Obscure Motives

Grayson Hughes's Car-------->

Chapter Six: So Nice!

Terry's POV

"What's the catch?" I ask for the fifth time.

"Look, like I said before, I am just trying to be nice that's all." He responds.

"Then why don't I believe you?" I say stopping in the lobby.

"That is your own problem." He shruggs and continues walking. I quietly follow behind him. I don't trust myself. He is too hot, and I don't think I can control myself. Two hours with him, in car; I think am about to loose it. Fuck my life!

"Are you coming?" Grayson asks pointing at a black Range Rover that the valet just brought up.

"That's your car?" I ask in shock. How much does this guy make?

"Yes it is my car. Coming?" He says as he goes and opens the passenger's door for me. I drag myself towards the car and get in. The smell was incredible, and the seats, Oh My Gawd! I reach for the seat belt and hook it up.

"This is an amazing car." I say trying not to drool from the luxurious features. "I can only imagine."

"Imagine what?" Grayson asks as he got into the driver's seat. He put his seat belt on and put the car in drive.

"Owning a car like this." I say running my hand around the dashboard.

"What kind of car do you have?" Grayson asks.

"I don't have one. Well, I had a Ford Focus 2000 but then it went down hill so... No more cars for me." I answer.

"What kind of car would you want?" He asks turning on the freeway.

"Promise you won't judge me?"

"Why would I judge you?"

"Well, I used to watch one of those Kardashian shows and it seems like everyone had a Range Rover so, since then, I have always wanted one."

"You wasted you time watching those people?"

"In my defense, it was Khloe and Lamar. They were so cute together."

"Interesting." Grayson says in the most judgemental voice.

"Are you judging me?"

"What? No!"

"I can feel you judging me. You know what? Just drive the damn car." I cross my arms and look outside the window. I can be dramatic sometimes.

"Are you mad?" He asks.

Yes am mad! I remain silent not wanting him to know that I am mad. Music starts playing and it is The Blueprint by Jay-Z. Fuck! I love that album. I remain cool and collected since I don't want to embarrass myself.

"So what do you do?" Grayson asks attempting to start a conversation with me.

"None of your business."

"Did I do something?" He asks, his voice sounding broken.

"Am fine. Am just tired." I get myself comfortable and ready for a nap. "Wake me up when we get to LA.

"Okay."

The whole way home I slept. You would think that I'd be happy, but no. All I was dreaming about was this sexy beast that is currently driving me home. I have never wanted someone more than I want this man. But, am in a relationship. Well, barely. It's not like I will ever see him again. We come from different worlds, after today, he'll go one way, and I will go the other.

"Where do I drop you off?" Grayson asks making me get up. After am up, I realize that we are in LA.

"The apartment complex by USC." I say as I rub my eyes from sleep. "Thanks for doing this."

"You are very welcome." Grayson says with a smile. An amazing smile that is. My phone starts vibrating and it shows it's Raymond.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey babe. Did you find a ride back from Hot Springs?" He asks.

"Yes I did. Am actually almost home now."

"Great. Sorry I couldn't come get you. When Danny called me and told me about it, I was just entering a meeting, and you know how my meetings are very important." Ray explains.

"Yes I know."

"Well, text me when you get home. Bye. I love you."

"Bye." I disconnected the phone.

Why am I with him? Our relationship is long overdue for a breakup, yet am still with him. I hate myself sometimes. It's amazing how he always manages to change my mood to bitter, everytime he calls me.

"Okay, here you are." Grayson says putting the car in park.

"Thanks." I say unhooking my seat belt.

"Wait."

"What?"

"Since you seem to be a very blunt person, I won't beat around the bush."

"Okay."

"I only met you today. But the moment I saw you, I realized that my search is over."

"Search for what?"

"Am actually asking you out Terry."

"Sorry, am not interested." Terry shut your mouth now. What the hell is wrong with me?

"You haven't even thought about it." Grayson turns his face to me.

"There is nothing to think about. Am not interested. Period."

"Look Terry, am not going to waist your time here, am being serious. Very serious."

"And I was dead serious when I said am not interested. Please excuse me." I open the door and got out of the car.

"It was nice meeting you."

"But Terry I...."

"So nice!" I cut him off and close the door. I head towards, more like run inside the apartment complex. I ran towards the elevator not wanting any chance of him catching up to me; if he were to come after me. I press the number three since that's where my apartment is. Danny and I chose the third floor because we didn't want any obnoxious upstairs neighbors annoying us all the time, even though that's exactly the kind of upstairs neighbors we are.

I get off the elevator, and walk towards my apartment. I insert my key and open the door.

"Bitch! You're back!" Danny screams jumping into my arms.

"Yes I am. And might I say, I am done doing you favors." I say as I pull his body off me.

"It's not my fault Amanda fired you. Anyway I got another job." Danny shrugged and went into the kitchen. "Anyway, who brought you?"

"Grayson Hughes." I state honestly.

"The CEO of GH Records?" Danny asks with his mouth open in shock.

"Yeah."

"Oh My Gawd! No way! You lucky bastard. How though?" He asks.

"Can we not talk about it, please?" I ask heading to my bedroom.

"Whatever floats your boat." Danny says and goes back to his food.

I throw myself on my bed as I reached my room. I cannot believe he actually just asked me out. I am with someone else, yes he doesn't know that because I didn't say anything, but still. Who just asks out someone so bluntly like that?

Ugh!

I hate him.

I hope I never see him again.
