Chapter 338
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 338
âNo,â Fabian said flatly.
âIs that so?â
Frankie chuckled awkwardly, finding it hard to believe that Fabian would risk his life to come to Drakonia without bringing the inheritance document.
âIâll go check on Melody and the others,â Nash stated. He was aware that his identity had yet to be verified, so they would not share many secrets with him.
Besides, Fabian was not much for conversation. It made it awkward for Nash to just sit there.
Hera had another sleepless night in Rex District.
She and Yvonne spent the evening monitoring surveillance feeds.
That night, Nash did not return to Royal Bay.
Yvonne speculated that he might have checked into a hotel room with that woman.
âWhat does she have that I donât? That old woman isnât even as young as me!â
Hera sounded like she was close to crying.
While playing her game, Yvonne commented, âOlder women have their ways⦠If you want to capture a manâs heart, youâve got to capture his soulâ¦â
âLetâs sleep and stop thinking about him!â
Hera turned around, wiping away her tears.
âIâll sleep after this round!
âThese useless teammates! They dare to criticize me after playing so poorly. Whatâs wrong with me killing Yaria?
âIf you dare, turn on your mics!
âIf I donât blast you all, itâll be disrespectful to the credibility score!â
It was 8:00 am the next day, and Nash was sitting in front of Finnâs hospital bed, smoking.
Finn coughed from the smoke. âCough⦠Coughâ¦â
Nash smiled. âWant one?â
Cigarettes contained nicotine, which could help alleviate pain somewhat.
After the effects of the anesthesia wore off the previous night, Finn felt pain all over. He started taking ibuprofen and painkillers.
Concerned about the side effects of taking too many painkillers, he asked Nash for a cigarette.
Nash promptly bought a pack.
Now, it was almost finished, with Finn having smoked more than half.
âGive me one!â
Finn said weakly.
Nash took out the last cigarette, placed it in Finnâs mouth, and lit it for him.
With both of Finnâs arms severely injured, Nash had to hold the cigarette for him.
After a couple of puffs, Finnâs expression relaxed.
Nash grinned. âYou did well protecting Fabian last night. What reward would
you
like?â
He treated Finn like a younger brother, and he did not want him to go unrewarded.
âCan I get cash?â
Finn asked with a grin.
After paying off his fatherâs debts, he was now penniless.
He still wanted to buy back his fatherâs brick factory.
âHow much do you
you want?â
âHowever much you can give!â
Finn quickly responded, uncertain of a specific amount.
Asking for too little would be a loss.
Asking for too much might make Mr. Nash think he was greedy.
âI donât have much on me right nowâ¦â
Before Nash could finish, Theo called.
âNashy⦠I drank too much yesterday. I heard you were looking for me?â Theo said lazily.
