Chapter 12
Obscure Motives
Terry's Bedroom
Chapter Twelve: You are mine
Grayson's POV
I push my leg in between Terry's thighs, so that our bodies should be closer. I look into the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes I have ever seen. As we lay against each other, chest to chest, I realize that settling down is not overrated. When my so called "mother" practically dug my father in his grave herself by hurting him, I decided that in order for me to avoid that pain, it's best to just not settle down. But here I am, ready to give my everything to this curly ball of stubbornness named Terry Baker.
"This is the smallest bedroom I have ever been in." I say breaking the silence.
"This is the biggest bedroom I have ever had." Terry says giving me the 'you spoiled brat' look.
"I didn't mean it like that." I push back his hair that was starting to fall on his face. " Damn. You are so beautiful."
"Thank you." He leans in further into my touch closing his eyes.
"Now that you are out and back on your feet, I wanted to ask you something." I state trying not to vomit from the fear.
"Sure."
"Terry Baker, since we both know you are mine, will you go on a date with me?"
"Yes I will." And with that, Terry launches himself at me and finds himself straddling me. He lowers his lips to mine and presses against mine. As we start our movement in sync, he opens his mouth letting me in. Before the kiss can get anymore heated, I pull us apart.
"What now?" Terry whines.
"I want to take you out tonight, so I'm leaving and I'll see you tonight." I slightly push him off me and I collect all my things. "I have so many things to plan, and so little time to do it."
"Why can't we do the date thing another time, and now we just.... I don't know..... HAVE SEX!" Terry says; the beginning of the sentence very seductively, and the end not so much.
"Because I want to do this right. I want everything to be perfect with you." I grab his waist and start kissing his neck. "I want you to be showered in romance that you can't take it." I kiss him one last time and leave his room. "See you tonight."
"Whatever." I hear him say.
Trust me it's going to be perfect.
Terry's POV
Grayson is officially the definition of perfection. I stand in awe as the beautiful white stretched out limo stands outside my apartment building. I watch as he comes out with red roses mixed with white ones.
You can do this Terry.
"Hi." Grayson says handing me the flowers.
"Hi." I say oddly in a higher pitch that I'm not used to. "You didn't have to do all of this." I say in an almost whisper.
"Yes I did." Grayson grabs my hand leading me towards the limo. I have never been in a limo. Usually that's the typical vehicle used during prom, but I didn't go to prom so I wouldn't know. As he opens the door for me, I hold in my breath not sure what to expect. Holy Cow! I think to myself as I make way into the limo.
"Wow!" I say taking a sit and waiting for Grayson to get in.
"If you are amazed now, wait till you see where we are having dinner." Grayson says revealing his cocky smile.
"I'm not with you for your money!" I blurt out not being able to control myself.
"What?"
"I'm not with you for your money. I know you rich people think that." I mentally punch myself not believing that I actually just said that.
"The love I have for you, the lust, the want. The desire I have for you, to be honest I wouldn't fucking care if you were with me for my money." He says grabbing the flowers from my hands and putting them in a vase that just happens to be in the fucking limo. Who keeps vases in a limo? Rich ass people that's who!
"Great! Now you think I'm a gold digger." I throw my face in my hands, ashamed.
"I didn't say that Terry."
"No. You just said you didn't care if I was a gold digger. I know that maybe you are used to those kind of people, but I do like you. And I know that in the beginning I was a little....." Before I could finish my rambling, a pair of soft, dominant lips shut me up. As I begin to move against his lips, Grayson grabs my waist and pulls me closer to him. I put my hands behind his neck grabbing a fist full of his hair.
"Mmmmhhhh." A voice interrupts breaking us apart.
"Yes David." Grayson says with his lips still on mine.
"We are here sir." The gigantic man says while looking straight forward holding the door. As we make our make our way out of the window, I realize it looks like there is nobody at the restaurant.
"Grayson, I think the place is closed." I say pulling him back to a stop.
"Or somebody rented the place out for tonight,in order for him to have completely privacy with his beautiful date." He kisses my temple and starts walking again with his hand holding mine.
"Osteria Mozza." I whisper the name of the restaurant we are at, trying to remembering how I know this place. When I first got into USC, this was the place Danny took me to eat that night. I loved this place so much, I've always wanted to come back but since I'm broke, I stick to McDonald's. "When did you talk to Danny?"
"What are you talking about?" He asks opening the door for me.
"There is no way you could've known this was my favorite restaurant."
"Fine. I asked him, and he told me."
"There. Doesn't it feel good to tell the truth?"
"Will you just get in here?" He says taking me to the center table. The place is more beautiful than I remembered. From the crystal chandeliers to the polished waiters and waitresses , everything is just perfect. I take my sit, as Grayson does the same thing, across from me.
"Good evening, my name is Kendall and welcome to Osteria Mozza. Mr. Grayson the food you wanted is ready. Do you want to be served now?" The Kendall guy asks.
"Yes please." He answers not taking his eyes off me.
"So Grayson, since you did a background check on me, tell me about you." I say starting the conversation.
"What do you want to know?"
"Umm, tell me something about your sister. You only told me her name."
"Well, Gwen and I haven't always been close but, ever since in 99 when our dad passed, we have been inseparable. Now, tell me something about you?"
"My dad and Danny, are the only family I have."
"You don't have cousins, aunts, uncles?"
"Nope. My dad was in a foster home growing up and that caused him not to have any extended family. And most of my extended family came from my mom's side; who all left after the divorce." I explain trying to hide the pain.
"Is she still alive?"
"Nope. She died two years ago. What about your mom?"
"She's no longer in my life." He looks down with what looks like sadness and anger.
"I'm sorry Grayson."
"It's fine, trust me."
"So do you have any other family members?"
"Yeah, from both my mom and dad side. We keep in touch usually only once every two years or something like that."
"But Gwen...."
"Yeah. Gwen and I we kind of just have each other's back."
"She hates me." I say folding my arms and leaning back in my chair.
"She doesn't hate you." He says pulling his arms back as the waiters puts our food down on the table. "She just thinks ............." He says whispering the last part so that I couldn't hear it.
"Am sorry, what was that?" I ask getting ready to eat my food.
"I said, she just thinks that you are not in my league."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning, I usually involve myself with people with a higher status than ...."
"Great! She thinks I'm a gold digger!" I say cutting him off.
"What is with you and that fucking word?"
"Sorry that I care what people think of me."
"Why do you?"
"Because..... You know what? Let's just concentrate on the date."
"We are. Going on a date means wanting to get to know one another."
"I guess. I can't believe you convinced my dad to leave." I change the subject about his sister not wanting him to know how much it hurts me.
"Why did you and your friend seem surprised?"
"One time I got a cold and my dad drove all the way from Nevada. He stayed 6 months."
"6 months?"
"He wanted to make sure I was back on my feet. Mind you my cold lasted about a week."
"He really loves you, doesn't he?"
"When I caught my mom cheating on my dad, from that day on its like he tries to protect me to the extent."
"You walked in on her?"
"Yeah. She didn't know it was a half day. I will never forget the look she gave me. Pure hatred."
"That's fucked up."
"Tell me about it. I mean I had always known she didn't want me but, that day..." I trail off trying to hold back the tears. When a child grows up knowing that the person who pushed him out doesn't want him, it gets you. My dad tried his best to make my childhood seem a little sane, and it worked. Some days I was the happy child whose dad took him to the fair and some days, I was the kid whose mom called a fucking mistake every single day.
"Terry?" Grayson calls out to me and pats my hand lightly.
"I'm sorry what?" I ask coming back to reality.
"It's okay. I got you." He says and brings his hand to my face making me confused. He wipes the tears that were unknowingly falling from my eyes. "I got you."
