Chapter 197
Ice-Cold Ceo, Crazy Love
Yana gazed steadily at Susan. The message she had received from the police was vague, stating only that Timothy had died from falling off a cliff But why would Timothy, of all people, be at the edge of a cliff?
And why would he fall?
No one could provide her with answers.
She was tormented day and night, wracked with pain Today, however, she suddenly saw things clearly When Timothy had left, he said he was going on a business trip.
But what business did he have in such a small town?
Without a doubt, Timothy had gone to find Susan Thus, the cause of his death was something only Susan would know.
Perhaps evenâ¦
His death was caused by Susan!
Yana didnât know where to find Susan. She just wanted to try her luck at Storm Group To her surprise, as soon as she arrived, she ran into Susan Perhaps it was Timothyâs spirit in heaven, wanting her to seek justice for him âSusan, why are you not speaking?â Yana slowly approached, âTimothy died mysteriously Dare you say his death has nothing to do with you?â
Susan pursed her lips and grasped Yanaâs arm, âYana, letâs talk over thereâ
âTalk over there?â Yana scoffed, âWhy? is what youâre going to say next unsuitable for others to hear?â
Susan ignored her sarcasm and firmly pulled her arm Yana attempted to struggle, but after several days in a daze, she had no strength left and simply let Susan guide her to a side seating area âHere, drink some water first, Susan offered her a cup å³ã Yanaâs expression was cold, âSusan, I donât need your fake kindness. I just want the truth. Tell me, does Timothyâs death have anything to do with you?â
Susan pursed her lips.
To claim that Timothyâs death had nothing to do with her would be a falsehood..
She didnât want to deceive Yana and was at a loss for words.
âHis death really is related to you!â Yanaâs voice shook, âSusan, was it you? Did you harm Timothy?â
âI didnât,â Susan said quickly, On this point, her conscience was clear.
âNot you? Then it was Ben! Ben harmed Timothy, right?â Yanaâs eyes reddened with distress.
Susan quickly shook her head, âTimothyâs death has nothing to do with either of us.â
Yana stared at her intensely. âThen tell me, did he see you before he died?â
Susan hesitated.
âI want the truth!â Yana clutched her stomach.
Her emotional outburst had stirred the child within her.
Susan frowned, âYana, try to stay calm. Youâre pregnant, and ifâ¦â
âEnough,â Yana cut her off, her gaze stubborn, âI donât want to hear any of that. Susan, answer my question. Did you see him before he died?â
Susanâs mouth opened slightly.
Yana enunciated each word sharply, âI want the truth.â
In her eyes, there was a hint of terrifying madness.
Susan was silent for a moment, then slowly said, âYes, I saw him before he died.â
A tragic smile crept onto Yanaâs lips, âSo he really went to find you! Susan, youâre so capable. I might have deceived him into being with me, but his heart was always with you. You already had Ben, why did you have to compete with me for Timothy?â
Susan furrowed her brow, âI wasnât competing with you.â
She believed that ever since Timothy started being with Yana, she never entertained the idea of any entanglement with him.
Whenever Timothy sought her out afterwards, she made her position crystal clear, leaving no room for ambiguity.
Accused of competing with Yana for Timothy?
That was a charge Susan wouldnât accept.
âYou didnât compete?â Yana murmured, her voice taking on a strange tone, âThatâs right. The man I schemed to have, you didnât need to compete for. Heâd come wagging his tall to you like a devoted dog.
Susan, tell me, even if I was wrong, I married him, Iâm carrying his child. I gave my heart, why didnât he reciprocate with sincerity?â
Yanaâs voice grew increasingly somber and eerie.
Susan sensed something amiss and couldnât help but say, âYana, youâ¦â
Yana looked up at her with a ghostly gaze, âWhat, you pity me? Want to comfort me? I donât need it.â
Susan frowned and said, âIâm not trying to comfort you. Iâm just trying to advise you to consider the child in your womb. If you truly cared for Timothy, your child is his only bloodline. For his sake, you need to stabilize your emotions and at the very least, ensure the child is born healthy and safe.â
Yana scoffed coldly and said indifferently, âSusan, spare me the pretense. Timothy simply loved you.
Even if you didnât return his feelings, you didnât have to take his life. Remember, if anything happens to this child, itâs because you caused his fatherâs death, and you, too, will have harmed him.â
Hate saturated Yanaâs voice.
Susan was momentarily taken aback, then said, âIâve told you, I didnât kill Timothy.â
âThen tell me, why would he suddenly fall off a cliff?â Yana demanded.
Why would he jump off a cliff?
Susan looked at Yanaâs haggard appearance.
She hesitated.
She could easily reveal the truth.
But could Yana accept such a truth?
Could Susan tell her that Timothy had kidnapped her, wanting to leave everything behind, including Yana and the child?
Now, Yana was holding on by a thread.
But if she learned the realityâ¦
Would she still be able to hold on?
Susan pursed her lips.
She and Yana were sisters, but they could hardly be considered close.
In fact, it wouldnât be an overstatement to say there was enmity between them.
But Yana was carrying a child.
Given Yanaâs particular condition, if something happened to the baby, and she began to bleed uncontrollably, she likely wouldnât survive either.
One truth could potentially cost two lives.
To speak, or not to speak?
âWhatâs the matter? Cat got your tongue?â A trace of scorn flickered in Yanaâs eyes.
Susan pursed her lips and spoke calmly, âAll I can say is that Iâve never harmed Timothy. As to his death, my conscience is clear.â
âA clear conscience,â Yana suddenly burst into laughter.
But as she laughed, tears began to stream down her face.
Susan, finding it hard to watch, softened her tone, âYana, the dead canât be brought back to life. Go home and rest.â
âAlright, Iâll go home and rest,â Yana stood up, vigorously wiping her tears away.
Susan exhaled slightly in relief, âLet me walk you out.â
Yana gave Susan a blank look, not refusing the offer.
Susan then walked her to the companyâs entrance.
âSusan.â At the door, Yana suddenly halted.
âYes?â Susan responded.
Yana suddenly smiled at her, âActually, Timothy really liked you a lot.â
Susan frowned, unsure how to respond to that remark.
âSoâ¦â Yana leaned closer to Susan, her voice dropping to a whisper.
In an attempt to hear Yana clearly, Susan listened intently.
âSo⦠would you join him in death?â Yana asked softly.
âWhat?â A flicker of shock crossed Susanâs eyes.
But before she could react, Yanaâs hand produced a sharp dagger.
With a sinister expression, she forcefully thrust the dagger towards Susanâs chest!
They were too close, and Yanaâs action was too sudden for Susan to react.
Just as the dagger was about to pierce Susanâs heart, a tremendous force suddenly pulled Susan away.
In the next instant, Susan found herself in a warm embrace.
Dazedly looking up, she saw Benâs calm face.
He smiled gently at seeing Susan, then ruffled her hair, âDonât be afraid.â
Donât be afraid?
Susanâs entire body began to tremble.
Whereâs the dagger?
Yanaâs dagger, where did it go?
âBen?â Yana sneered, âPerfect, you can go down and join Timothy.â
Yana tried to continue her attack.
The security guards had already rushed over and quickly subdued her.
der pay âLet go of me, let me go!â Yana shrieked, âMurder pays with life, itâs only just. They killed Timothy, they should go down and join him.â
The security swiftly gagged Yana.
She continued to whimper but could no longer speak.
âLet me see your back,â Susan wanted to move behind Ben.
âJust a small wound, donât look,â Ben held her back.
âBen!â Susan, annoyed, grabbed his hand, âStop it, let me see now!â
7 Ben remained silent, just smiling at Susan.
âWhat are you smiling at!â Susan was even more imitated.
Ben asked, âSusan, have you remembered everything?â
Susan paused for a moment, then quickly nodded, and said, âBut thatâs not important right now, let me justâ¦â
âThen⦠have you forgiven me?â Ben looked at Susan with a somewhat pitiful expression, âAre we still getting a divorce?â
Susan was nearly driven mad by his questions.
At such a time, he was still asking such silly questions?
âI forgive you, weâre not divorcing,â said Susan.
Medical staff arrived, ready to bandage Benâs wound.
But he stopped them, still gazing at Susan, âReally?â
âReally, really,â Susan was becoming frantic, âCanât you wait until after youâve been bandaged to talk?
Quick, come and bandage him up.â
âAlright, as you say,â Ben finally showed a relaxed smile.
The medical staff hurried forward.
Ben gave Susan a smile but then collapsed straight toward her.
Susan was pinned to the ground by his weight.
Her hand touched Benâs back, then looking up, she saw it covered in blood.
Susanâs mind went entirely blank!
