibration gave the words sound.
