Chapter 1
Ice-Cold Ceo, Crazy Love
The ward was all white.
Two hospital beds were placed side by side.
Two women were lying on the beds silently, both paleâfaced. But the short distance between them seemed to be two completely different worlds.
One of the beds were surrounded by a few peopleâsome were comforting the woman on the bed while others were preparing food and drinks for her.
Only a few steps away was the other bed. The woman was alone and there was no one taking care of her.
She was much weaker and paler, but everyone ignored her as if she didnât exists.
The womanâs name was Belle Miller. She lowered her head slightly, letting the noise not far away float into her ears.
The woman overwhelmed by love on the other bed was her younger sister, Yana Miller.
They were twins, but they didnât look alike due to being fraternal twins. Due to being born at minute earlier, Belle became the elder sister.
Suffering from aplastic anemia since she was a kid, Yana required blood transfusions regularly event if she didnât lose blood over injuries.
Therefore, Belle was destined to be her sisterâs blood bank from birth because of their matching blood type.
This time, Yana made a scene by slitting her own wrist, making her condition worse.
Belle had just donated blood for Yana a week ago and now she was forced to give blood again.
Altogether, she had lost 1,200cc of blood.
Belle could still remember the doctorâs warning when she was preapred to give blood a second time.
The doctor said that if she gave blood again, the damaged caused to her body might be irreversible.
But her parents didnât seem to care.
Belle would never forget their answer.
âHurry up. We canât let anything happen to Yana.â
Belle was their child as well.
But to them, Yana would always be more important.
It seemed that Belle was born to be Yanaâs living blood bank.
Belleâs parents had always been telling her that Yana had aplastic anemia was because she had taken too much nutrients in the womb.
Therefore, she owed Yana and should pay her back.
Belle felt that her parents were right. Thus over the years, she had always been spoiling and giving ground to Yana. Neither did she complain when she needed to give blood to Yana.
But things were different this time. She had given too much blood and for a moment there, she felt she was going to die.
Even so, her parents didnât seem to care. They didnât even take a second glance at her.
Belle wanted to cry, but her tears had run dry.
She couldnât help but wonder, âMom and Dad said that I owed Yana. But how long is it going to take for me to pay her back? Do I owe her my life and my debt can only be cleared when I give her my life?â
Belle lowered her head, hiding the pain and despair in her eyes.
Meanwhile, Yana was surrounded by people.
With tears on her face, Jane Miller was holding a bowl of oatmeal in her hand. âYana, please have something to eat. Youâve lost too much blood yesterday. You were given blood, but the doctor said that youâre still too weak.â
Jane looked like a loving mother, but she didnât even spare a glance at her other daughter, who was just a few steps away and almost fainted because of the huge amount of blood she had given to Yana.
âAt least have a few bites. Carl Miller frowned, his tough tone carrying obvious concern.
âNo, no,â Yana yelled wildly and stretched out to knock the bowl out of Janeâs hands fiercely.
The oatmeal was spilled on the ground and the smell filled the air.
Belle licked her lips. She was starving. If Yana didnât want it, she was more than happy to eat all of 1. it.
But⦠no one thought of her.
Jane just held Yanaâs hand gently. âSweetheart, you need to be careful. What if you get hurt again?â
A Yana responded in a fit of pique, âThatâs even better. You can just leave me to die and donât try to save me.â
Belle pursed her lips as she was at a loss for words..
âIf Yana gets hurt again, she will probably need another blood transfusion. That means Iâll have to give blood again. I hope she wonât act selfishly again. Otherwise, I might not be able to survive another blood draw.â
âWhat are nonsense you talking about?â Jane wiped the tears from her face. âYouâre breaking my heart, Yana.â
âYana, calm down. Nothing is more important than your health.â Carl softened his voice.
Yanaâs eyes lit up. âReally? Then I want to cancel my engagement with the Landor family! I donât want to marry Adam Landor!â
âNonsense!â Carl was taken aback by Yanaâs words and looked around subconsciously.
Adam Landor was the head of the Landor family.
A lot of people had heard of his name.
Ten years ago, Adamâs father, the head of the Storm Group, passed away all of a sudden.
Adam, who was only 18 years old back then, took over the company.
Despite the negative voices from others, he expanded the Storm Group from a mediumâsized corporation into a topânotch consortium in ten years.
If there was a nobodyâcanâoffend list in Coraland, or even in the world, Adam would definitely rank the top.
He had such a legendary experience and such immense power.
It was the Miller familyâs sheer luck to get the chance to get engaged to Adam.
But Carl didnât expect that Yana would not want such a wonderful chance.
âDad, Iâm serious!â Yana said anxiously, âThe Landor family is indeed powerful, but Adam looks like a monster! I cannot bear one single day to live with him.â
When Adam was a kid, he was burnt by a fire, which left a serious scar on his face though he survived.
And Yana was scared by his monsterâlike face when she saw him from afar.
Therefore, she would rather die than marry Adam.
Carlâs eyes flashed. âA promising career is the most important thing for a man and you shouldnât care about his appearance too much.â
Although Carl doted on his younger daughter, he still wouldnât give up this opportunity to build a relationship with the Landor family!
If Yana was married to Adam, then the Millers would definitely become an even more affluent family.
âDad!â Yana still expressed her concerns. âBut everybody knows that Adam is illâtempered and his wife would definitely not be happy after the marriage. His first wife accidentally fell into the sea and drowned after being married to him for only three days. Rumors had it that it was Adam who pushed her to the sea and killed her.â
âItâs just a rumor. Carl continued to convince Yana.
âOkay, letâs consider that a rumor. Then what about his next fiancée? She died of a heart attack in the evening on the that day she went to the Landor residence. Some speculated that the heart attack was caused by Adamâs savage behaviors.â Yana was really anxious.
âThat would be another rumor.â Carl refuted.
In fact, Carl was even glad that Adam had such a ferocious appearance and terrible reputation.
Otherwise, the Miller family wouldnât have gotten the chance to let Yana be engaged to Adam.
âDad! Thereâs no smoke without fire.â Yana was so anxious that she almost cried out, âI wouldnât live long if I married such an ugly and fierce man as Adam. Whatâs the point if I were to die soon after I marry him?â
âHoney.â Jane got somewhat distressed after hearing Yanaâs words. âEven if those things about Adamâs wife and fiancée were rumors, things might still be difficult for Yana after the marriage. Adam is from a rich and powerful family, thereâs quite a big difference in terms of wealth and power between them. I love Yana, I donât want her to have a rough time after sheâs married.â
âMom, I donât want to leave you. I donât want to marry Adam. Iâd rather commit suicide than be tortured to death by Adam,â Yana cried much more sadly.
âMy poor girl.â
Jane and Yana hugged each other, crying hard.
Carl frowned. He was beginning to doubt his own decision as well.
After a long pause, he said hesitantly, âBut I⦠Iâve already agreed to Mr. Charlie Landorâs proposal.
If I got back on my word, then we might offend Adam. Thatâs not something we want.â
It would just be a piece of cake for Adam to destroy the Miller family.

Meanwhile, a cold silent man was standing outside their ward.
Hearing Yanaâs sharp voice coming from the ward, Adam calmly raised a hand to touch the scar on his face. He then turned around and walked out of the hospital.
Little did he expect that a fake scar would help him see through the disguises of so many people over the years.
His assistant trotted after him, saying, âSir, thereâs no need to be too upsetâ¦â¦â Adam turned his head, squinted his eyes, and his lips curved into a dangerous smile.
âWhy would I be upset? If it werenât for my grandfather, this marriage with the Miller family wouldnât exist. Do you really think I care about what they think about me?
The assistant nodded and asked, âWhat should we do now, sir?â
After a short pause, Adam sneered. âKeep preparing for the wedding. I want to see which daughter the Miller family will send over as the bride.â
