Chapter 7
Obscure Motives
Ross Williams ------->
Chapter Seven: Stubborn Brat?
Grayson's POV
"So nice? So fucking nice! That's what he said to me." I say on top of my voice.
"Pretty boy, chill. You need to calm down." Ross says busy typing on his phone.
"Calm down? I finally find someone who makes my heart actually skip, and he just happens to be a stubborn brat!" I explain pacing back and forth.
"Stubborn brat?" Ross asks finally taking his eyes away from the phone.
"Yes! I mean why else would he say no to me?" I stop in the middle of my living room.
"Maybe he has someone. Or maybe he's not even into guys." He suggests.
"Oh.. He is definitely into guys. I just know that for sure." I plunge myself into the seat opposite from Ross.
"And how do you know that?" He asks.
"I just know okay."
"Look, it seems like you really like this kid, so why don't you just make him notice you." Ross said coming over to my chair and sitting on the arm rest.
"How the hell am I supposed to do that?"
"You are rich. I'm sure you will think of something." Ross pats my back and gets up from the couch. "I gotta go, but we will take later."
"Fine." I wave him off. Not gay? That can't be it. Maybe he does have somebody who he is seeing. But who is better than me? I've had women and men drop their significant others just because I showed a slight interest in them. Now this brat thinks he can say no to me? I don't think so! I pull out my phone and call David.
"Sir?" David's voice comes through the phone.
"I need you to find some information about somebody. Don't ask any questions, just do it." I command.
"Yes sir. Will that be all?" He asks.
"Make it fast." I disconnect the line after finishing my sentence. I send a quick text to David about Terry. I get up from my couch and head upstairs. After reaching my bedroom, I go into the bathroom and decided to take a shower. I need sometime to think, so why not?
He seems not to be very poor. If he stayed in that USC apartment complex, that means he has to have a little money. I have a feeling he has money issues from now and then. Great! I could just shower him with different things and he will fall into my arms.
Watch out Terry Baker because I am coming for you.
Friday 8:30am
I take a deep breath as I put the car in park. I can't believe I am actually here. Currently, I am in Terry's apartment building parking lot. David did some research on Terry and I was right, he is barely managing with school and work. Even though David said there is a chance he might be with someone but nobody sees him with anyone so, either he is single or he is dating an idiot. I get out of my car and start off to Terry's apartment. I walk in and get on the elevator. I get to the floor that I need, and outside of his door, I stand.
Breath Grayson.
I knock hesitantly two times and step away from the door. A short, white male opens the door. He has spikey blonde hair, and a small frame.
"Hello." I say to him.
"Um.. Hi." The guy said grinning.
"Am looking for Terry. Is he in?" I ask politely. I would introduce myself, but I don't care who he is, I came here for Terry.
"Yes. He's busy though." The male said holding back a laugh. What the fuck is so funny?
"He's busy? Can I go in and see him?" I ask reaching for the door knob.
"No! He's on his way out." He answers pushing my hand away from the door knob. Who the hell does he think he is?
"So, he's busy and he's on his way out." I say trying to understand him.
"Yes." He says stepping to the side of the door smiling.
"Danny am almost done, am coming." Terry's voice comes from behind the door. Am assuming the guy's name is Danny. I waited patiently to see the beautiful Terry again.
"Am waiting. Chill." Danny called out to him. The door opened a little wider and there came Terry. In his beautiful physic, Gawd I want him.
"Hi Terry." I say.
"Hello." Terry answers with no emotion.
"I...I brought you something." I reach in my pocket to get the box that had the keys to the Range Rover I just bought him.
"Am sorry, but I don't think I need whatever it is that you just brought me." Terry says straightening his book bag. "Why bother?"
"I bother because I am trying to show you how I feel about you." I respond.
"I thought you said you were a CEO?" He asks air quoting the word CEO.
"Yeah?"
"Don't you have important things to attend to other than me?"
"There is nothing more important than you."
"Really? Well, am sorry. Unfortunately, I have my important things to do. Going to my lecture at 8:45 is one." Terry brush passes me and starts walking away.
"Terry! Terry? Please?" I plead going after him. "Can't we just talk for like a second, I came all the way here to see you." I beg with him.
"Why don't you just not come? I don't remember ever inviting you to come."
"You don't have to invite me. Terry you mean so much to me."
"Am sorry but you don't mean anything to me. Excuse me." And with that he walked away.
I stare at him as he walks away from me. Even with these rejections, I still find him attractive. I still want him. And I'm going to have him. Right now, my heart is just simply shattered. How can someone be so cruel? A simple no could have been nice. I mean yes he said no, but giving up is not in my vocabulary. I walk back to my car with his words still ringing in my ear. 'Am sorry, but you don't mean anything to me.' How dare he? Now am going to be pissed the whole fucking day.
Terry's POV
"What the fuck was that?" Danny scolds me while we enter out English 112 class.
"What are you talking about?" I answer obliviously.
"Do you know who that was?"
"Yes I do. What's you point?" I respond.
"How do you know Grayson Hughes again?"
"He's the one who gave me a ride after your cheap ass wouldn't. Remember, I told you this Wednesday night. " I take my seat and prepare for class.
"Grayson Hughes, the sexiest billionaire you know asks you out and you say no, why?" Danny asks plunging himself in the seat next to me.
"Because I got a man."
"You mean, that no-good, workaholic, son of a bitch bastard, Raymond? That's who you said no for?"
"Yes."
"You don't even love him. You haven't felt an emotion for him other than anger and hate for like a year. Is that what you want for yourself?"
"Okay. People let's get this shit over with." Mrs. Cole our English professor says as she walks in.
I turn away from Danny not wanting to talk about it anymore. He is right though. I feel like I have so much hatred for Ray that I can't let anyone be with me. The moment I saw Grayson outside my apartment, my heart just melted. Instead of seeing Grayson's kind heartedness, I was thinking of why a stranger can treat me with so much kindness, yet my own boyfriend can't. How can I have so much love and need for a stranger yet when it comes to the person am actually dating, I feel nothing? How can a stranger look at me with so much passion yet my own boyfriend doesn't?
When I first met Ray, he was sweet and amazing. For the first two months. For two months he showed some attention to me, after that it went downhill so fast. But yet, I have stayed with him for two years. Why? Cheating on people is wrong. And also I vowed to my dad that I will never break anyone's heart. What was I supposed to do, it was his dying wish. My mother not only cheated on my father, but she also asked for a divorce from my dad after he said he forgave her for cheating. He went into depression after that, attempted suicide two times, and just straight up became an alcoholic. I don't want that to happen to Ray, he deserves better.
Hell, I deserve better.
The class went by quick with me day dreaming about Grayson. After we leave the class, Danny and I decide to go get some snacks before the next classes.
"All am saying is, make him break up with you." Danny suggests while drinking his 7-Up.
"I don't want to break up with him." I re-battle.
"We are not getting any younger. You need to get your shit together okay? Give Grayson a chance." He pleads with me.
"No."
"You're a stubborn brat." He says getting part of my honey bun.
"It is what it is."
