Chapter 2662

My Substitute CEO Bride

Currently, Reese and Nash had fallen into the Sky Reflector Mirror's array. They would not be able to escape the weapon's interference regardless of what they did. If they used their true energy rashly now, the consequences would be

unimaginable.

"It's the lake water. The mirror represents the kidneys, so it uses water as a medium," Nash said.

Reese agreed with his assessment, but their legs were stuck in the lake water. To escape, they needed to run to the cliff wall. Perhaps that would allow them to momentarily evade the mirror's influence.

Both of them possessed ritualistic weapons and naturally understood what they needed to do. They hurriedly ran toward the walls.

However, the Sky Reflector Mirror had a consciousness of its own. How could it not have anticipated this?

The lake water suddenly turned viscous like glue. Nash's and Reese's steps became heavier and heavier, and gradually, they began to lose their strength.

They both realized then that the lake water was draining their stamina. They could easily die of exhaustion here even if they were not using their true energy.

Seeing this, Reese decided to take a desperate gamble. Nash rushed forward to dissuade him.

"Hey! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"

"If I'm going to die anyway, I might as well give it a shot!" Reese replied, preparing to unleash his true energy.

"As long as I activate it quickly enough, I'll be fine!"

It was then that Nash noticed that the lake water was interfering with their judgment. Just a moment ago, Reese had warned against using true energy, but now, he was ready to do so himself. Nash moved to stop him, but it was too late.

Reese clenched his fists and brought them together. "Skyshard—” Before he could finish, the true energy that he had released immediately attracted the lake water around him.

The water seemed to come alive then as it quickly surrounded Reese. In no time at all, he lost consciousness.

Nash felt despair creeping in. This was an inescapable deadlock, unless...

Just when Nash was at a loss of what to do, a glowing soul suddenly grabbed both him and Reese, lifting them up. Nash focused his gaze and realized that the soul was none other than Otto!

Otto swiftly pulled Nash and Reese back to the ground. He had also noticed that the lake water in the secret realm was beginning to stir restlessly. Without wasting any time, Otto quickly brought the two of them back down the mountain.

Reese was still out cold when Otto set them down. It was then that Nash remembered what Casimir, the Heavenly Master of Hydra Hill, had once told him about Abundance Mountain's unique secret arts.

"Do you know why there are so many differences despite us being from the same sect as Abundance Mountain?" Casimir had asked.

"I don't know. Can you tell me?" Nash replied.

"Haha, it's actually not much of a secret. Firstly, it's because of what our ancestral master required of us. Secondly, our sects focus on different practices."

"Different practices?"

"Exactly! As you know, Hydra Hill covers a variety such as the golden light, thunder techniques, talismans, and arrays. We practice everything you can think of. But Abundance Mountain is different.

"They pursue a path that transcends the physical body. Whether it's adhering to a vegetarian diet or practicing celibacy, these are all part of their cultivation practices. Their techniques are relatively singular, focusing entirely on the exploration of the soul."

Nash was taken aback when he heard that.
