Chapter 345
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 345
âMr. Long has been waiting for you for a long time. Follow me.â
âOkay.â
Hera followed the bodyguard into the entrance.
After Nash got out of the car upon arriving at Deâanne Cemetery, he went to the security booth to buy some flowers. Since he was already here, it was only natural for him to pay his respects to the old man. The security guard said, âWhy didnât you and your girlfriend come together?â
The last time the Lewis family buried someone, there were about 20 cremation urns, and it was quite a spectacle. The security guard had a vivid memory of it.
Nash smiled awkwardly. âWe had a little disagreement, so she came ahead of me.â
The security guard chuckled. âAh, young people. Itâs normal to have disagreements!â
Nash quickly bought the flowers and hurried into the cemetery. There was no one in front of Hermanâs grave, and there was no sign of Hera in the entire cemetery.
Nash hurriedly placed the flowers before leaving. âSir, when did my girlfriend leave?â He was annoyed that the man did not mention it earlier but also blamed himself for not asking.
âItâs been about an hour,â the old security guard replied as he casually lit a cigarette and crossed his legs.
Thanking him, Nash went to the side of the road to hail a cab. He then called Angelica again.
âDid you find her?â Angelica asked.
âShe left about an hour ago,â Nash replied in frustration.
âWait a moment,â Angelica said.
She asked her colleague to check the surveillance footage of the area outside Deâanne Cemetery. After about five minutes, Angelica said, âShe went to Cloud Peak Palace Hotel.â
âThanks,â Nash said before ending the call. He then said to the driver, âSir, please take me to Cloud Peak Palace Hotel the fastest you can.â
The driver looked at him and said, âThatâd be 500.â
The expenses at Cloud Peak Palace Hotel were so high that he ought to take advantage of a wealthy person who was rushing there.
âIf youâre quick enough, Iâll even give you 800.â
He was pressed for time now and could not be bothered to haggle with an unlicensed taxi driver.
When the driver heard this, his eyes widened. He immediately performed a series of swift actions, and thick smoke billowed from the taxiâs exhaust pipe.
They disappeared onto the road at a speed of 180 miles per hour.
In private room number eight on the third floor of Cloud Peak Palace Hotel, Justin was currently chatting and laughing with around ten business elites.
What surprised Hera was that Hunter was also present. There were also four other female employees from Universal Group at the table. There were no available seats on the womenâs side and only one seat between Justin and Hunter.
âLet me introduce everyone. This is Ms. Lewis from Baroque Group, the future supplier of nanochips for Universal Group,â Justin introduced to everyone at the table. He then continued to Hera, âThese are my colleagues, as well as the managers from the finance and audit departments.â
âHello, Ms. Lewis,â the others greeted Hera.
Hera felt a bit nervous but smiled and replied, âNo need to be so polite. I look forward to working with you all in the future.â
She had already interacted with some people from Universal Group before. They would not be so courteous to her if it were not for this meal. However, Hera also could not help but feel a little pleased with herself when she heard this group of normally haughty managers address her with respect. Justin smiled lightly. âMs. Lewis, please have a seat. The food will get cold soon.â
