Chapter 22
Chasing His Runaway Wife
Malcolm visibly stiffened after meeting them. He asked, âGrandpa, have you guys finished browsing through the brochure?â
At this, the wrinkle between Alaricâs brows deepened. He groaned loudly. and expressed his unwillingness to respond to Malcolm.
Afraid Alaric would get angry again, Tabitha coaxed lightly, âGrandpa Alaric, itâs windy out here.
Perhaps itâs better if we go back inside.â
Alaric nodded slightly. With a complicated expression, he turned back to glimpse Malcolm.
Malcolm was still wearing a suit. The rich and luxurious material wast draped over him. He was tall and handsome and looked like quite a decent.
man.
ad It was a pity because after he did those shameless and despicable things, he was now a true disgrace to the Sinclair family.
Alaricâs gaze was strange. Malcolm was just about to inquire about it, but Alaric had already brought Tabitha with him back into the mansion.
Back in the living room, Alaric patted the back of Tabithaâs hand and comforted her lovingly, âTabby, donât be sad. I only recognize you as the lady of the Sinclair family. Only your children will be the rightful heirs of the Sinclair family.â
Tabithaâs eyes fluttered, but the edges of her mouth stayed put. Despite that, she still felt grateful for his comfort.
âDonât worry, Grandpa Alaric. Iâm not sad,â she claimed.
Alaric stayed there with her but once the clock struck ten, he could not fight the tiredness anymore and went back to the Sinclair manor, P Chapter 99.
NN After seeing Alaric off, Tabitha went straight to the bedroom and called Chadwick.
Chadwickâs eyes need to be checked regularly. She was Chadwickâs doctor and, originally, she was supposed to examine him today.
However, she was so badly injured that she had to stay at home and rest, so she could only seek the help of other colleagues at the clinic to give Chadwick a checkâup in her stead.
Her colleague had just messaged her on WhatsApp to notify her that Chadwick had not come in. She wanted to know why.
Chadwick confirmed numerous times and even swore on the phone that his eyes were healed now and that there was no need for a return visit.
Tabitha was still worried. âCome to the clinic tomorrow. Let me check them again,â she requested.
Chadwick agreed goodâhumoredly.
On the next day, Tabitha went to the clinic early.
The Jarvis family was a prestigious family of traditional medicine. practitioners.
Tabithaâs grandpa, Fergus Jarvis, was a typical traditional medicine. practitioner with excellent skills and a good reputation in the local area.
Since Tabitha was young, she learned traditional medicine from Fergus. She even majored in traditional medicine at university. Despite that, after she got married, she centered all her attention on Malcolm and was busy with matters regarding him, so the time she spent at the clinic grew shorter.
She had not been to the clinic for nearly a month since she got pregnant, and so many things happened at home.
DNN 90% 14:20 Her colleagues missed her greatly. Seeing that she was pale and sickly, they all surrounded her and bombarded her with questions out of concern.
Suddenly, Judith, Tabithaâs colleague, tapped her on the elbow.
âChadwickâs here,â she announced.
Tabitha turned and saw Chadwick strolling in.
Chadwick was an attractive man. He was bright and fresh like a spring breeze. As he paced closer, the entire clinic was imbued with his warmth instantly.
Two female colleagues peeped at him and accidentally met his gentle eyes. They were so shy that their faces flushed red.
Tabitha led him to the consultation table and examined his eyes, but it was as he said; his eyes were already healed for the most part.
She took out an exquisitely designed box and handed it to him, saying, âThis is a pair of sunglasses I especially selected. Itâs for you. You have to wear it when you go out.â
After his eyes had sustained such a serious injury, there was no harm in taking good care of them.
âSince my eyes are all healed, there is no need to wear glasses anymore.â Chadwick could not help but laugh before he nagged, âYou, on the other hand, are in poor health. Try not to go out again until you recover.â
âThatâs because my body constitution isnât good now. Anyway, your eyes just got better, after all. You still need to pay more attention to them.â After saying that, Tabitha took out the small pot of âdown paymentâ and said, âThis is too expensive. Iâm afraid that I canât take good care of it and let you down.â
âHow come?â Chadwick said softly, âYou can even make tulips blossom in winter. How could a pot of jasmine stump you?â
M A NNOS 9% 14:26 âChadwick, listen to me,â Tabitha urged as she looked at him seriously. âI know that itâs already so hard to go through this alone. Not to mention the fact that you canât find your family for the time being.
Luckily, you have a wonderful botany skill. You can tend to this jasmine plant so well that itâs thriving.
You can find a way to plant a few more pots and sell them online. I will introduce some customers to you.â
âWhy should I sell it? Besides, donât I have you? Donât tell me youâre not going to care about me later on,â he retorted.
âYouâve got to save some money. If you meet the girl you like one day, only then would you be able to give her a sense of financial security. Thatâs the only way you can promise to commit to your sweetheart.â Tabitha chuckled before adding, âWith that said, if you save up to buy a house, you wonât have to keep renting.â
âThank you, Tabby. Youâre always looking out for me. Iâll take the glasses as a gift in exchange for the jasmine,â Chadwick complied. With a lowered gaze he appealed, âDonât reject it anymore.â
Seeing how he kept insisting, Tabitha could only agree with a smile. âIt seems that in the future Iâd have to give you a pair of glasses every year for more than ten years before they can even match the value of your jasmine.â
Her words made Chadwickâs eyes redden slightly. âThese are your words, okay? You promise youâll gift me glasses for more than ten years.â
Chadwick was homeless. He had no memory and was nearly blind. It was Tabitha who found him and kept taking good care of him..
Chadwick thought to himself, âAs long as I can keep being her friend. forever, Iâll do anything.
âOkay,â Tabitha agreed and nodded with a smile. After repeated examinations, she prescribed him some herbal supplements.
CSS M M DNNO 99% 14:26 âWhen you go back, you must drink these supplements regularly. No slacking off. Also, be sure to wear the sunglasses when you go out!â she reminded.
âYes, Dr. Jarvis,â he promised.
Tabitha smiled and handed the prescription to her colleague for them to prepare it.
After that, with a serious look on her face, she looked at Chadwick and said, âI have something to ask of you.â
âGo ahead. No matter what it is, you have my word,â he answered without hesitation.
âHe didnât even ask me what it was about, and he just agreed. Isnât he afraid. Iâll sell him off?â she wondered to herself. Tabitha smiled at the thought before she offered, âThereâs an auction coming up in two days, and I was thinking of having you accompany me.â
Chadwick found that her proposition was rather odd. She asked, âYou. havenât attended such occasions in the past. Why this time?â
âI donât want to be like that anymore.â Tabitha smiled as she spoke but her eyes misted over with emotion. One could not be certain if it was grief or anger. âSince I married Malcolm, Iâve almost lost myself. I want to find myself againâthe old me.â
