Chapter 2612

My Substitute CEO Bride

Fogort's eyes widened in fury. Gritting his teeth, he questioned Nash, "Are you saying you intend to sell all of us out?"

Nash shook his head at that moment. "If I were going to do that, do you think I'd be telling you all of this?"

Fogort was taken aback. "Then, what do you mean by this?"

Nash continued, "Listen to me." He then elaborated, "Do you really think I'd let him control me blindly? No way. I'm investigating the strange array and the odd things happening with Alistair. And I did find something in the end."

On the morning before the operation, Nash was called into the building.

Alistair got straight to the point, "Mr. Calcraft, let me introduce you to my child."

Troy stepped forward. "You must be the man that my father has been speaking about. Thank you for helping us defeat those traitors."

Troy extended his hand, and Nash shook it out of politeness. Suddenly, Nash felt something crawl into his palm.

Troy gave Nash a subtle glance, and in that instant, Nash realized Troy was also an undercover agent. The two quickly teamed up and put on a convincing performance. Alistair did not suspect a thing.

Alistair walked over to the computer. "Come, take a look at this."

Both Nash and Troy moved closer to the screen, and the sight before them left them wide-eyed in shock. The entire company's personnel-nearly ten thousand people were standing stiffly in various positions across different floors as if they were puppets.

Alistair, brimming with pride, said, "These are my disobedient children. But luckily, they've returned to the right path."

The horrifying scene rendered the two speechless.

Growing more boastful, Alistair switched through the multiple camera feeds, eagerly explaining his 'accomplishments' to them. It was almost as if he was showing off his prized work.

Suddenly, a group in the warehouse was struck by a misplaced iron box. Those who were hit were instantly crushed, their bodies mangled beyond recognition.

To their disbelief, the bodies slowly began to regenerate before their very eyes. The once broken figures reformed, returning to their puppet-like state, devoid of any awareness.

At that moment, both Nash and Troy realized that these puppets would regenerate even if they were killed.

The day dragged on until noon.

Still in high spirits, Alistair happily hopped his way to the cafeteria for lunch.

Nash and Troy remained in the office. Just as Nash was about to speak, Troy stopped him, signaling him to stay silent.

Troy then walked to the door, opened it slightly, and then closed it again. The moment the door shut, he used his true energy to create a small barrier that was just large enough to enclose the two of them. He gestured for Nash to check his pockets.

When Nash reached into his pocket, a small bug crawled out. Using the little bug, Troy whispered, "Now, we can talk. I've temporarily disrupted the perception of our presence within this barrier. Don't worry, I used two decoy bugs. He won't notice."

Nash, still puzzled, asked, "Are you an undercover agent too?"
