Once Rejected My Alpha Stepbrother Wants Me Back

Chapter 95
Ashtonâs POV.
I never knew drowning life sorrows in a bottle was this awesome.
But hell, here am I enjoying it. Drinking to the full while I rattle away all my sorrow to this stranger.
This is the twentyâfive shots on taking. Iâm not entirely drunk but I plan to get wasted. However, itâll take time because lycans and ordinary wolves donât get drunk so easily.
âYeah. Iâve had a crush on her for agessssâ¦â I slur again and fix my fingers on the rim of my glass, taking the shot.
âAnd what happened?â The stranger asks.
I swear, I donât even know the strangerâs name but I can make out his features.
He looks like a very powerful man.
Silver hair.
Angular face.
Piercing blue eyes.
As tall as I am
I give off the aura of a powerful lycan king but himâ¦? I canât lay a finger on what species of supernatural he is.
Aside from that, he looks filthy rich. I mean as rich as I am.
He is no ordinary man.
Regardless of that, I canât bring myself to stop talking. I rattle off all the things Ive always wanted from him.
The day I found out my crush and step sister is my mate, I already had a bet with my friends. I had to fulfill my end of the bargain. So, I rejected herâ¦â
âI bet it hurts. The stranger says.
âYou know what hurts more?â I press my hand on his powerful, muscled shoulder. He shakes his head and I hum. âItâs seeing your rival kissing your woman.â
Thatâs strange. The stranger says.
âIt sureeee is strangeeeee. I slur again.
Seeing my glasses are getting empty. I call the bartender to fill them up.
I drown more.
Take more.
Iâm literally in forty shots now.
âLooks like this mate of yours is very beautiful.â
Itâs a statement but I quickly bring out my phone and start showing him the pictures I took of Josie in secret.
âHer?â He suddenly blurts and I feel his aura change.
âYes, her. You know her? Ah, Iâm sure you must. Sheâs the famous language teacher. I prattle.
The man goes silent. Through blurry eyes, I see his eyes pinned on my phone screen as he grits his teeth.
Hours have passed, and Iâm sure itâs almost dawn. The pub is now empty. The stranger I was with had left.
He didnât even tell me his name.
I donât mind though.
I scrap the stool Iâm on as I try to get away.
Waving at the bartender, I hum Thanks bud. The shots were good
stagger away from the pub and make it to my car after stumbling thrice.
Settling on the wheel, 1 gear down the road.
While 1 drive, images of Josie fill my mind, swimming in my vision.
Itâs a surprise I made it back to the pack house without clashing with anyone.
The guards patrol the pack house as I walk down from my car.
âGood morning, alpha kingâ
Greetings come front and back but I only wave,
Iâm almost entering the foyer when Dane appears in front of me.
âAlpha. Man, you look wasted.â He snaps, crossing his arms over his chest.
âAhh, trust me, dude, thatâs the plan.â I chuckle.
Dane scratches his hair as if lost.
âBecause of her?â He booms.
1 only look at him but give no response.
âYou better let me get insideâ¦â I slur, wanting to push him aside but he announces.
âYour mother is here to see you?
As if was poured a bucket of water, the drunken daze left me.
âWhy?â I ask but another voice responds.
âIs that supposed to be a question, Ashton?â
, my mother. Itâs her indeed.
Slowly, I whirl around to face her.
âMother, Good to see you. I boom, winking at her.
She steps close with a hard look on her face.
âLook at how youâre wasting yourself, Ashton. She snaps, taking me in.
âSometimes a man needs it.â
âNonsense!â She throws her hands up. Bringing it down she says. âTm so disappointed about what you did today. Why would you defend that rotten stepsister of yours!â
âMind
your words, mother. Josie isnât just my stepsister. Sheâs my mate!â
âWas!â My mother howls after me. âShe was your mate. You now have Lena William as your mate and she has been asking about you. Caring about you!â
I shake my head, sliding my hand through my hair in exasperation.
Mother.â I try to stop but she doesnât let me speak.
âLena loves you. Youâll make her your Luna, Ashton. Iâm only here to remind you about that. You canât reject someone youâve marked. Curse or no curse!â
She walks away even as my eyes go round in surprise.
Wow, my mother is something else. I walk back to my room as my phone rings nonstop but Iâm too dazed to answer.
Josieâs POV
When Diego leaves, I finally take a breath.
Tessa put me on fire by inviting Diego when Ashtonâs here.
I wasnât myself having the two men in the same room. The two that want to claim me as theirs.
Sinking into the sofa, I sigh. The house is empty now but my feelings are not. Itâs rushing back and forth through my veins.
The look on Ashtonâs face when he was here flashes through my mind endlessly.
He was angry, I knew it.
I saw the redness of his eyes as if he was trying to control his lycan.
But why do I bother about how he feels! Why do I care if heâs happy or not?
Diego was happy. I saw it in the look he gave me.
He loved me being in his arms as he kissed me.
Thatâs who I should be worried about not Ashton.
And yet you keep worrying, huh! My wolfâsneers.
âPlease, donât start, Lady! I mutter but she scoffs.
Ashtonâ¦
His body physique. His facial expressions. His words all come to my mind like a tidal wave, rolling back and forth.
I huddle on the sofa as I think back to the events of this evening but my cheeks flush when I remember I was masturbating to the thought of Ashton in my toilet.
Damn, that was c
crazy.
âAnd sweet. I actually enjoyed it. My wolf speaks again.
âI knew you would. I reply back.
While bantering with my wolf, I feel my kitchen window slam open.
kun
I jerk up in fright and pant.
âWhat was that?â I ask myself in a low voice.
Stumbling on my feet, I pad to the kitchen but the window isnât open.
Was I dreaming?
In fear, I look around to find the particular window thatâs open but I find none.
Aloud knock suddenly lands on my front door and I freeze.
âGoddess, who could that be by this time?â I whisper.
About to cross the distance, the power in my house goes off quickly.
â ! Not now!â I whisperâyell.
Feeling my hands on the wall, I slide into the kitchen and find the candle.
I lit on and strut to the front door.
Peeking through the peephole, I see no one out there.
I canât open that door, I tell myself.
Dread builds inside me and I feel my way back to the living room. With a pounding heart, I dial Ashtonâs number.
The phone rings but he doesnât pick
âPick up, Ashton!â I whisper, dialing his number several times
Still, Ashton doesnât respond.
I donât know whatâs happening but I need someone to protect me.
I need Ashton here by my sideâ¦
