Chapter 2661
My Substitute CEO Bride
Just as he was racking his brain in thought, Reese pointed at the sky and shouted, "Hey! Look up!"
Snapping his head upward, Nash noticed something strange. Something looked to be moving in the night sky, which should have been pitch-black.
"The sky? Is it moving?"
Reese was stunned. It was not only the sky as something seemed to be running across the bright white moon too.
At that moment, Nash looked down at the ground and saw a few demons making their way up to the mountain peak.
Looking at the sky and then at the demons below, a bold idea came to him. He began searching around the mountaintop and, sure enough, he found something in a small corner on the right side of the peak.
Nash discovered a small puddle, less than a meter wide, which had previously been obscured by weeds. Seeing the crystal-clear water, he knew he was onto something.
Logically, there should not be flowing water on the mountaintop as it was not snowy enough for that. Thus, there could only be one explanation!
Nash called Reese over. The demons were getting closer to the peak.
Reese had no choice but to go over to Nash, who pointed out the puddle to him.
Reese looked at the small puddle in confusion. "It's just a puddle. What's so special about itâ"
Before Reese could finish his sentence, Nash kicked him into the puddle. While the puddle looked only several centimeters deep, It completely swallowed him. Seeing this, Nash hurriedly jumped in after him. His guess had been right. Nash's thoughts clicked when he thought of the weapon's name, the Sky Reflector Mirror.
If the weapon could turn an otherwise normal place into a secret realm, then the sky itself could also become a part of that realm. In other words, the sky within the secret realm was an illusion, causing shadows on the ground to be reflected in the sky, making it appear as if the sky were moving.
The weapon had to be on the mountaintop. Nash knew he was not wrong about this, so he had to give it a try. Sure enough, he discovered the puddle. While it looked like it had flowing water, it was actually simply reflecting the ground below.
In other words, it was not the sky reflecting the shadows on the ground; rather, it was the sky reflecting the shadows from this small puddle.
Nash then determined that this puddle was the center of the secret realm, essentially serving as the exit. After hopping into the puddle, Nash and Reese went through a pitch-black tunnel that seemed to throw them about at terrifying speeds.
Just when they felt they could open their eyes again, they found themselves plummeting into a water pool below.
Reese grumbled as he stepped forward. "Nash! What the hell, man?"
Nash pointed to the bottom of the lake at that moment and said, "Shh, look over there."
Reese followed Nash's finger and saw something glowing at the bottom of the lake. They both instantly knew it to be the Sky Reflector Mirror. However, neither of them dared to make a move, fearing that they might fall under the mirror's influence again.
"Hey, Reese, use your neutralization technique," Nash reminded him.
Reese shook his head. "No way. I have to activate it before I'm affected. If we use even a bit of our true energy now, we might go insane."
He was right.
