Chapter 45
Chasing His Runaway Wife
Tabitha was glad that she had a backup copy of the important documents. in her bag.
Naomi didnât know what it was but had an ominous feeling. She instinctively wanted to grab it but Sylvie had already taken it.
All the information and evidence could be seen at a glance. Sylvie trembled with anger. She couldnât help but slap Naomi in the face with all her strength.
âWhy do you want to harm me? Youâre the one who introduced Mr. Weiss. to me. If I can become his legal wife, youâd have nothing to lose. Youâd only stand to gain! Why did you do this to me?â
Naomi held her face. She knew that things were worsening by the second, but she gritted her teeth and acted aggrieved.
âSylvie, youâve misunderstood me. Tabitha has a grudge against me, so sheâs trying to slander me,â
she said.
Tabitha ignored Naomi and answered Sylvie in a cold voice, âThink about it carefully. Did Naomi always try to instigate and urge you to hate me or even take revenge on me? Who do you think will benefit the most if I lose my baby?â
Sylvie immediately understood everything.
Her eyes widened in fury, and she glared at Naomi. âI thought you were my best friend, but you used me!â
The rage of being played with and betrayed caused her to lose all rational thought. She screamed like a madwoman, thrusting the knife at Naomi.
Naomiâs pupils shrank and she hurriedly stepped back, but the blade. quickly cut the back of her hand.
Blood immediately gushed out of the EPPD wound.

Sylvie had lost her mind and wanted to attack Naomi again. The security guard in the hospital rushed over in time and quickly stopped her.
Tabitha coldly watched as the farce unfolded. She still couldnât get rid of her hatred.
When Malcolm got the news and rushed to the hospital, Sylvie had already been taken away by the police.
On the way here, he was filled in on what had happened. When he arrived at the ward, he saw Naomi sitting there with a pale face and bandages on her hands.
Malcolm frowned and looked at Naomi coldly. âArenât Sylvie and you good friends? Why did she suddenly attack you?â
Naomi explained, âTabitha was afraid Sylvie would hurt her, so she framed me and said I was the one who tipped off Mrs. Weissâ¦â
She seemed unable to continue and cried even more sadly.
The look in Malcolmâs eyes was unfathomable. He said slowly, âSylvie hurt you. Do you want me to put her in jail?â
Naomi couldnât understand the look in his eyes. A slight cold chill suddenly ran down her back. In the end, she chose to display the safest reaction. âForget it. She and I are friends, after all, and she just lost her child. She only hurt me because someone agitated her.â
Malcolm just hummed lightly and emotionlessly in response.
Naomi was even more confused.

But she didnât dare to show it. She just leaned into his arms and whispered, âMalcolm, I was so scared.
Will you break up with me if I lose our baby?â
Malcolm frowned imperceptibly. He pushed Naomi away, held her arm, and helped her to sit down.
Then he relaxed his brows a little.
âYou should take good care of your wounds first. Donât think too much,â he said.
Seeing that he avoided answering, Naomi didnât know how to feel. She bit her lip and asked again, âIf the baby is really gone, we can just have another one, right?â
âAnother one?â Malcolm thought. He subconsciously rejected the idea.
When he was about to speak, he suddenly sensed something and looked up at the door of the ward.
Tabitha was standing outside the door, looking at him indifferently.
âI just happened to pass by. Iâm leaving right now. You guys continue your conversation.â
The doctor gave her some antiâabortifacient pills just now, and she happened to pass by here on the way to retrieve them. She didnât mean to eavesdrop on their conversation.
Tabitha had no interest in arguing with Malcolm and was about to leave.
Malcolm hesitated for a few seconds before calling out to her, âAre you all right?â
From Saulâs description, he knew that Sylvie had gone after Tabitha initially and even pointed a knife at her.
i C & & H X DNNOS 14:37 Tabitha replied without looking back, Iâm fine. You can report back to Grandpa Alaric without worry.â
She said she was fine, but her footsteps were very weak, and she walked slowly. The wide coat draped over her body made her back look extremely thin.
âThis woman always puts on a strong front, he thought.
Malcolm pursed his lips. Somehow, Tabithaâs appearance made him a little irritated.
âIâll ask my assistant to send you home.â He spoke in a deep voice, which had a tinge of worry that he didnât even notice.
Naomi had a grim expression on her face. Her fingernails slightly dug into her palm as unease and alarm arose within her heart.
Ever since Tabitha appeared, Malcolmâs attention was completely focused on her.
âNo need. Youâd better send more people to keep an eye on the darling in your arms. What if Sylvie goes crazy and stabs her to death one day?â Tabitha said.
She paused in her steps and laughed sarcastically. âIf that happens, there may not be another person like my father who is willing to rush up to save her. Mr. Sinclair, you should keep a good eye on her so that she wonât harm others.â
