[Chapter {13}]

The Alpha's Vampire

*Not proofread*

Callum's POV

I was currently exiting the school Nathan hot on my tail. Ever since Nathan told me about the full moon and the extra hormones attached to it, I've been trying to avoid him as much as possible.

"Callum, wait up," Nathan called but I just ignored him continuing my walk.

"Callum, I said wait up," Nathan tried again but I just kept speed walking, I could see his car from here and it wasn't far off.

"Cal, what the hell," Nathan growled just as we reached his car, he used my arm to spin me around so fast I was dazed despite me being a vampire with speed.

I thought Nathan would be seething but instead, his face was contorted into one of confusion and hurt.

Maybe I'm overreacting I thought feeling embarrassed.

I brushed Nathan's arm gently before gesturing to the car. I think he got the message because he opened the door allowing me to enter the car.

He followed soon after slamming the door shut.

"Callum, what's wrong," Nathan asked his voice quivering. I refused to look at him since guilt was beginning to eat at me profusely.

"Callum, I'm talking to you!" Nathan growled loudly turning me to face him, my fangs popped out on their own accord more out of fear than anger.

His eyes were a bright yellow which had me wondering how angry he was at me.

The next words he uttered however made me feel completely guilty.

"Tell me what I did Cal, I promise I'll make it right," His voice was barely above a whisper making me doubt if a normal human could've heard him.

"Callum you're beginning to scare me, please talk to me Cal," Nathan murmured into my neck from were he was back hugging me.

"I'm sorry if I scared you Nathan, I've just been really out of it ever since you told me about the full moon. I'm not used to all this kind of things yet," I said covering my face in embarrassment.

"Callum, you know I'll not do anything you aren't comfortable with," Nathan said taking my hand from my face.

"I know Nate."

"Then why did you have to scare me that," Nathan asked now hugging me.

"I don't know Nate, maybe because I'm an idiot," I half joked covering my face with his shoulder.

"I thought I was loosing my mate you idiot," Nathan said chuckling.

"That's what I said," I cried in fake excitement causing Nathan to laugh loudly.

I could feel the tension clearing up and so I let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Now that this highly unnecessary drama is over with, can we get out of here. I can't believe I'm spending more time in school than I'm already forced to," I said twisting my face into that of agony.

Nathan's laughter filled the car as he started the engine. "You know we're going to your house right," Nathan asked pulling out of the parking lot.

"We are?"

"We are," he confirmed already driving in the direction of my house. Looks like I don't have a say in this huh, although it does seem strange that he suggests we go to my house.

Nathan is this sought of cute narcissist who takes much pride in his park. He makes us spend a lot of time there so he can boast more about them which as I said is quite cute.

I decide to just remain quiet for the rest of the ride. My life these past few weeks has been hazy, a lots of things have happened so sometimes I just feel the need to gather my thoughts.

"Cal, we're here," a voice called shaking me out of my sleep filled stupor.

It's weird for me to be feeling sleepy at this time, to be honest it's weird that I'm feeling sleepy at all.

"I'm sleepy, Nate," I drawled barely able to keep my eyes open.

I felt arms lift me up from my seat but after that, I lost consciousness.

_________

I walked through the dark tunnel trying to find any source of light since the darkness was low-key creeping me out. What!!, don't judge me, I'm not your regular vampire ok.

I didn't need to walk much farther because right in front of me was path with light reflecting on it.

I was about to walk into the lighted path, not something I'd do on a sunny day but oh well. The thing is the path suddenly dimmed and a figure walked out of it.

I felt an instant connection with this figure who was becoming clearer the more the light faded from him.

The man whom I could now see clearly considering the fact that he was a few feet away from me seemed oddly familiar.

"Who are you, and why do you look familiar," I asked

The man just laughed at my question flashing his pearly white teeth.

"Hello, confused vampire over here," I called oddly not feeling scared about telling him I'm a vampire.

"That's because I am familiar, I'm your dad," he replied his perfect smile still on his face.

"You're my d-dad, no wonder you looked familiar," I exclaimed feeling unnaturally giddy.

"You know, I was expecting a more emotional meeting between us," my dad said raising an eyebrow.

"I'm a vampire, dad," I deadpanned.

"Oh, how could I forget," he drawled at sarcastically and I couldn't help but think, this must be where I get my sarcasm from.

"Anyways as much as I feel comfortable around you, this is kind of weird. Why am I here and not in the human world."

"Well I sent for you."

"I can tell," I replied snorting.

"Hey don't try to be sarcastic with me, I'm your dad."

"Ya, ya, now tell me why I'm here."

"Let's see I called you here so I could meet my soon whom I'm very proud of."

"Awww, daddd," I fake awed keeping a cute face.

"And to tell you that your boyfriend is about to get himself killed."

That got my attention, "What," I exclaimed.

"Wait how do you even know Nate," I asked suspiciously although the answer's pretty clear.

"Oohh, nicknames now huh," he said wiggling his eyebrows.

"And to answer your question I'd say, dudeee I'm a ghost. It's kind of my thing to know things."

My dad just called me dude, I bet he's one of those cool dad's. Too bad his dead I thought letting a wave of sadness wash over me before quickly covering it up.

"So what's the deal with Nathan dad, how is he going to get himself killed."

"You see, he's trying to defeat a really evil force that he doesn't stand a chance against. The bad news is he's doing it all alone, the good news is that you have 24 hours to save him before....you know he dies."

"What the hell, there's no good news in that."

"You can do a lot in 24 hours son."

"Like what exactly."

"Like rescue your boyfriend, now quit talking so I can tell you what to do."

"Right, go on," I said my voice quivering slightly. When this is over, I'm going to have a talk with Nathan about trust. Heck I can't believe he's trying to get himself killed, although I doubt he knows that he'll die.

"Here's what I have for you. Amongst your friends there's one you can't trust for they are power hungry and will do anything to get what they want. But don't panic yet, your powers will come in due time, unless it's too late of course."

I stared at him in confusion, "If  my friend is going behind my back, can't you just tell me who they are."

"No Callum, it wasn't part of my bargain when I asked to see you."

"Bummer."

"Bummer's right, but the good thing is, you'll know who it is at the right time."

"What will the right time be, when Nathan life is flashing right before his eyes."

"Maybe."

"Come on dad, give me something to work with. You said something about me getting my powers at the right time, what's that supposed to mean."

"I can't tell you that son but what I can tell you is to not fight it when it comes. Your mom has always told you you're special, well you're about to find out just how special you are."

"Me special pfft, I can barely do vampire stuffs.... and I'm a vampire, I think that says it all."

"Just because you suck now doesn't mean you'll suck forever."

"Wow thanks Dad," I said letting him hear the sarcasm drip from each word.

"You're welcome son. Now I gotta go but I'll see you again sometime."

"You're leaving," I asked feeling the emotions I had been trying to hide hit me like a ton of bricks.

"Yes son, I was given a time limit," he replied and just then I saw his figure begin to fade little by little.

"B-bye dad," I called refusing to let the tears drop.

"Goodbye son, I'll always be proud of you. Remember, everything will come in due time and when it does embrace it."

"I will, even though I don't know what you're talking about."

My dad laughed a teary laugh and I noticed the tears running down his face.

"Goodbye son," my dad said fading completely.

"Bye dad," I whispered finally letting the tears drop.
