Chapter 70
Chasing His Runaway Wife
Malcolm hired two caregivers to take care of Naomi and then he went back to the office to wrap things up.
The annual vacation was coming soon, and the company had more and more things to deal with.
By the time he was done, the sky had already turned dark.
Saul took the elevator downstairs with him. Noticing Malcolmâs tired look, Saul couldnât help asking, âMr. Sinclair, do you still want to go to the hospital?â
With all the commotion caused by Naomi that day, Saul figured that Malcolm would have to visit the hospital on these few days.
âBut what is the purpose of Mr. Sinclair for arranging those two caregivers?â Saul wondered.
Malcolm looked at the neon lights outside and couldnât help thinking of Tabitha.
He pinched his eyebrows and said, âGo back to the Sinclair manor.â
Saul didnât know if it was an illusion. For a moment just now, Saul felt that Malcolmâs eyes were a bit gentle.
Saul found it unbelievable.
Halfway through the journey, it began to rain.
Although the rain was light, the winter breeze made it almost bone- chilling.
When Malcolm got home, he was surprised to see Tabitha still awake. Upon seeing Malcolm enter, she merely greeted him faintly.

âWhy arenât you sleeping?â he asked.
Malcolm held a vague expectation in his heart. He hoped that Tabitha was waiting for him to come home.
Tabitha came downstairs to get water. She just got a call from Trevor and learned that Giuseppe had returned to the country.
The culprit who killed her parents finally came back after staying abroad for so many years.
Unfortunately, she couldnât find evidence to prosecute Giuseppe for the time being. She could only watch the culprits get away with the crime one by one.
However, she didnât want to say a word about these things to Malcolm, so she got up and went back to her room.
Malcolm had the illusion that Tabithaâs expression became impatient after seeing him.
Inexplicably, he felt a little depressed. Then he went upstairs into the bedroom and found Tabitha on the balcony.
âItâs so cold and raining outside. What is she doing out there?â he thought.
He was about to ask when she came in with a pot of jasmine, then went out again and brought in another pot of houseleek.
The drizzle hit the balcony, wetting her bangs on her forehead. She looked a little petite and frail.
Malcolmâs coldness suddenly intensified, and the anger in his tone was almost insuppressible.

âThe temperature will drop when it rains. The plants cannot withstand cold. Itâs safer to move them indoors,â Tabitha responded nonchalantly.
âThese things are delicate. Only you are willing to nurture them with effort,â Malcolm said, looking down at her wrist. It was still empty, and the anger in his heart soared uncontrollably.
She treasured the gifts from others, but he had never seen her wearing the bracelet he gave her.
After Tabitha put away the two pots of plants, she noticed Malcolm staring at her wrist. His blue eyes were blazing with flames.
She raised her wrist strangely and asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
âAs the lady of the Sinclair family, why donât you even have a piece of decent jewelry on your body?
Those who know nothing might think that the Sinclair family has mistreated you,â Malcolm responded.
Tabitha was stunned.
âWho wears jewelry in the middle of the night?â she mused.
âIâm a doctor. Itâs inconvenient to wear those things,â she answered.
However, Malcolm reminded her of one thing.
âBy the way, I have a friend who likes Lone Starâs Tear you bought at the auction, so I gave it to her,â
she said.
Malcolm couldnât hold back his anger anymore. He snapped, âDid you just simply give away the gift I gave you?â
âI didnât simply give it away.â Tabitha took out her phone and said, âShe transferred the money to me. Iâll transfer it back to you now.â
When Colette transferred the money to her, Malcolm was still on a business trip. Tabitha planned to wait until he came back and told him. about it, but she forgot about it.
Malcolm stared at Tabitha coldly with emotion in his eyes that she couldnât understand. âDo you think the Sinclair family lacks 6 million dollars?â
Tabitha knew she was wrong. She held back her temper and said, âItâs my fault. I didnât discuss it with you in advance. But my friend didnât pay a penny less. She paid me even the handling fee.â
Malcolm took a few steps closer to her. âDonât you like Lone Starâs Tear? Why did you give it away?â
Tabitha felt a little threatened by Malcolm, so she subconsciously stepped back and said, âItâs just an external thing. I donât care much.â
âYou!â Malcolm approached her again and looked down at her. He wanted to ask Tabitha whether she didnât care about Lone Starâs Tear or just him.
