[Chapter {6}]
The Alpha's Vampire
Callum's POV
When Nathan told my mom that he was my boyfriend, I expected her to flip since he was a werewolf but no, she freaking squealed.
Then she proceeded to yell at me about how she's my mother and how I did not tell her sooner. Let's just say right now, I'm really hating Nathan freaking Packer.
My mom having invited him in had a small motherly talk with Nathan about how to be a proper boyfriend and the surprising thing about it all was the fact that he seemed to be listening with rapt attention.
After the whole boyfriend talk which ended with Nathan promising my mom not to hurt me and of course she added a few threats like drinking his blood dry if he ever did actually hurt me.
Nathan seemed terrified at first but then a look of determination crossed his features as he once again promised not to hurt me.
The conversation later switched from our 'relationship' to what actually mattered. It was no secret that werewolves and vampires weren't exactly the best of friends but here we were acting like a werewolf wasn't at our freaking home.
It wouldn't help if our clan were to find out about it. They'd definitely use it to torment us more than they already did.
Fuck, why couldn't my life be all sunshine and rainbows. I snorted immediately at the obvious irony of my thoughts. I am a vampire for freak sake and here I was thinking of sunshine and rainbows.
Nathan confessed to being the next alpha of blood moon park which had been in town for about two years.
He didn't tell us where exactly they lived at but promised to show us if we'd come with him to his pack.
My mom looked conflicted which was not an expression I was familiar with on her ever confident face. But I guess the thought of going to a place surrounded by werewolves could do that to you.
This could be a trap and they could attack us within a blink of an eye. There's no way we'd be able to protect ourselves from a pack of werewolves not to mention the fact that my vampire powers are close to useless and needs years of training to actually be improved upon.
Though hesitantly she decided to give another creature who wasn't a vampire a chance. She was determined to let me find happiness, if only she knew our relationship wasn't true.
Sometimes I wander what made Nathan make the impulsive decision of claiming to be my boyfriend. It couldn't just be a cover up for my mom, he had to have ulterior motives.
Or maybe it was just an in the moment kind of thing I thought trying to brush the topic off as I tried to concentrate on the football game I was supposed to be watching.
After making me promise to attend his game even if I wanted to do anything but that, Nathan had proceeded to slip that little detail to my mom who insisted that I should go to support him.
So here I was sitting on one of the high seats for the audience clad in Nathan's large football jersey which he had forced me to wear with Eliza and Justin's boyfriend on either side of me.
They were obviously here for Justin and maybe a little for Linc too. They had given all their attention to the game which started barely ten minutes ago and was already looking very intense.
I could see Nathan in all his glory, his football uniform fit his gorgeous body just perfectly. Until now there has still been no uproar indicating a goal but I figured it was too early for that.
Half way into the game from what I could decipher with my zero to none knowledge about football, it looked like our team had a pretty good lead with Nathan running with the ball in attempt to score a goal.
Like expected he'd made it causing a loud uproar from everyone at the first goal of the night. The game went on with our school in the lead with Nathan scoring most our goals. It was pretty obvious that he was the best player on the field.
His antics and how he got the ball and managed to remain with it must have caught the eye of most of the of most of the audience present including the scouts.
Then something unexpected happened. Even though Linc and Justin had been playing well too, I didn't expect the next and final goal to be from Linc leaving the scores as 24:18. With our school winning, but it was kind of obvious that the team we were currently playing against were not much of a challenge.
Linc looked so happy about result of his efforts, I couldn't help but be happy for him. His eyes scanned the crowd most likely looking for someone before coming to rest on me.
He gave me a dazzling grin which made my breath hitch. When he saw that he had my attention not to mention the attention of a few onlookers Nathan inclusive, he blew a kiss and then winked at me before returning his attention to his team that was currently screaming his name in victory.
I wished with every fiber in my body that some how, Nathan had been oblivious to the whole exchange but like always the universe was against me as he stood glaring at Linc with such burning rage I was surprised Linc hadn't burst into flames yet.
The longer he stood there glaring, the more the unsettling feeling in my stomach kept weighing me down. Nathan was really impulsive and I knew if I didn't at least try to calm him down now, everything will take a turn for the worst.
With that in mind I hurried over to were he currently stood beside his teammates who were oblivious to the seething Nathan beside them.
Linc had the spotlight for scoring the last goal, which seemed pretty stupid and pointless considering the fact that Nathan scored more goals than anybody on the field. Linc's last goal wasn't even needed to proclaim our school's football team the winners of this particular match.
When I had gotten within arms reach of Nathan, I immediately put a calming hand on his shoulder trying to tone down his rage. He tensed at my touch at first but then gradually started to lean into it.
But suddenly like something snapped he was out of whatever trance my touch seemed to put him in and looking past me with so much hatred it shocked me.
Linc came and wrapped his arms around my waist failing to sense the tension that was hanging thickly in the air.
"Hey Cal you want to come with me and the guys for our celebration dinner," he said shooting me that dazzling smile of his.
I didn't want to reject his offer but I also didn't like the idea of a blood battle happening before my eyes so I resorted to lying.
"Sorry Linc but I can't, I've got a family dinner and my mom will kill me if I missed it," I answered lying smoothly. Another perk of being a vampire we didn't have much of what you'd call a conscience which made situations like this pretty easy for us.
Linc face contorted into one of disappointment before he changed it back into his normal carefree self.
"But that means you'll be going on a date with me tomorrow and no excuses," he said kissing my cheek before winking at me and backing away from my peripheral vision.
When I looked at Nathan, I regretted doing that in an instant. He looked ready to kill someone and his hazel eyes were constantly flickering from hazel to yellow.
I couldn't have him outing who he was just because he was blinded by something as petty as rage.
I carefully guided him to a remote part of the building ready to reprimand him for almost letting his true self slip but he beat me to it.
"Listen to me Callum you are mine, you're fucking mine and I don't want anyone stealing you away from me got it," he growled and I watched in shock and confusion as his eyes flickered from hazel to bright yellow.
I gulped choosing to remain silent as IÂ watched him which seemed to be a bad decision.
"I said got it," he growled baring his teeth making him look wolfish which reminded me too much of the fact that he was actually a werewolf.
I started to panic a little due to the fact that we were completely isolated from the rest of the world and I didn't in the least have the power to take down a werewolf almost twice my size.
A scarily animalistic sound made its way across his throat as he bared his fangs at me his eyes glowing having choosen the bright yellow they had been contemplating on earlier.
I was slightly scared, I knew I'll resort to violence when the time comes but right now all I could do was hope that he wasn't planning on attacking me.
I'm not sure about what I did wrong but most especially, I'm not sure if my fighting skills will last long enough for me to call for help.
He roughly shoved his hand through his hair and took intimidating steps closer.
"Did you hear what I just said Callum, you're mine no one else's. Only MINE." He was strangely calm and downright possessive, which had me thinking about why he was so damn possessive in the first place.
It's not like we're dating or anything, well excluding the fake dating thing we told my mom but we weren't in any form of relationship.
Before I could contort my thoughts further, his hands came to my waist and roughly pulled me in his direction as he crashed his lips just as roughly on to mine.
This was becoming a daily occurrence I thought as his lips move furiously over mine conveying his anger while his arms tightened around me in what I'm guessing is a possessive gesture.
