Chapter 468
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 468
âDonât overthink it. I need to fill my time with meaningful things, and being the security manager in your company is just too idle of a job.â
âThen canât you just stay at the company and-â
Nash covered Heraâs mouth before she could finish her sentence.
Not knowing where to rest her hands, Hera ended up pressing them against Nashâs chest.
Nash smiled wickedly. âSay another word and Iâll have my way with you right now!â
âHmph, I wonât talk to you anymore!â
Hera turned away from Nash, but his hot body pressed against her back the next second. His strong and powerful hands reached around her from behind. His warm, masculine breath sprayed over her ear as he whispered, âWifey, itâs time to sleep. No more overthinking!â
His deep and magnetic voice sent shivers down Heraâs spine, making her feel weak all over. As Nashâs hands moved upward, she quickly pressed down on them and said, âAlright, Iâm not angry anymore. Letâs go to sleep!â
With a slight smile on his lips, Nash closed his eyes slowly.
In the evening, Finn, Bradley, and the lot of them drove into Jonesville in a convoy.
After nearly half a month of hard work, they were finally going home. They had relieved smiles on their faces.
âGrandpa, how much did we make this time?â Nico asked cheerfully.
Bradley had a cigarette in his hand. He flicked the ash out of the car window and said with a laugh, âAbout four billion or so!â
âF-Four billion?â Nico swallowed hard. âYouâve been tomb raiding all your life and only managed to accumulate ten billion. Yet, weâve made four billion this time?â
Bradley smiled and replied, âIn the past, 80% of our profits were taken by the Young family, and the remaining 20% were then divided among the hundred or so members of the Tomb Whisperer Lineage.
âSo, the amount we could actually get was quite limited. If it wasnât for me being a senior member of the Tomb Whisperer Lineage, I wouldnât have even accumulated ten billion!â
â80%? Nashâs clan was really taking too much. Thatâs all hard-earned money from your life and death missions!â Nico grumbled.
Bradley slapped Nico on the head. âYou little rabbit, what do you know?â
âGrandpa, youâre hitting my head again!â
Nico covered his head and looked at his grandfather aggrievedly. âIâm only speaking the truth. You guys were out there risking your lives while they were just sitting there enjoying the benefits and taking the lionâs share!â
Bradley raised his hand again.
Seeing that he was about to get slapped again, Nico hurriedly said, âIâll be quiet. Please donât hit me!â
Bradley withdrew his hand and then explained seriously, âYou can think of the Tomb
Whisperer Lineage as a business in the past. We were both employees and shareholders. Those in the management level had more shares, while the others had fewer. The earnings from each mission resulted in different levels of dividends.
âWe gave 80% of our profits to the Tomb Whisperer Lineage because itâs a rule when one enters the Tomb Whisperer Lineage to not forget those who have helped you. Our unique skills all come from the Tomb Whisperer Lineage, so itâs only fair for them to get a larger share.
âBesides, the leader also gave us an additional year-end bonus every year. That bonus itself is more money than an ordinary person can earn in their entire life!â
Then, Bradley cautioned profoundly, âYou need to learn to be content. Greed will only bring you disasters!â
Nico nodded despite not fully understanding what Bradley meant. âLike the Young family?â
The Young family had been too greedy, which ultimately led to the destruction of their clan.
This time, Bradley delivered a resounding slap to Nicoâs face, his anger akin to thunder. âThe Young family is powerful enough! They fear no enemy. If not for those traitors, they would have shone for a thousand years.
âWhere do you think our family would be if not for them? You think you can ridicule them?â
The slap was so loud that it nearly caused Derek, who was driving, to lose his grip on the steering wheel.
âMr. Bradley, please calm down.â
It was apparent that Bradley was actually pissed.
