Chapter 15
Billionaire’s Sweet Wife
Q After leaving Prosperian Company, Seraphina went to the studio first.
The studio was not close to the company. She and Emily were engaged in R&D work. Only after they made sure the new product would be successful would it be put into mass production.
However, Julian was eager to make quick gains. Sometimes he rushed into production and launched new products before they passed the stability test.
In Julianâs words, the market was changing quickly every day. If he didnât seize the opportunity, he would be replaced soon. Therefore, it was necessary for them to constantly develop new products so that they could continuously catch the attention of consumers and maintain their market share.
Seraphina disagreed with Julianâs aggressive marketing model.
She believed that a new product, from inspiration to experimentation, needed time to be repeatedly modified, and finally succeed. The process required patience.
Seraphina didnât think it was fine to ignore the necessary process just because Julian was in a hurry to launch the products.
She disagreed, but she was not a manager after all and only gave a few suggestions. However, Julian said that Seraphina didnât know how to do business. All she needed to do was to develop new products carefully and accelerate her speed, and she didnât need to care about other things.
Julian said that when he succeeded and became famous, Seraphina would also be a rich lady.
Seraphina had never thought of being a rich lady. As long as she was with Julian, she would be happy and contented.
For Julian, Seraphina had given up so much and done so many things. However, it turned out that she was just used by him.
When the red light appeared in front of Seraphina, she suddenly stepped on the brake pedal and came back to her senses.
She told herself, âI must stop thinking about it! The past is over. Itâs not too late to realize it.â
However, when Seraphina arrived at the studio, she found that Julian was shrewder than she had expected, Emily wasnât in the lab but in the archives room. There were several strangers who didnât seem to be nice in the studio.
âWhatâs going on?â Seraphina knew what was going on but asked calmly.
âSeraphina!â
At the sight of Seraphina, Emily seemed to see a lifesaver. âYouâre finally here! Those people are about to destroy the studio!â
Then Emily glared at those people.
Seraphina patted Emily to comfort her and asked, âWho are you?â
âWe are sent by Mr. Brown,â one of the people answered Seraphina, but in a very arrogant manner.
âMr. Brown sent you? Impossible! Mr. Brown didnât tell me about it,â Seraphina said.
âThatâs your business. We were ordered by Mr. Brown to cooperate with you from today in the studio to develop new products as soon as possible.â
Hearing that, Seraphina sneered in her mind, âCooperation? Itâs surveillance! But Julian is stu pid enough. Does he still think that after what happened yesterday, I will stay and continue to work for him as if nothing has happened?â
A sarcastic smile touched Seraphinaâs lips. âSince you will cooperate with me, why donât you go to the laboratory and help me?â Seraphina said.
âThey asked me to find all the R&D materials and hand over the keys to the archives. room!â Emily said hurriedly.
âR&D materials? Those are confidential. Why should I give them to you?â Seraphina asked.
âMr. Brown saidâ¦â
This time, before the person finished his words, Seraphina interrupted, âDonât keep mentioning Mr.
Brownâs name. He said that he would talk to me in person. You said it was Mr. Brown who sent you here, but I can say you were spies from the enemy company!â
After being scolded, the people looked at each other.
In the end, someone took the lead and stepped forward, saying, âMs. Jones, weâre just following orders. If you have any objection, please contact Mr. Brown. We just do what he orders us to do!â
14:02 Mon, 29 Jan B âOkay, do you think I dare not?â Seraphina said.
Staring at the personâs face, Seraphina took out her phone and called Julian in front of him.
The phone wasnât answered for a long time. It was clearly connected, but no one spoke.
Seraphina knew that Julian was taking revenge on her!
Seraphina didnât answer Julianâs calls before, so he did the same this time.
Seraphina thought, âDoes he think he can frustrate me and make me give in in this way?â
The man standing opposite Seraphina smiled proudly as if he had seen that her call wasnât answered.
âMs. Jones, your assistant has been looking for the materials for over an hour. Itâs pointless to waste time like this. We have plenty of time. Since the materials are confidential, they belong to the company.
Mr. Brown meant well to ask you to hand them over and we will take good care of them!â
âHeâs really kind,â said Seraphina.
After hanging up the phone, Seraphina smiled coldly and turned her head slightly. âEmily, find them,â
she said.
Hearing Seraphinaâs words, Emily, who was determined to resist, was shocked.
âSeraphina, those materials are all our efforts and precious. They must have an ulterior motive since they suddenly want them!â Emily said.
Seraphina knew that Julian was watching out for her, so he had to take all the materials away. If there were any disputes in the future, he would have enough evidence to prove that Vivian was the greatest contributor to Prosperian Company and the developer of all those products.
âGive them to him!â Seraphina raised her volume.
âHe is right. The materials are confidential, and they belong to the company. Since Mr. Brown needs them, we should give them to him,â Seraphina added.
Emily was reluctant, but Seraphina had already said so, so she could only go get the key in frustration.
Looking at Seraphina again, Emily knew that she had made up her mind. Emily was puzzled and wanted to ask, but she held back.
14:02 Mon, 29 Jan B O 41 All the materials were very thick and piled up. Those people moved all the materials. out. There was a car waiting outside long ago. Everything had been moved and the key to the archives room was also taken away.
âYouâve taken everything away. Why do we need the key to this empty room?â Emily said angrily.
âMr. Brown orderedâ¦â
âGive it to him!â Seraphina said.
Seraphina motioned Emily with her chin.
She thought, âDo you really think the materials are important? Julian, the most important and precious things I have are in my mind. Do you think that taking away these things can threaten me?â
Emily gritted her teeth and smashed the key directly on that man.
The man was very agile. He grabbed the key and turned around to get in the car.
They must go back to report to Julian. Seraphina didnât ask more.
Seeing the cars drive away, Emily couldnât help asking, âSeraphina, why did you give them all the materials? Without them, how can we prove that all products were developed by you instead of Vivian?â
âEmily, canât we prove it without the materials?â Seraphina smiled disapprovingly and continued calmly, âDonât worry. I have a plan.â
She thought to herself, âIf Julian dares to set a trap for me, Iâll push him down.â
Although Emily still didnât understand, seeing Seraphina full of confidence, she didnât ask any more questions.
âSeraphina, werenât you going to quit? Why are you back?â Emily wondered.
