Chapter 451
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 451
Bradley sat nonchalantly on a nearby bench, smoking.
Nash also smiled while comforting him saying, âDonât worry⦠This is Kenâs opportunity.â
Finn looked defeated. âNo matter how incredible the hand is, itâs still someone elseâs. It surely feels different than oneâs own!â
At that moment, Madam Lunaris walked out of the room with Ken.
Kenâs entire right hand was wrapped in bandages.
Nash immediately used his Third Eye to inspect it.
After all, having invested 3 billion, he had to check the results.
Black scales covered Kenâs right hand.
His palm still had five fingers, but the nails resembled eagle claws.
By appearance alone, it no longer looked human.
The blood and tendons in the hands had established a blood circulation system.
Meanwhile, the bones held an unsettling power.
âHow do you feel, Ken?â
Finn asked immediately, concerned about the 3 billion Nash had invested.
Ken replied in a daze, âI canât feel any painâ¦â
He had been knocked out by Madam Lunaris as soon as he entered the room and had no idea about what had transpired.
When he woke up, he found his hand bandaged and even doubted if he still had a hand.
Madam Lunaris laughed sinisterly. âThe anesthesia hasnât worn off. Of course, you canât feel pain.â
Then, she snorted coldly. âYouâre lucky⦠I merely didnât want to bring that thing into my coffin!â
âWhat thing?â
Finn asked, puzzled.
Everyone also looked at Madam Lunaris for answers.
âSomething valuable!â
Madam Lunaris did not want to explain too much, then looked at Nash and asked, âHow about it, Mr. Young? Are you satisfied?â
Nash responded politely, âVery satisfied.â
Madam Lunaris glanced at the ring on Nashâs finger and slowly walked back into the house.
Driven by curiosity, Melody asked, âWhat was that âthingâ Madam Lunaris mentioned? Is it related to Kenâs exchange?â
âItâs⦠hard to explain.â
âCome on⦠I funded that three billion!â
âIâll pay you back when we get home!â
âI want interest. Itâs now 3.5 billion!â
The day quickly passed.
After a good rest, they prepared to return to Jonford.
Not wanting to endure another lengthy journey, Nash booked plane tickets.
Melody also made an excuse to leave with Heidi and Nash.
On the plane, Melody kept pestering Nash about what Madam Lunaris had done to Ken.
She was very curious and simply would not let it go.
Nash pretended to be asleep, ignoring Melodyâs pleas.
âJust tell me, Mr. Nash!â
Melody even tried to act cute.
Nonetheless, Nash was not budging.
He simply pretended to have fallen asleep.
âHmph⦠Men! Iâll remember this!â Melody fumed, feeling like giving him a piece of her mind.
Heidi whispered, âMel⦠I once heard my dad mention that Madam Lunaris took a bottle of unicorn blood from an ancient tomb in Schiedamâ¦â
Melodyâs eyes widened, âUnicorn⦠blood?â
Heidi nodded. âYes⦠Itâs said to be from the king of Schiedam, Wendell Dackinâs, tomb. He allegedly hunted a unicorn.â
âKing Wendell Dackin, the grandfather of King Christian Dackin?â Melody exclaimed in shock. âThatâs a tomb from over 3,000 years ago! Is the unicorn blood story reliable?â
âI did some research at the time⦠The historical records donât mention much about King Wendell, so itâs hard to verify!â Heidi whispered.
âSo⦠you think Madam Lunaris might have injected unicorn blood into the severed palm of the Undead Corpse King?â Melody speculated.
âWell, thatâs what I think. Since Nash doesnât want to share, all we can do is guess!â Heidi smirked, glancing at Nash.
âYouâre really something, to have actually guessed it right!â
