Chapter 125
Missing Mrs. Lowry: The Billionaire’s Wakeup Call
Sullivanâs gaze was piercing and intense.
Chapter 125
Turns out, Megan had known all along that he would come here tonight. He stepped forward to catch Meganâs wrist, about to say something.
âDonât touch me!â Megan wrenched free, taking a step back as she looked at him.
âSullivan, you promised youâd stop seeing her! You said you had a meeting at the office tonight! But youâve been with her all evening! What am I to you, Sullivan? What is our marriage to you? And all those sweet nothings you whisperedâwhat? Just hot air?â
Sullivan grabbed her again, his frown deepening as he hissed, âCut it out!â
Megan let out a bitter laugh. She hadnât even started, and he was telling her to cut it out? Cut what out? Did she even have the right to make a fuss?
Tears misted her eyes as she looked at her husband and said softly, âSullivan, if you hadnât told me you cared, if you hadnât said you wanted to start over with me, I wouldnât care about your little escapades with her or the loveyâdovey act you put on for everyone else. But you did say those things, Sullivan⦠You probably donât realize how disgusting I find it every time you come near me now. Youâve become unbearable!â
Sullivanâs expression turned dark and stormy. He pulled her close, whispering in her ear, âUnbearable, huh? But you seem to forget how much you enjoyed our sex. Have you forgotten?â
Megan was forced to tilt her head back to look at him.
Beneath the chandelier, her fair skin glowed, except for the wetness in her eyes and a faint bruise that seemed to throb at the end of her brows.
Sullivan caressed the small bruise, scoffing softly.
âMrs. Lowry, I may have kept things from you, but it seems you havenât been entirely honest with me either! Itâs a twoâway street in this marriage!â
Meganâs lips trembled. âThereâs no twoâway street. Itâs just you and Cressida!â
She pushed him away with force, straightening herself up.
She didnât want to waste her emotions or energy on them anymore. She had a private banquet to attend shortly, where she would even have to perform in front of some of the industryâs biggest namesâ¦
Just then, Luke came out to fetch the guests.
Spotting Megan, he approached with enthusiasm. âWhy havenât you come in yet? Paxtonâs been waiting for you for ages. He was just talking you up to some of the teachers; everyoneâs eager to meet you!â
Megan managed a weak smile. âIâm coming, Luke.â
Noticing Sullivan and Cressida, Luke looked puzzled. âMr. Lowry, arenât you and Megan married? Why are you here with Cressida? Arenât you worried about scandal?â
Sullivan replied coldly, âYou know my wife?!â
The two men locked horns in a verbal duel.

Chapter 125
Cressida, sitting in her wheelchair, turned pale. She had invested so much in tonightâs private banquet, even wearing adult diapers under her dress, thinking she would be the star of the evening. Yet, Megan had
stolen her thunder.
When she saw Megan, Cressida knew that studying with Paxton was pointless.
Megan was the one Paxton was looking for!
Suddenly, Cressidaâs face turned ashen. Clutching the fabric of her dress, her voice cracked, âIt hurts so much. Mr. Lowry, Iâm in pain! Take me back to the hospitallâ
Sullivan looked down at her.
Cressidaâs forehead was beaded with sweat, her complexion nearly ashen. Without a momentâs hesitation, he scooped her up and headed for the elevator. The elevator doors opened and closed⦠Throughout it all, he didnât even glance at Megan.
Megan watched her husband carry another woman away.
His eyes brimmed with tenderness for Cressida. He had forgotten he had a wife, forgotten his vows⦠How could she have ever thought that Sullivan had even the slightest affection for her?
âMegan, youâre such a fool!â She laughed inwardly.
Luke, witnessing the scene, couldnât help but sigh. He looked at Megan with concern. âDo you need a moment? Or maybe we should reschedule? I can tell Paxton and the others you had a little accident on the way here.*
