Chapter 2730

My Substitute CEO Bride

"I understand." Reese placed the Light Reflector Mirror into his possession.

At that moment, this Ritualistic Weapon was devoid of any power; it was merely a container for housing Scathach and the intelligence of the ritualistic weapon, so it would not conflict with Reese's Skyshard Armor.

Wrendell also woke up. "Reese? What happened to me?"

Reese decided to tell a small lie. "It's nothing! Aren't you perfectly fine? How did you end up so dazed after a nap?"

Wrendell rubbed his head, filled with questions. "I took a nap? Weren't we in Palvere? What about Orson? I remember..."

Reese offered a slight explanation, "You were controlled by the Light Reflector Mirror, but don't worry, I managed to subdue her."

He simply downplayed the incident.

Since Wrendell had no recollection of it, he refrained from pressing for more details.

The two then rekindled the campfire.

As Reese looked at the flames and the ashes on the ground, he felt a surge of emotion.

"Wrendell."

"What's up?"

"Let's... pause the rigorous training for now."

"Why?" Wrendell asked.

Reese, having learned about his mother's past with the Sharpes, felt overwhelming guilt. His thoughts tangled, preventing him from finding peace.

"We..."

Just then, a point of starlight suddenly illuminated the sky. Reese and Wrendell looked up simultaneously. They saw two stars above them radiating a brilliant glow.

"What is that?" Wrendell asked in confusion.

Reese shook his head; he had no idea what was happening. It seemed as though the two stars were guiding them. Seemingly losing control of their bodies, they followed the stars' direction.

"What's happening?" Reese attempted to awaken the Skyshard Armor within him. "Wake up! Damn it! Why won't my body respond?!"

At the same time in a rental apartment, Fogort and Tamsine were also summoned. They moved uncontrollably toward a certain direction.

"Damn it! Who cast this curse?" Fogort fought against the talisman within him, but his efforts proved futile.

Suddenly, a swirling time-space rift appeared before them. They were pulled directly into the rift.

The situation for Reese and Wrendell was no different. In an instant, darkness enveloped all four of them.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves transported to an ancient ruin.

"Where is this?" Tamsine panicked as she looked around.

"Tamsine?! Where are you?"

The four of them had been transported to different corners of the ruin. Before they could react to what was happening, a voice suddenly echoed in their ears.

"Greetings, inheritors." Fogort and Reese recognized the voice; it belonged to Nash.

"Master Calcraft, what are you up to now?" Reese asked directly.

However, Nash seemed to ignore his question and continued speaking in a mechanical manner. "I'm the master of this ruin and also the essence of this ruin.

"What you need to do is simple-find me, then use all your strength to defeat me. Otherwise, you'll never escape from here.

"Of course, I won't just be waiting around somewhere. My loyal soldiers have already set off to find you."

As he spoke, soldiers in ancient armor began to appear beside the four, their ghostly forms looming menacingly.
