Chapter 74
Chasing His Runaway Wife
At the same time, someone shouted, âEveryone, stop it!â The manager of the bar ran over, screaming while wiping his cold sweat. Behind him was a group of security guards who quickly pulled John and others away.
The manager ran to Malcolm in a panic and kept apologizing, âMr. Sinclair, I didnât know you would come so suddenly. Itâs a mess hereâ¦â
Malcolm glanced at him faintly and said, âMake them disappear.â
The manager lowered his head and said, âYes.â
Then, he turned to look at John and said, âTake your men out of here right away.â
John stared at the manager, dissatisfaction in his eyes, and asked, âWhatâs wrong with you? How dare you meddle in my business?â
Even though John had recently been released from prison, his connections and influence remained intact. The manager did not dare to provoke him, so he chose not to mediate when they were engaged in a fight earlier.
However, now, the scion of the Sinclair family, Malcolm, had arrived.
If something happened to Malcolm here, the bar would face consequences and shut down. Additionally, he would not be able to stay in Xosa any longer.
The manager ignored Johnâs threat or questioning. Instead, he asked someone to kick John and his minions out with a cold face.
The crisis was finally resolved. Malcolm first looked at Tabitha and then at Emmanuel, his anger unquenchable.
âTabitha, what are you doing in the bar at midnight?â Malcolm asked.
MM M FN 227% 15:03 Malcolm could not imagine what would have happened if he had come even a little late in such a dangerous situation.
Tabitha and Malcolm were so close, and she could smell the faint perfume on him. She wondered if it belonged to that woman.
The gratitude that had just surfaced in her mind diminished instantly, and a hint of coldness crept up her brows.
âI can go wherever I like. It has nothing to do with you,â she refuted.
Malcolmâs heart felt as if it had been doused with a basin of cold water. He looked at Tabitha intensely and repeated, âIt has nothing to do with me?â
Tabitha diverted her gaze and did not respond.
âItâs my fault. I was in trouble. Tabitha came to the bar because she was worried about me,â Emmanuel hurriedly said.
Malcolm frowned, took a few steps forward, separating Emmanuel from Tabitha, and stared at Emmanuel coldly. âYou were in trouble. Why did you look for Tabitha?â he asked.
Tabitha interrupted coldly, âI came here myself. He got into trouble because he wanted to help me.â
Malcolmâs anger intensified after he saw her defend Emmanuel.
âDo not come to these chaotic places anymore. How long has it been since the wine rack incident?
Why havenât you learned your lesson?â Malcolm asked.
Emmanuel smiled subtly as he witnessed their quarrel. He lowered his eyebrows and said nothing more.
Tabitha did not want to argue with Malcolm. She turned around and looked at Emmanuel, saying, âAre you seriously injured? Should I take you to the hospital first?â
MMM Emmanuel was covered in bruises and did not look too good.
427% 15:03 Malcolm could not believe it. He left the companyâs annual party behind and rushed over to save Tabitha.
Yet, instead of being grateful, Tabitha treated him indifferently and cared for the one who caused the trouble.
Although Emmanuel did look badly hurt, Malcolm still felt deeply upset about Tabithaâs concern for Emmanuel.
Emmanuel clutched his chest in time and whispered, âDonât botherâ¦â
âYour mouth is bleeding,â Tabitha said with concern. She added, âLetâs go to the hospital first and see where youâre injured.â
Malcolm called out, âSaul.â He did not want to see Tabitha care about Emmanuel anymore. He commanded, âTake Emmanuel to the hospital.â
Being a perceptive person, Saul immediately stepped forward to hold Emmanuel and said politely, âYes. Mr. Emmanuel Sinclair, Iâll take you to the hospital.â
Emmanuel said gratefully, âThank you.â
Tabitha appeared to be staring at Emmanuelâs back in a daze until both Emmanuel and Saul disappeared from her sight.
Malcolm could not stand it anymore, so he took Tabithaâs hand and got into the car.
It was almost Christmas, and the streets were so empty that they could hear their breathing in the car.
5 Malcolmâs entire body was seething with anger. Watching Tabitha carefully fasten her seat belt, he could not hold back his emotion anymore and remarked, âYou know how to protect yourself now? Didnât you consider the consequences of putting yourself in danger just now?â

She knew Malcolm did not believe that Naomi had killed her parents. Hence, she did not even bother to say a word to him.
Malcolm felt that Tabitha was feeling guilty. He asked, âWhy are you here with Emmanuel?â
Malcolmâs mind was filled with thoughts of Tabitha coming to the bar with Emmanuel in the middle of the night and manipulating him to get into a fight.
Ultimately, he was the one who saved her. Yet, she did not express any gratitude. Instead, she only wanted to send Emmanuel to the hospital.
A mixture of rage and jealousy surged within him.
Seeing that Tabitha still did not want to speak, Malcolmâs handsome face completely darkened. He declared, âI will investigate this matter thoroughly.â
Tabitha knew what Malcolm was capable of. It would not take him a day to find out the ins and outs of the incident.
She said coldly, âEmmanuel is here to help me find out the cause of my parentsâ death.â
Malcolm looked at her in disbelief, his eyes fixed on Tabitha as he said, âHow long have you known Emmanuel? Is he investigating an incident from eight years ago for you now? Regardless of whether his words are credible or not, if Grandpa knows about this kind of thingâ¦â
Tabitha looked at him calmly and said, âMalcolm, I know youâre prejudiced against Emmanuel. But I hope you wonât tell Grandpa Alaric anything about what happened tonight.â
MM M 27% 15:03 Her tone was flat, quiet, and pleading, but Malcolmâs heart felt heavy as if pressed by a big stone.
He looked gloomy and mocked, âWhat? Are you afraid he will be scolded by Grandpa?â
