Chapter 15
Chasing His Runaway Wife
Malcolm looked back at Naomi.
In the chaos just now, Naomiâs arm was also cut by broken glass and bled a lot.
There was a fierce old scar where the blood flowed. It was the mark of a wound from a dog bite when she was young, a sacrifice to save Malcolmâs life.
But Malcolm just paused and looked serious. âNaomi, Iâll take Tabitha to the hospital first!â
Before Malcolm could finish his words, he had already disappeared at the door with Tabitha in his arms.
Naomi stood in place, her expression shifting several times, subtly showing a mix of ferocity and jealousy.
Malcolm rushed into the hospital with Tabitha in his arms. A doctor had been informed to wait at the gate and quickly put Tabitha in a cot.
When Tabitha was finally taken into the emergency room, Malcolm slumped into a chair.
His mind went back to the moment when Tabitha stood in front of him, shielding him from the shards.
He remembered her pale face and the blood gurgling from her body.
The crimson sharply contrasted with her pale face, creating a startling sight.
His fingertips were shaking.
âDoesnât Tabitha have another man outside? Why did she stand in front of me without hesitation?â he mused.
Alaric got the news and rushed over. When he arrived, he swung his walking cane at Malcolm several times.
MMI BBB BBM M âJerk, you made Tabitha get hurt again!â he berated.

Fortunately, the doctor came out of the emergency room not long after.
The doctor informed, âThe patientâs back is severely scratched, and her limbs had cuts, big and small.
However, all the broken glass has been taken out. Donât worry. Sheâs not in danger, butâ¦â
Malcolm pressed his thin lips together and felt his heart race involuntarily. He stared at the doctor and asked, âBut what?â
He had never seen a person bleed so much. Although he had tried his best to press her wound, the blood still flowed unstoppably.
The doctor appeared serious and explained, âThe patient has coagulation. disorder. Her pregnancy is not stable. With the injury to her body now, she must take good care of herself. Otherwise, if thereâs another accident, itâs very likely to result in a miscarriage.â
Malcolm was stunned. He asked, âA miscarriage?â
Even though Malcolm didnât know which man was the father of the baby in Tabithaâs belly, she was injured so badly to save him.
For a moment, Malcolm couldnât tell whether there. was more hatred or guilt in his heart.
Alaric was furious, his eyes turning red as he swung the walking cane to hit Malcolm again. He scolded, âTabbyâs health hasnât been great. She just never revealed her weakness in front of you.

Malcolm stood by Tabithaâs bed in silence, gazing at her pale and tired face, feeling a mix of conflicting emotions in his mind.
âHow could such a weak body have the courage to stand in front of me without hesitation when danger came?
âIf she doesnât love me, thereâs no need to do this.
âBut if she loves me, she wouldnât be pregnant with someone elseâs baby, Malcolm thought.
Tabitha woke up in pain at midnight and turned to see Malcolm sitting beside her. It surprised her a bit, but mostly, she felt calm.
âWhy are you here?â she asked.
Malcolm ignored her cold expression and asked in a low voice, âAre you awake?â
Tabitha turned her face to the wall without saying anything or showing any expression. Her thin eyelashes drooped a bit, casting a faint shadow on her pale face.
She smiled bitterly within herself and mocked herself for becoming tenderhearted and inviting trouble.
She had made up her mind to completely let go of this relationship, but at that moment, she instinctively rushed over to shield him.
A quiet tension filled the air. Malcolm couldnât get any response from Tabitha, and his thin lips tightened.

Tabitha suppressed her complicated thoughts and said in a cold voice, âThe doctor said that my life is not in danger. I wonât die. You can leave.â
Malcolm fell silent for a moment, his eyes filled with complex and unclear emotions. Surprisingly patient this time, he didnât mind Tabithaâs cold words.
âAt Four Seasons Bar, you-â He spoke again.
âThat was just an accident!â Tabitha interrupted him quickly, raising her voice.
Realizing she was overreacting, Tabitha suppressed her emotions and said indifferently, âIâll explain it to Grandpa Alaric. My injury has nothing to do with you. Donât flatter yourself.â
She spoke quickly, and she was slightly gasping. Despite appearing as fragile as a kitten, her body was covered with metaphorical thorns.
Malcolm pursed his lips.
Seeing that he didnât leave, Tabitha said coldly, âGo. I donât want to see you now.â
Malcolm knew that her back was badly hurt, and she couldnât lie flat, so she could only lie on her side.
Every word she said would tug at her wounds, and it was even more painful for her to move.
He pursed his lips as if he didnât hear her words. Instead of leaving, he approached her a little bit.
Tabithaâs arm was held by him, and her expression changed. She asked, MMI B B B BBM M
