Once Rejected My Alpha Stepbrother Wants Me Back Chapter 91
Once Rejected My Alpha Stepbrother Wants Me Back
Chapter 91
Josieâs POV
I walk awkwardly to the stage and as the spotlight shines on me everyone soul in the room claps their hands. Low hums of murmur fill the room.
I hope I donât melt to the ground. Iâve never stood before such a crowd except the day I was sentenced to death by my father.
âWelcome, Ms. Itâs good to have you in our midst. Iâm Stella by the way. The interviewer says, a smile ghosting across her
face.
âIâm honoredâ I manage.
Great. Itâs good my voice is not betraying the fear I feel.
We go over the introduction and the women begin throwing heavy questions at me,
âHow long have you been in this industry. Ms. Rose?â
âFive years, I respond, face straight.
Thatâs not that long. So, how were you able to learn various languages in just a short moment?
I think of what to say. But all that rushes to my mind is my life back at the pack. My day of detention and judgment.
My flee from the pack.
And mostly how having Aria became an inspiration for me to do better. Having my daughter lit a determined spirit in me- one thatâs still alive even today.
âDetermination and the desire to do better for that one person I cherish the most. I gush out, emotions tumbling inside me. Thatâs what thoughts about my daughter do to me every time.
âGreat. That really makes you peculiar from othersâ¦â Stella, the interviewer says to which I nod.
âIn that case, can you tell us about your relationship with your clients? The information we got reveals you had an affair with one Mr. Winston.â
What? I nearly gasp out loud but I restrain myself from doing so before the audience.
âThatâs impossible. I maintain strict professional relationships with my clients. There has never been a case where we had an
aflair
âBut Ms. Rose, the evidence that spread online weeks ago says you were trying to force yourself on Mr. Ashton Creed, the famous billionaire alpha doctorâ¦â
That question brings about a murmur in the room. All the audience whisper but I donât know if theyâre for or against me.
The shame I feel makes me feel like slinking into the ground. Can this get any worse?
âWhat do you have to say, Ms. Roseâ¦â Stella presses on, and I feel the heat flush my cheeks.
What do I say to this?
I open my mouth to speak but close it quickly. Words fail me and that increases the murmur.
I knew it
I know this conference will destroy my restored image in the city.

Surprisingly, amid chaotic chatter, a voice booms, making everyone in the room shut their mouths.
All eyes travel in the direction of the voice and there he is, standing like a god in the aisle in the middle of the room, his eyes bore into mine and I feel a prickle of hope in my spine.
Ashton fixes a hand in his pocket, watching Stella and me.
âI object that, Ms. Stella. Ashton argues.
Anticipation fills me about what will happen next as he begins prowling to the stage.
Breathing heavily. Ashton stops and takes a sit beside mine, crossing his arms.
âThe last time I checked. Ms. Rose has been nothing but a diligent teacher.â
âSheâs one of those people that does their job with passion. Ms. Rose is never one that gets frustrated when the client isnât following up, she always holds her clients in hand and guides them until they reach the peak they wantâ¦â
All the while Ashtonâs talking. I pin my eyes on him, shocked that he can give these details about me.
How is it that this man here knows so much when all weâve spent so far is not more than fortyâfive days?
With my eyes on him, I drink in every word and description he gives not just to Stella, the interviewer, but also to the audience
In between, a smile rips from my lips as well as streaks of tears.
âThatâs awesome. Stella gushes, lost in Ashtonâs words.
âSo, you see. Never has Ms. Rose pushed herself on me. It has never happened beforeâ¦
As Ashton says those last words, a round of applause echoes through the room.
I peek at the audience and see them clapping as they stand on their feet.
My heart blares with joy, watching as all this plays out. Itâs so amazing.
âCongratulations Ms. Rose. Youâre indeed one of a kindâ Stella says, crossing the distance between them and hugging me.
By the geddess, this overwhelms me.
While hugging Stella, I peer at Ashton from over her shoulder and see him grinning from ear to ear.
Greenpeace Media holds a luncheon for me in a private yet conducive room. An assortment of dishes I canât even finish fills the table, ranging from Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Russian, and American dishes.
âWow! This is too much!â I gasp as Stella walks me into the room
They have taken Ashton into another interview. These people are opportunists.
âYou deserve it, Ms. Roseâ¦â She beams at me.
âThank you,â I whisper.
âSome other time, weâd love to host you here for more interviews, how about that?â She asks, looking expectantly at me. âThatâll be amazing-
âGreat!â
She gives one last hug and leaves.
Instantly, I rush and put on the TV.
And there am I. trending in all the news channels in the city.
1 cup my mouth and scream. What I thought would damage me has made me the talk of the town.
I canât believe Iâm more famous than I was before!
Happily, I enjoy the dishes I can..
A while later, I saunter through the long hallway, wanting to exit the company but thatâs when I see him.
Ashton.
Heâs just coming out of the conference room, walking like a king-
I donât know what comes over me but I tear off in a dead rün, heading towards him.
Taking him by surprise, I flush my hands over his neck and begin whispering, âThank you so muchâ¦â
âGoddess, I wouldnât have done this without you.â
âUh. Ms. Roseâ¦â
I comport myself immediately and release his neck. Then, I look at him.
âMs. Rose.â Ashton calls again, a serious look on his face. When he says the next words, my heart stops beating. âThereâs something I want to tell youâ¦â
TBC.
