Chapter 2616
My Substitute CEO Bride
Nash sprang into action at that moment. His target was Alistair.
Alistair was terrified and unable to use his arrays while being pressured by Nash and the others.
"Good! Let's quickly control him while he can't revert to his main personality!"
With that, the two launched a flurry of attacks against Alistair, who staggered back and fell to the ground from helplessness. Seeing this, Nash gathered true energy in his hands. Transforming the true energy into emerald needles, he shot them toward Alistair's trigger points, cutting off his true energy and immobilizing him.
Fogort seized the opportunity and rushed forward. "Chaos Talisman, come to me!" he roared, and a bright light emerged.
Alistair's soul was struggling violently. At that moment, Fogort decided to give it everything he had.
"Don't hold back, Chaos Talisman! Maximum effectiveness!"
As the talisman in Fogort's hand fused with his arm, runes emerged on his skin. The runes glowed, and a small black hole appeared on Fogort's arm, the force of its suction increasing nonstop.
âHang in there! Just hold on a bit longer!"
Fogort's heart-wrenching roar echoed in the air. The runes gradually spread from his arm to encompass his entire upper body as the suction force kept increasing.
Soon, the part of Alistair's soul that was carrying the Heaven-Shaking Tome began to surge outward from his body. However, another crimson soul was persistently clawing at it.
"No, this is mine!"
A fierce tug-of-war erupted between the two souls.
At this moment, the Chaos Talisman inside Fogort warned him, "I'll only say this once, kid. Don't let the runes cover your body completely. If you don't expel them before that happens, you'll die on the spot!"
Fogort gritted his teeth, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Even though Nash's needle technique had sealed Alistair's trigger points, it still was not easy extracting a soul fortified by the tome that was one of the Six Ritualistic Weapons.
Alistair had only succeeded previously because Dorothy's soul when she was a child did not resist him at all. Moreover, Dorothy had only inherited her powers for a very short time and had not yet known how to use them. This allowed Alistair to take advantage of the situation.
Now, the circumstances were vastly different.
Alistair's soul had undergone decades of training, making it fiercely powerful. Additionally, he had spent years manipulating the balance between the two souls, making it exceedingly difficult to separate them.
Dorothy's soul was on the verge of a complete fusion with Alistair's, complicating the transfer process even further.
Nash wanted to step forward to help, but Fogort called out to him at that moment, "Master Calcraft, don't!"
"Can you do it alone?" Nash asked, worried.
Fogort gritted his teeth and nodded firmly. "Don't forget what we talked about in the elevator!"
Nash clenched his fists and then turned to head back to the elevator. "Hold on! I'll be back soon!"
With that, Nash left.
"Thanks, Master Calcraft! You'd better keep your promise!"
Back when they were in the elevator on the way to the top floor, Nash and Fogort had discussed their strategy. "Fogort, what's the success rate of that method you mentioned for removing Alistair's abilities?"
