Chapter 2689
My Substitute CEO Bride
The extraction was highly successful, far smoother than the first time Fogort used this power. In about ten minutes, he managed to remove the Heaven-Destroyer Magma from Tamsine's body.
He quickly used a talisman to stop the bleeding, and at last, Tamsine was temporarily out of danger. However, this was not a long-term solution.
Fogort even wondered why the villa didn't have a dedicated private doctor. Where were they?
Just then, footsteps sounded outside the door. The head butler, Lester Randy, entered with several doctors dressed in white coats.
They wasted no time explaining the situation to Fogort and hurriedly lifted Tamsine onto a stretcher. At that moment, Tamsine grasped Fogort's arm.
Assuming she was still unconscious, he pushed her arm away. He failed to notice the glimmer of a tear in Tamsine's pleading gaze.
Tamsine was then taken to the rescue vehicle. Meanwhile, Fogort stood by the window watching them leave before he began investigating Tamsine's room.
"How is this possible?" he murmured as he examined his surroundings. Everything seemed normal, so why was Tamsine attacked? Who did it, and why?
Did they want the Heaven-Destroyer Magma? That seemed impossible since she had already dispersed 80% of her power, leaving very little behind.
Did they want to find her to claim that power? Or was it an attempt to thwart her plans?
"What's the motive... What could it possibly be?" Fogort continued inspecting every corner of the room, checking doors and windows, even the ceiling. "There are no secret passages, and the doors and windows show no signs of being broken."
"Could it have been someone from the villa?" That thought lingered in Fogort's mind.
Recently, he had observed the people in the villa. There seemed to be no issues, and many appeared loyal to Tamsine.
She seemed to have inherited her father's estate.
Tamsine grew up in Gorgeous Country. Her parents divorced when she was young, and she lived with her mother there for about ten years. After her mother remarried, she returned to her home country, and it just so happened that her father passed away.
Subsequently, she inherited the family business and the estate.
Although she was the heiress, she lacked knowledge about her father's business as the operations were primarily managed by long-time employees who had been following her father, some of whom were even relatives.
Could these people be the ones who wanted to kill her?
After thinking for a moment, Fogort decided to leave the room and casually placed a sealing talisman on the door.
He intended to wait as there were almost no signs of struggle in the room, suggesting that he arrived too quickly for the culprit to accomplish their task.
If that were the case, they would undoubtedly return. The talisman would allow Fogort to monitor the actions of anyone who opened that door. Eventually, he could catch the culprit.
At that moment, he heard footsteps approaching upstairs. Fogort quickly moved to check it out.
It turned out to be Sidney, who looked terrified. "Where did everyone go? Where's Mommy? Daddy, where's Mommy?"
Seeing the trembling boy before him made Fogort gradually lower his guard. He picked up Sidney and comforted him, "They all went out to work. Let's get something to eat later."
"Really? Okay, Daddy!"
"I told you not to call me that. You can see me as your older brother."
